Katie Price risks backlash after vaping on stage at first night of tour

Katie Price has risked a backlash as she kicks off her tour with best pal Kerry Katona. The former glamour model and telly star was joined by the former Atomic Kitten singer for the opening night of their joint tour at Marine Hall in Fleetwood.

As the pals of over two decades took to the stage, they spoke openly about their lives. The outspoken duo touched on subjects involving their love lives and family experiences, while also chatting about their time together in the Australian jungle, where they took part in I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here.

It was there that the duo became good friends – and Katie, 47 met ex-husband Peter Andre, 52. But as Katie and Kerry spoke candidly with the crowd in Fleetwood, some were shocked to watch the mum-of-five allegedly sneak a vape while on stage.

A source at the show told the Mirror: “Kate tried to hide it in the first act but by the second act she embraced having a cheeky vape on stage. It just added to the chaotic nature of the show and was very on brand.”

Although smoking indoors is not prohibited in the UK, it is still prohibited. However, some locations may have restrictions.

During the show Katie made a number of bombshell claims, including a marriage admission in which she admitted “suffering”. Talking about her days with the Australian singer, Katie opened up on the breakdown of their marriage, but insisted there are “happy memories” too.

Kerry, 45, made fun of Katie and Peter by first involving them in the jungle while performing on the stage. Peter already had a management team as a result of his pop career, Katie explained.

She continued, “Well, he had a manager,” adding, “I needed to be careful with how I word things now because I wanted to be with Pete and Pete wanted to be with me.”

Kerry interrupted, saying, “I’ll say it.” She ultimately managed me, Pete, and… We were three in the marriage, they said.

There are memories, Katie continued. They brought back wonderful memories. I’ve had to endure it for 16 years as a result of my split up. However, I’m pleased to see that people are seeing the truth now that it has been made public on social media.

After Katie and Peter’s recent public arguments, an audience member has since revealed that the audience member initially expressed legal concerns. The source, however, claimed that when she did so, there was a significant upsurge in support.

Say what you like about Katie, they remarked.

As they continue to open up to crowds all over the country in their distinctive style, Katie and Kerry will travel to places like New Brighton, Ellsmere Port, Stockport, and London on their tour.

When the Mirror reached her, Katie’s representative declined to comment.

From chaos to professionalism – but is La Liga being left behind?

The growing financial gap between La Liga and the Premier League was once more highlighted by this summer’s transfer window.

English clubs spent more than £3 billion, with Alexander Isak’s £125 million signing from Liverpool the most notable move.

By comparison, the Spanish teams only spent £592 million, far behind only Italy ($1 billion) and Germany ($739 million). The numbers show how much La Liga has lost financially recently.

Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid, who spent £157 million and £149 million, respectively, were the main investors in Spain.

Real Betis worked hard to sign Antony from Manchester United for £21 million, while Villarreal did break their transfer record by signing Georges Mikautadze for £25.5 million.

Restraint was the only exception to this, though: Sevilla raised £38 million by selling Dodi Lukebakio and Loic Bade to balance their squad, Getafe sacrificed their outstanding player Christantus Uche to stay within the rules, and Barcelona resorted to low-cost reinforcements, leaving with a modest £16 million surplus.

Transformation from chaos to skillfull

Spanish football was in disarray earlier in the century. Over 20 clubs filed for bankruptcy, unpaid wages dominated the news, and debts to the social security and tax authorities soared to over £595 million. Spanish clubs were widely regarded as toxic investments in that environment.

The economic control framework for La Liga, which was inspired by Uefa’s Financial Fair Play, was introduced in 2013 as the turning point.

Then, clubs were only allowed to spend the money they made. All transactions were closely monitored, and salary caps were put in place, and revenues had to be demonstrated before investments.

The situation changed dramatically as foreign investors returned, chronic debt was reduced, and losses were replaced. Atletico, Valencia, Espanyol, Cadiz, and Leganes are currently owned by funds.

Even Barcelona were forced to sell assets and use financial “leaves” to comply, demonstrating that the laws are applied across the board.

The foundation of a new industry was not just a sport reform; it was also one of the most recent ones. Clubs switched from risky ventures to stable ones that can create thousands of jobs and significantly improve Spain’s economy.

Perhaps La Liga’s greatest success came from the transition from chaos to professionalism.

The league’s reforms go beyond financial oversight, either. Clubs have been urged to improve their management, transparency, and governance standards have been improved.

With more emphasis on data, technology, and diversifying sources of income, modernization has become a priority.

The model has also revealed its flaws, though. Women’s teams are frequently underfunded due to the strictness of the rules, which gives clubs greater priority over their men’s squads to maintain compliance.

Even the most dominant team in Europe, Barcelona Femeni, had only 17 registered players in its inaugural season, while international rivals operated more freely.

Additionally, smaller sporting communities have been squeezed, which underscores the need for upcoming adjustments that can balance financial discipline with inclusivity.

Spanish football relied on broadcasting and player transfers as its main sources of income for years. Collective TV rights, introduced in 2015, doubled annual income to about £1.3bn, peaking at £1.4bn in 2019-20.

Before the pandemic, transfers were lucrative, but the market has since recovered. There are concerns that the revamped Champions League may further diminish La Liga’s worth because piracy costs an estimated £510 million to £595 million annually.

How Spanish clubs continue to exert their might

Lamine Yamal and Kylian MbappeGetty Images

Clubs have to turn their attention away from this reality. Stadium exploitation, for both football and other events, is maximizing matchday revenues.

Ten Bad Bunny concerts will be held at Metropolitano in Atletico Madrid, for instance. The contentious private equity partnership’s controversial agreement gave clubs a total of £1.6 billion, with the remainder going to be used primarily for infrastructure and international expansion.

Real Madrid, Barcelona, and the Athletic Club oppose it, which highlights the strategy. Spanish football needs to expand its business horizons to maintain its annual revenues of £4.3 billion.

La Liga’s glamour will always suffer because of financial discipline. The Premier League benefits from having a stronger pay-TV culture, a wider international audience, and increased revenues as well as structural advantages. Spain can’t compete with this on a commercial level.

Spanish clubs, however, continue to outperform their competition on the pitch. La Liga clubs have reached 15 European finals in the last ten years, compared to 13 for English clubs.

Real Madrid, Barcelona, and Atletico have all consistently competed in the Champions League, Sevilla has won the Europa League, Villarreal has won the 2021 title, and Real Betis has been represented in the Conference League as well. Evidence demonstrates that Spain still delivers competitively despite England’s financial dominance.

In fact, La Liga has the biggest names in the game right now, with Ousmane Dembele and Lamine Yamal and Kylian Mbappe leading the charge in the new era.

Mohamed Salah is one of the few international superstars who has caught his eye. Real Madrid and Barcelona are unmatched in terms of appeal, and for players, they are still the top destinations. They are also the epicenter of history, glamour, and tradition.

The youth systems of La Liga contribute to its resilience. Spanish universities have always been strong, but now that spending is being cut, they are even more important. La Masia, Real Castilla, and Atletico’s academy continue to produce talent, as do Villarreal, Real Sociedad, Athletic Club, and Celta Vigo.

A steady flow of top-notch footballers is a result of this player development culture. It strengthens the local identity while also bringing in valuable market assets for clubs.

This system produces players like Pedri, Lamine Yamal, Nico Williams, and Alex Baena, who quickly join first teams and quickly become international stars. Many clubs’ academy serves as both a financial safeguard and a sporting foundation, keeping their competition competitive without spending too much money.

Prince Harry’s crunch solo trip to the UK explained as King Charles meeting on cards

Within hours, Prince Harry will make his first appearance in London to attend the annual WellChild Awards and possibly reunite with his separated father. Here’s everything we know about Harry’s visit to UK shores and the potential royal reconciliation

Within mere hours, Prince Harry will be touching down in the UK for the first time since April to attend the WellChild Awards in London.

There has been much speculation around his visit, and questions over whether Harry will meet with King Charles, Prince William, or any of the royal family on his trip after years of public jabs and allegations levelled at the Firm, resulting in a bitter stalemate between the Sussex camp and the royal family.

Here’s everything we know so far about Harry’s rare visit to the UK and the possibility of a royal reconciliation…

Harry’s trip to the UK provided an explanation.

Harry is making the trip from his home in California to London for the WellChild Awards on Monday, to celebrate the achievements and resilience of seriously ill youngsters and their families.

Harry will be able to attend the annual award ceremony for his 15th time as he continues to serve as the charity’s patron for 17 years. After presenting an award to a motivational child between the ages of four and six, the Duke will spend time with each winner and their families at a preceremony reception.

The Duke stated in a WellChild statement that he enjoys being able to attend the WellChild Awards and meet the incredible children, families, and professionals who inspire us all with their determination and spirit.

These awards have been a shining light on the dedicated caregivers, both family and professionals, who support young people who have complex medical needs for 20 years. Their stories remind us of the power of compassion, connection and community. The ceremony’s opening day also coincides with Queen Elizabeth’s three-year anniversary.

traveling alone

While a meeting between Prince Harry and King Charles could be on the cards, Meghan Markle will maintain her self-imposed exile from Britain, opting to stay in California with the couple’s two children, Archie and Lilibet.

Since June 2022, when the Sussexes visited Charles for the late Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations, the pair have not seen their grandchildren.

Prince Harry, Meghan Markle

Meghan recently spoke about the time she was separated from her children for three weeks, with the act making her “not well”. The Duchess of Sussex shared the confession in the second series of her Netflix programme, and while she did not elaborate on when she was apart from her children, there has been speculation she was referring to when the Sussexes unexpectedly remained in the UK due to the death of Queen Elizabeth II in 2022.

Given this, Harry will travel alone in the UK while she and Archie and Lilibet are staying with them.

A meeting between father and son

As King Charles is expected to be in the UK during Harry’s visit, many royal commentators and fans alike have speculated that the estranged father and son will reunite for the first time in almost two years.

His Majesty has been receiving cancer treatment, but the two haven’t seen one another since January of last year. A silent truce was called between Harry and his father, as they had a meeting lasting just 30 minutes.

Harry has long pleaded with King Charles and the royal family as a whole, and rumors of peace negotiations started to surface when senior aides to both Charles and Harry were spotted at a meeting in London in early July.

Many have speculated that Harry and Charles will reunite while Harry is in London(Image: POOL/AFP via Getty Images)

A US source told the Mirror that there is a strong possibility the pair will reunite, saying: “It’s clear there is now a determination on both sides to make this happen. Nobody is pretending the wider family issues have been resolved, but this is about beginning with Charles and Harry. For the first time in a long time, there’s a genuine sense that reconciliation is within reach.”

They continued: “After 20 months apart, and with the King continuing his treatment, the feeling is that the time is right to take that step. This is not about grand gestures or set-piece meetings – it’s about a simple face-to-face conversation between a father and his son. The priority is privacy and dignity, but also ensuring the door stays open for further dialogue. As for Harry and William, though, any chance of reconciliation between them has been rejected out of hand.”

While rumours have swirled about Prince Harry and King Charles meeting during the Duke of Sussex ’s brief trip to London, neither Buckingham Palace or the Sussex camp have confirmed such a meeting will take place.

Brothers at war

While Harry is expected to potentially have a long overdue reunion with his father King Charles during his rare trip to UK shores, it is extremely unlikely that the Duke of Sussex will see his estranged brother, Prince William.

After years of making public remarkations between the two princes, William is alleged to have firmly rejected any chance of a reunion with his brother. A source told the Mirror that Harry’s ongoing series of highly publicized allegations about the royal family have caused serious trust issues between the brothers.

The source said: “William feels Harry has repeatedly chosen public exposure over private resolution and that the Royal Family can’t keep being dragged into the headlines every time there’s a new contract to promote.”

Prince Harry, Prince William

They continued, “The trust issue with Harry and Meghan is one of trust.” They have lost all confidence in their ability to keep things private or their criticisms ever since moving to North America. For there to be any chance of moving forward, that trust has to be rebuilt, and Team Sussex knows the onus is on them. “

Former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond also weighed in on Harry and William’s relationship in light of the Duke of Sussex’s trip to the UK, as she told the Mirror that while Harry may reach out to some members of the royal family during his trip, he is unlikely to try and contact his brother.

She said, “Harry may well see some of his cousins, like Eugenie or Beatrice, but there aren’t likely to be a meeting with William or Catherine.” The rift between the brothers remains too deep and William has far too much going on in his life to worry about the Harry problem.

In a family dispute, “I would never say never.” It’s possible that William and Harry will find a resolution as the years pass. But that day – if it ever comes, and it may not – is not any time soon”.

security affliction

In May 2025, Prince Harry sensationally lost his Court of Appeal challenge over his security arrangements while in the UK. After the Executive Committee for the Protection of Royalty and Public Figures (Ravec) removed his high-level police protection when he stepped back from Royal duties and moved to the US in 2020, the Duke of Sussex took his case to court and lost.

Harry, who had previously argued that while he wanted to bring his wife and two children to the UK, it was not safe to do so without the help of taxpayer-funded police protection, was dealt a massive blow by the decision.

Prince Harry will undoubtedly be traveling with his own private security escort regardless of the ruling. He is not automatically entitled to public protection while traveling in the UK.

Meanwhile…

Ahead of the Prince’s visit reports have emerged suggesting he has not given up hope of returning his family to the UK.

According to the Sunday Times, Harry’s family members claim that they will never give up hope of visiting with Meghan and the kids in the future. A pal said: “He’s not given up hope on bringing his family back to the UK. He wants to show his children where he was raised. They are interested in knowing their locals. He really would like to come back to the UK much more”.

Clare Balding’s epic weight loss transformation after cutting out two foods from diet

Clare Balding, a broadcaster, admitted to cutting out some foods from her diet and sharing the details of her recent weight loss.

Beloved presenter Clare Balding revealed the specific foods she’s stopped eating as she shared her secret to losing weight. The 54-year-old BBC Sports presenter said that although she’s cut a few foods and drinks from her life, she doesn’t feel like she’s “depriving” herself of anything.

The broadcaster no longer eats pasta or bread after trying a low-carb diet, and tries to avoid sugar when she can. She also completely changed her approach to drinking alcohol and will replace a red wine with a gin and tonic. In a recent interview, Clare said: “I don’t feel like I’m depriving myself of things.”

The TV star no longer worries about what she wears because of her hard work, which has given her the “confidence” to do so.

Clare revealed the reasons behind her weight loss.

I have enormous bones, Clare continued in a conversation with Hello! However, I have a belt on, a pair of pants on, and a shirt tucked in, and I have spent years without being able to do that. That evokes a wonderful feeling.

Clare’s weight loss secrets come after she opened up about her major “house clear-out” with wife Alice Arnold in the coming months as they prepare to swap their London life for the countryside.

The couple currently reside in Chiswick. Their Tibetan terrier Archie was once walked around Chiswick House and along the Thames towpath.

Clare Balding and Alice Arnold
She discussed her and her wife’s plans before moving to her new home.

However the couple faced a heart-wrenching moment in 2020 when they had to have their beloved pet put down. The TV star says he left a “dog-shaped hole in their hearts” ever since.

Moving to the countryside would make it easier for Clare and Alice to welcome a new furry friend into the family. However, Clare said she is a “hoarder” and will have to tackle a lot of packing and reorganising before the move.

Clare said, “I’m not very tidy,” when talking to Woman and Home about her worst habits. And I occasionally hoard things. We are going to do a significant house cleanout ahead of a move, which will really upset me because I don’t like getting rid of things.

Clare is optimistic that moving away from London’s hustle and bustle will create a “good environment” for a new dog.

She stated to The Times that she wanted to leave London because one of the main factors was that there would be a little more room and road protection for dogs.

It’s our plan, which will likely be implemented in the spring once we’ve settled in. I’m happy to see a dog back in our lives.
