Ibom Air Hostess Threatened To Deal With Comfort Emmanson During Flight — Eyewitness

David Ogebe, a passenger aboard an Ibom Air flight in the centre of a viral incident has given a first-hand account, detailing what happened before the confrontation between a passenger, Comfort Emmanson, and a flight attendant escalated at the Lagos airport last Sunday.

Ogebe, who a guest on Channels Television’s breakfast programme The Morning Brief on Thursday, said one of the airline’s air hostesses threatened to deal with the female passenger during the flight.

The eyewitness said he sat directly beside Emmanson and saw “everything that transpired” on the aircraft.

According to him, the first air hostess was professional and polite, briefing passengers on emergency exit procedures before asking Emmanson to switch off her phone.

Ogebe recounted that tension began when a second air hostess approached “with a posture that showed she came for trouble,” repeating the instruction to Emmanson to switch off her phone.

The eyewitness said Emmanson explained that the buttons on her phone were not working and asked for help, which the crew member declined.

Ogebe said that the back-and-forth between the two attracted another passenger who eventually helped Emmanson switch off the device.

Ogebe stressed that Emmanson never refused to comply, saying, “She was trying to switch off her phone (but) she had issues switching it off.”

He said the exchange escalated when the second air hostess allegedly warned, “If you say another word, I will deal with you,” prompting an angry reaction laced with expletives.

Throughout the flight, Ogebe said Emmanson appeared visibly upset, muttering that she was being singled out despite paying for her ticket. He claimed the second air hostess “kept peeping” to check on her, while the first remained “very polite, amiable and professional.”

“If this whole issue had been handled by the first air hostess, it would not have come up at all, but Emmanson’s reaction was completely not commensurate with the situation,” he said, describing her behaviour during the arrest as “extremely violent.”

A fan of Oasis died just hours before he was due to see the band perform in Scotland. Alessandro Croce, 30, from Teramo in Italy, had flown in to see Liam and Noel Gallagher perform at their second show at Murrayfield Stadium in Edinburgh last week, as part of their mammoth Oasis Live’25 tour across the United Kingdom and Europe.

Sadly, the dentist fell ill at his hotel just hours before the concert, and despite attempts from emergency services and his friends, he died. Social media has been filled with tributes to the dentist, who was also a keen basketball player.

The mayor of his hometown, Gianguido D’Alberto said the town was “united in grief.” In a statement, D’Alberto, said: “The city of Teramo is united in grief over the loss of Alessandro Croce. Meanwhile, the president of BasketBall Teramo, Antonina Fidecaro said: “Alessandro was not only a pillar of our team, but an integral part of our history and the heart of our association. Alessandro played with our team for six seasons, he was our first captain in the 2012 and 2013.

“He dedicated his life to his passion for basketball, becoming an example of dedication, loyalty and sportsmanship for all of us, from the youngest to the veterans. His absence will leave an unfilled void in all of us, not only on the court but above all in our hearts.

“A wonderful boy, a wonderful family, who came to us from Teramo to start the University, then brilliantly finished to take on the same dentist profession as his father, he became a beniamon of all, loved for his untamed character on the field, for his smile and for his absolute manners. One of the stars of our first unforgettable senior season, when a team of dribbles, practically under, in the first year of Serie C stunned everyone reaching the playoffs with out-of-the-box games against experienced and bigger opponents, a group of brothers on and off the field that dragged literally everything the audience.

“We like to remember him this way, with the joy of him and his teammates, that we will never forget, about that team that everyone still has in their hearts. And we will all have Ale in our hearts forever, absolutely forever. It’s not fair, it can’t be fair, you can’t die at thirty.”

Following the devastating news, those who knew Alessandro have taken to social media to pay tribute.  One person said: “Honoured to have met Alessandro, after a few months his empathy, sensitivity and kindness are already evident… Values of other times A great loss for the world. Rest In Peace.”

A second person said: “R.I.P. Alessandro, wonderful boy. We will miss you a lot. It was always a pleasure to talk and compete with you. Condolences to the whole family. Goodbye, great doctor. I love you.” “News I never wanted to read. Alessandro is a golden boy not only in terms of sport but above all as a person… My heart aches and my thoughts are with his family,” wrote a third.

The devastating news comes after a fan of the band fell to his death at their concert held at Wembley Stadium in London. Lee Claydon had been sitting in the Level 5 area of the national stadium during the sold-out concert. He is understood to have fallen from a high level and suffered “injuries consistent with a fall.” He had attended the concert with his brother, Aaron, his niece and his nephew.

Although he wasn’t in attendance, Lee’s dad believes that he may have slipped on beer due to the floors being wet. “There was beer all over the floor, it was really slippery, and Lee just slipped and fell,” he told The Sun. “I’ve been told that it was an accident waiting to happen. It was a horrible, horrible accident.”

Meghan Markle has been snubbed by an A-list celebrity who previously appeared on the her podcast, in a bizarre interview.

Legendary singer Mariah Carey was asked about her royal connections in an interview with Hits Radio, in which she discussed her upcoming performance at King Charles’ Sandringham House.

Instead of name dropping Meghan Markle, in a brutal snub, Mariah instead cited meeting Sarah Ferguson, the Duchess of York, who she fondly described as “cool”. Mariah chose not to mention the Duchess of Sussex, who she met in 2022 when she appeared on her early Archetypes podcast. It comes after it emerged Meghan Markle’s ‘inappropriate’ living request was ‘firmly denied’ by late Queen.

Mariah Carey has snubbed Meghan Markle in an awkward interview moment

Some have suggested that Mariah’s snub could be reference to an awkward moment between the two on the podcast when the songstress branded Meghan a ‘Diva’ – something she was quick to clarify wasn’t a bad thing.

The pair discussed the “complexities surrounding the word diva” and lifted the lid on the negative connotations associated with it before Carey accused the Duchess of being a “diva”, herself.

Remarking that the description was tied to Meghan’s posture, clothing and her “gorgeous ensembles”, she insisted that it wasn’t a dig at her personality, however the exchange remained awkwardly strained despite Mariah’s clarification.

Meghan said on the podcast: “I think that’s really important for people to remember that there might be this persona, and yes, the diva thing, we can play into,” before adding: “It’s not something I connect to.”

However, Mariah was quick to disagree, insisting that Meghan was on occasion, a little diva-like herself: “You give us diva moments sometimes, Meghan…”

“What kind of diva moments do I give you?” a shocked Meghan replied, to which the singer said: “Don’t act like…”, before the Duchess questioned: “Can you see me right now?”

“It’s also the visual, it’s the visual,” Mariah explained. “A lot of it is the look, let’s say you, let’s pretend that you weren’t so beautiful and didn’t have the whole thing, and didn’t often have gorgeous ensembles, you wouldn’t maybe get as much diva.”

“I don’t care, I’m like when I can, I’m going to give you diva,'” she added. Clearly disagreeing on the subject, Meghan then calmly retorted: “That’s the thing, I associate it differently.”

Tinubu, Okonjo-Iweala In Closed-Door Meeting

President Bola Tinubu on Thursday received the Director-General of the World Trade Organisation, Dr Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, at the Aso Villa in Abuja.

Tinubu and Okonjo-Iweala were in a closed-door meeting at the nation’s political capital where they discussed trade matters as they relate to national, continental and global relevance.

In a chat with newsmen after the meeting, the WTO boss, who was in company of Trade Minister Jumoke Oduwole, said, “We came to brief him about something very joyful that we did today with the help of the first lady.

“We launched a Women’s Exporters’ Fund for the digital economy. This is a fund that is jointly managed by the World Trade Organisation and the International Trade Centre and support women to weather the storms of the economy and create jobs for themselves.

“It is part of the thinking of social safety net and what we can do to support Nigerian women to contribute more to the economy and to themselves.

“Nigeria competed and one, one of four countries that won globally to be part of this initiative.

“We have 67,000 Nigerian women who applied for this and 146 of them won and they are going to have money disbursed directly to them.

“16 of them won what we called the Booster Track; those who already have businesses but their businesses would be scaled up. They would receive technical and business supports from the WTO and the ITC for 18 months.

“Another 100 would get $5,000 each to start and strengthen their businesses, with 12-month reforms.”

The Nigerian president’s meeting with Okonjo-Iweala occurred two weeks before the expiration of her first term as WTO boss on August 31, 2025, and the commencement of her second term on September 1, 2025.

The renowned development economist and global finance expert made history in 2021 as the first African and first woman to lead the 164-nation-member WTO.

To celebrate the Princess Anne’s 75th birthday, Buckingham Palace shared a tribute to the hard-working royal, only for the post to quickly be deleted

After posting 75 facts about Princess Anne in honour of her birthday, eagle-eyed royal fans noticed a major error in the Palace’s post(Image: Getty)

Buckingham Palace has been left red-faced after a birthday tribute to Princess Anne didn’t go according to plan. The Palace had released a list of 75 facts about the Princess Royal in honour of her upcoming 75th birthday on tomorrow.

However, one so-called fact caused quite a stir among Royal enthusiasts, leading to the entire post being removed.

The contentious point was number fourteen on the list, which claimed that Anne, King Charles’ sister, had two stepchildren from her second marriage to Vice Admiral Sir Timothy Laurence. The Palace even named these supposed stepchildren as Tom and Amy Laurence. It comes after Kate halted her summer break to release new video with emotional statement.

This information was quickly debunked by eagle-eyed fans who pointed out that Sir Tim, a retired Royal Navy officer, had not been previously married before tying the knot with Princess Anne in December 1992. Furthermore, there has never been any mention of him having children from a previous relationship.

Anne herself has two children, Zara Tindall and Peter Phillips, from her first marriage to Captain Mark Phillips. Despite the Palace removing the page from its website, it still appears on Google, and the tweet has also been deleted, reports the Express

One user who noticed the mistake commented: “#14 Tom and Amy Laurence? Either I’ve gone crazy or Sir Tim Laurence has secret children.” They added: “Pretty sure this is an error, but how did that happen? I can’t think of any Tom & Amy siblings in the extended royal family.”

Another chimed in with: “That would be the best hidden royal secret ever.” A third person disputed: “This is not true. Sir Tim does not have children from a previous relationship.”

A fourth individual queried: “That is so odd? Could it be an AI mistake? Someone at BP made that list with chatgpt but didn’t check it? Otherwise that would be one heck of a plot twist.”

A fifth person simply exclaimed: “Wild.”
