Grammy nominee ’embarrassed’ as tour cancelled after plea to fans over gigs

Julia Michaels-based JP Saxe’s solo tour has been canceled, according to Saxe, whose song If the World Was Ending was nominated for a Grammy in 2019.

Singer-songwriter JP Saxe has announced that his tour has now been cancelled. The Grammy-nominated artist was due to embark on a series of headline shows next month but has told fans that they will no longer be going ahead.

JP, 32, announced the Make Yourself at Home tour in June after his song If the World Was Ending, which featured his ex-partner Julia Michaels, was well-known after its release in 2019. In September and October, he was scheduled to travel to a number of cities in his home country, including Canada, the US, Brazil, and a number of other nations.

He however announced yesterday that the tour was cancelled and has said that he “didn’t sell enough tickets,” after sharing concern over the prospect. It comes after Taylor Swift sparks engagement rumours as fans spot Travis Kelce’s lock screen.

This week, JP informed fans that the tour was in danger of being postponed. He stated in a social media video, “I’m very embarrassed to tell you this, but I’m going to tell you anyway.” It will be canceled if I don’t sell my tour in the next 48 hours, or maybe even 20,000.

If we’re just not in a position to sell out these two or three cap venues, that’s fine, he continued. I’ve always wanted to connect deeply but not widely, and I always do that.

In a message to fans, JP stated that “just in case” they were putting off purchasing tickets until closer to the performances wouldn’t work because there wouldn’t be a show. He continued, “I’m grateful to you for caring about my songs and I hold on to a sliver of hope that I will see you in the fall,” depending on whether that happens or not.

The singer stated in the caption of the video, which was shared on platforms like TikTok, that he didn’t want to halt the tour. JP stated in the post that he didn’t want to cancel this s**t at the time, “48 hrs… f*** being cool about it.”

Later, he later admitted that his friends had told him to “ask for assistance” from fans, and that he had just released a second update yesterday. In the more recent video, he stated, “We sold a few thousand additional tickets over the past few days, and I’m beyond grateful to everyone who purchased one.” These few thousand tickets serve as a reminder that the façade of success can sometimes outweigh the power of failure.

The performance also served as a reminder of how “wonderful” it can be to ask others for assistance, according to the performer. He also wrote about how a “community come together” and described it as the “nicest the internet has ever been” for him.

Although the tour won’t continue, JP continued, “But what those few thousand tickets are not is enough to save this tour.” I apologize a lot. I apologize so much. A dorky ginger Canadian will express his or her full gratitude for every ticket purchased.

He continued, “I’m still a little embarrassed. I have a lot of ambition to prevent this from happening again, and I’m also trying my hardest to make the most of it so the squad can grow and these full rooms can be created. In the meantime, I love you and thank each and every one of you who purchased a ticket.

JP apologized once more in the caption, saying he was “so appreciative” of how his fans have “shown up” lately. He responded, “I’ve still got a lot in me to share with you thanks for giving a damn about my music.”

In a guest column for Variety, published yesterday, JP said that his team were told last week that ticket sales “weren’t where they needed to be”. He said that it was suggested that he cancel the tour and then “try again next year”.

Before revealing publicly that the tour was in danger, he claimed it was “more embarrassing” and that he had “shot too high” in retrospect based on his initial post. JP claimed that after telling his fans, it “felt strangely empowering” and that the experience would benefit his “growth.”

In a recent article, JP stated that “applause for success is fantastic. However, receiving praise for honesty in failure is more interesting. He continued, “It’s not as good for my ego as it is for my growth,” but perhaps it’s better.”

Maya Jama, the host of Love Island, is already one of the most popular and well-known TV personalities in the UK right now, but fans can anticipate seeing even more of her in the near future.

We might be about to see a lot more of Maya Jama as she eyes up a huge career move. The Love Island host is looking to cash in on her popularity by launching her own YouTube series.

Sources close to the presenter, 30, say she’s keen to follow in the footsteps of influencers such as Molly-Mae Hague, who make millions from their content. Maya even teased the plans on Instagram, calling out the “lurking likers”.

She wrote: “10 million eyes on my last post and 115 million in the last 30 days. The lurking to like ratio is crazy. Maybe I do need to start YouTube so I can convert the watchers to money.” It comes after Maya looked happier than ever as she shared a series of romantic snaps with Man City boyfriend Ruben Dias.

Maya launched a YouTube channel 12 years ago, but she hasn’t updated it in a while. She has reportedly been having discussions about how to monetize her popularity, according to sources.

The insider claimed that Maya is “very business-minded.” She realizes that Instagram is not financially viable, but she wants to maximize her potential to make money.

More than two million people subscribe to Molly-Mae’s YouTube channel, which generates significant income through brand acquisitions and ad revenue.

For her birth vlog, the former Love Islander reportedly made £4,000 in just 24 hours.

Maya, who will front the Love Island final on Monday, has her fingers in a number of pies. As well as presenting, she recently landed her “dream role” as a gangster’s wife in Guy Ritchie’s hit Netflix series, The Gentlemen.

She also co-owns the Swedish plant-based milk company Sproud, and she also has eyewear label MIJ Masks, as well as significant brand partnerships with Gordon’s Gin and Rimmel London Cosmetics.

The big news comes after Maya took the major step of going Instagram official with the new man in her life, Manchester City footballer Ruben Dias. And it looks as though things have been going from strength to strength over recent months, if her latest post is anything to go by.

Maya and Ruben spent quality time together on the party island of Ibiza after completing her filming duties. Maya can be seen laughing coyly into Ruben in a split second.

Ruben held her hand in a loving embrace while he was still there.

Maya has also shared holiday photos of the pair before this time, though. The TV presenter first posted adored photos of the couple while away in January.

On News Year’s Eve in December of last year, there was initial speculating about Maya dating Ruben.

At the MTV Europe Music Awards in Manchester in November, the pair bumped into one another.

Crawley falls late as India take upper hand

The Kia Oval, Day 3, of the Fifth Rothesay Test, is the fifth one.

India 224 (Nair 57, Atkinson 5-33, Tongue 3-57) &amp, 396 (Jaiswal 118, Tongue 5-125)

England 247 (Crawley 64, Brook 53, Krishna 4-62, Siraj 4-86) &amp, 50-1 (Siraj 1-11)

To win, England needs 324 runs.

After England had made steady progress in the chase of an impressive 374 in the fifth Test against India at The Oval, Zak Crawley was dismissed from the final ball of day three.

Mohammed Siraj won the opener for 14 as the hosts drew within 50-1 at the break, needing 324 more runs to win, with 34 runs scored for Ben Duckett, ending a gripping day.

After spending the majority of the day playing in front of brighter skies, India racked up 396 in the wake of Crawley’s departure, England will benefit from the much improved batting conditions.

Yashasvi Jaiswal’s sublime 118 is the highlight for tourists because it flattens and offers less seam movement.

Akash Deep added 107 for the third wicket with Jaiswal in a surprise maiden Test debut, which saw England struggle to get past the nightwatchman until the final ten minutes before lunch.

As England’s makeshift bowling line-up, which did not feature the injured Chris Woakes, toile admirably but were once more let down in the field, Deep was put down on 21 of the six dropped catches in the innings.

As England improved, Gus Atkinson pinched captain Shubman Gill for 12 with the first ball after lunch, but Ravindra Jadeja kept his excellent form with 53 and Washington Sundar blitzed four sixes in a 39-ball fifty to give India the lead.

Josh Tongue finished with 5-125 for his sincere efforts, having also dismissed Jaiswal earlier, and took the final three wickets.

Siraj’s successful start to England is ruined.

Crawley and Duckett’s fifty-run stand appeared just as assured despite not quite matching their 92-over partnership’s explosiveness in the first innings.

India initially used boundary riders at cover and square legs to encircle the flow of boundaries, but they continued to pick up gaps while maintaining a calm strike.

However, Siraj’s remarkable fitness to have won all five Tests so far, along with the discussions surrounding Jasprit Bumrah, gave them the lead into day four.

Crawley was too late for India’s jubilation when a full delivery angled in at his toes, but despite being favorites, they will be wary of England’s track record.

With the circumstances favoring the batters after two bowler-friendly days, it will be difficult for their Headingley heroics and a chase of 378 in 2022 to stay in India’s minds.

The pitch has yet to show any signs of favoring spin for Jadeja and Washington, and they only have three seamers, Deep, Krishna, and Siraj, who were all expensive in the first innings.

England’s sloppy mornings are punished by Deep and Jaiswal.

India had a 52-run lead at the start of the day, and the sun was shining for the best batting conditions in the Test so far.

Jaiswal, who had to be put down on 20 and 40 late in day three, took a backseat as England’s unlikely archrival, Deep.

In the opening hour, England bowled far too little, and Crawley missed a chance in the slips, but Deep’s half-century was a well-deserved punishment.

With Deep caught in the covers for 66, Overton’s breakthrough, which came just before lunch, gave hope to a comeback.

The imperious Jaiswal remained, surviving from 127 balls to record his second century of the series as a masterful punishment for England’s inconsistency. They bowled far too short and wide to him collectively, as evidenced by 72 of his 100 runs being scored behind square on the other side.

After lunch, England reacted favorably by tightening their lines and receiving the three wickets of Gill, Nair, and Jaiswal, but Jadeja once more became the team’s thorn in the second-innings.

The all-rounder finished the series with 516 runs, an average of 86, sharing stands of 44 with Jaiswal and 50 with Dhruv Jurel at his fifth season.

For the first time in the series’ two innings, Jadeja was dismissed in a final ball, and India’s lead was 334. This was a significant challenge, but it was achievable for an England batting line-up known for embracing such chases.

Two balls later, Tongue pinched Siraj as they attempted to end the match at a canter, but Washington, who was on 17 from 23 balls when the ninth wicket fell, had other ideas.

In a potentially match-winning partnership, England oddly went back to bowling short as he whacked four enormous sixes to half-century.

With little employment available for part-time spinners Joe Root and Jacob Bethell, who were already bowlers-down after Woakes’ shoulder injury on day one, stand-in captain Ollie Pope had little other options but to work his seamers relentlessly.

“We are really confident,” is the response.

Test Match Special’s Josh Tongue, England’s bowler, said, “It’s a replay of Headingley.” That game asked me a similar question.

If we get the runs, it will be a fantastic day of cricket and for us. It is moving in some.

“A few balls jumped off a good length tonight, but who knows if you’ll make it to the first hour?”

Yashasvi Jaiswal, the centurion of India, said, “I was always enjoying the pressure.”

“It is going well, and it’s not easy on this wicket because I’ve batted a lot,” he said.
