‘I partied like Ibiza Final Boss in iconic VIP nightclub – and one thing blew my mind’

I broke my Ibiza virginity in style at the renowned Pacha nightclub, writes Jamie Roberts, and it will be remembered for a number of reasons.

Baddest Behaviour at Pacha Ibiza(Image: THE MEDIA NANNY)

The brand Pacha is a globally recognised name and rightly so. It is widely known as being the iconic, glamorous, and historic nightclub that helped create the legendary dance culture on Ibiza 52 years ago.

I knew I had to take advantage of the summertime party VIP opportunity. At the age of 38, I was wondering if my more “chilled” outlook on these nights would allow me to travel the distance until the 6am curfew. Let’s face it, I’ve recently discovered that my preferred day of work is the beginning of the day rather than the sipping of tequila by thousands of revelers.

But, I knew I had to throw myself into the legend that is Pacha in full force as Dutch DJ Mau P headlined his fantastic Baddest Behaviour residency. Unlike some of the party island veterans, this may well have turned out to be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for me. And it’s safe to say that from the outset, the labyrinth that is Pacha Ibiza dragged me fully into its core.

Mau P
From the decks, Mau P was visible.

It was obvious at first that the iconic spot isn’t just relying on its name and hoping legends of the past would keep it afloat. One devoted employee, who proudly shared that he had worked for the company for over 40 years, admitted that his former office space is now an outdoor toilet as the space continues to evolve with the changes of society as I was shown around at the beginning of the night.

He explained how Pacha is determined to stay relevant and improve the experience by blaming the smoking ban and the Covid pandemic for the need to grow. The venue then made the decision to develop additional high-end boutiques for its eager revelers. However, despite expanding, the space still radiates a distinctive vibe every time.

The Paradiso rooftop bar deserves a special mention. Before midnight, anyone with a Pacha ticket can enter this area, which is a welcome addition for those looking for a quiet beverage before dancing until early in the night.

From both the Paradiso bar and the Pacha Family outside location, it became obvious that the venue was concentrating on enhanced comfort with its open-top forest-like feel.

However, thanks to an electronically tagged wristband, there were twists and turns once inside the venue that created new worlds. The space was significantly more available thanks to the exclusive Ricardo’s room, the special section floating above and behind the DJ booth, and the DJ booth’s exclusive space. You could also take the main floor and experience the busier vibe under the strobe lights and smoke cannons if you want to truly soak up the Pacha feel.

With its bolder than ever lighting and 360-degree immersive visuals, it is obvious that the club is proud to create a buzz. Despite the lavish amenities at the Pacha club and its impressive VIP, the apparent openness of smoking persisted throughout. As a non-smoker, this brought me back to my earlier, more intense partying days from 2005, just before the smoking ban became effective.

Even though the smoking ban has led to some opulent outdoor elements, it appeared that some private areas had a much more relaxed attitude.

But is Pacha Ibiza VIP a good investment? I’d say yes to this aging father-of-one, and I’m confident that those of all ages will benefit from fully experiencing one of the world’s most famous spots.

As for the Ibiza Final Boss, long may he enjoy his newfound fame and VIP treatment. He is lucky enough to be living his best life this summer – something I would also certainly do if anyone was to film this ginger Mr Muscle character-of-old lookalike!

Idah Celtic exit ‘very close’ amid Swansea interest

In response to Swansea City’s interest, Adam Idah’s departure from Celtic is “very close,” according to Parkhead manager Brendan Rodgers.

Due to future rumors, the Republic of Ireland striker was dropped from Rodgers’ Celtic squad for Sunday’s Old Firm game at Ibrox.

“It’s close. He told BBC Scotland’s Sportsound before the match that he was not present because the situation is “very close.”

Not just in the center forward position, but rather a number of players is required. I’m optimistic that the front line will receive the reinforcements we need in the next 24 hours.

After his side won comfortably at Sheffield Wednesday, Swansea manager Alan Sheehan had stated he could not comment on Idah’s pursuit of the club and instead praised Zan Vipotnik.

Idah’s signing by Swansea came on the heels of Swansea’s initial expectations, only for the Glasgow giants to postpone the deal.

Before the transfer deadline on Monday, it’s thought Vipotnik might be traded to make room for Idah.

Sheehan said he would “like to think” the Slovenian forward will stay at the club after the Swansea win 2-0 at Hillsborough after Vipotnik scored for the third time in as many games.

Swansea’s head coach expressed his “absolute delight” with him right now.

His performance in the Sheffield Wednesday game, which he scored three times, was outstanding.

On Wednesday, Vipotnik made his first league start of the year and fired home Swansea’s opener before Ronald headed in the second goal.

Vipotnik, 23, has had his best year of form since arriving in Wales in 2024, with Swansea having to pay a sizable fee to secure Idah’s services.

Celtic’s desire to find a replacement before approving the former Norwich City player’s departure has stalled Idah’s proposed move to the Championship club.

Sheehan said, “I think if you ask Celtic potentially, you’d get the answer to that question. “When it was suggested whether Idah’s move would only happen once Celtic signed a forward.

“I am unable to speak for Celtic.” Every Swansea fan who came to Hillsborough, every staff member, and every player is speaking in my name.

Abbey Clancy issues husband Peter Crouch an ultimatum with ‘change needed’

Abbey Clancy, the mother-of-four, admitted she wanted “a change” while speaking on their podcast, The Therapy Couch, with her husband, a former football player.

Peter Crouch has acknowledged receiving an “ultimatum” from his wife, Abbey Clancy.

England star, Peter Crouch, has admitted that his wife, Abbey Clancy, has given him an “ultimatum” after the Scouser insisted she needed a “change”.

The couple, who share four kids, Sophia,13, Liberty, nine, Johnny, seven, and Jack, five – and have been married since 2011 – speak candidly about their relationship on their podcast, The Therapy Couch, which boasts a legion of loyal fans on TikTok.

Abbey, 39, isn’t shy about tackling tricky subjects on the show and this week it was revealed that she’s asked the former footballer, 44, to do up their stunning £3m house in Surrey – or buy a new one.

When talking to her husband, a former football player, Peter Crouch, Abbey Clancy admitted she wanted “a change.”

Peter and her husband discuss moving or raising the house in a recent episode of the well-known podcast.

He continued, “Well, how about we do none of those,” revealing where he was on the idea. She said, “I want to change a few cupboards, and there are a few things.”

I said, “Ok, that sounds fine, but it’s now completely redesigned.”

Abbey interjecting, “I just think we should just do it once and do it perfect.”

Peter Crouch
Peter doesn’t agree with it.

However, Peter said, “The house is lovely and we just stay in it. “Clearly at odds with his wife over what his mega mansion might look like.

However, because they’ve been here for 11 years, things are starting to go and things are getting a little shabby, Abbey continued, “The house is lovely, but because we’ve been here for a while, and things are getting a little shabby.

“There’s certain rooms in the house that we just don’t use, so I wanna bring them all together and make an incredible house that suits our way of life.”

She continued, “If I did Peter’s bar and all his friends could come over and watch the footy,” making an appeal to Peter’s sporting background.

We had four children, and I wanted my house to be the hub, and it’s just fun for everyone. When we built this house, it was only me, Pete, and Sophia.

You’re in your home 99% of your life, don’t you, really?

Abbey Clancy
Fans were divided by Abbey’s demands for her stunning home.

Fans were divided over Abbey’s demands after the TikTok clip, which amassed an impressive 192, 000 in 21 hours.

Some claimed that the next-top model star of Britain was right to want the house of her dreams, saying “100% with Abbey.”

Another person responded, “Her explanation does make sense. 11 years is a long time, and kitchens and other areas of the house are frequently in great need, especially with kids.

However, others criticized the model as being “bored,” with one model saying, “Bored woman with too much money just looking for something to do,” and another simply quipped, “Too much money.”

Villa keeper Martinez back on Man Utd radar

Images courtesy of Getty

Before the transfer deadline of Monday, Manchester United is considering moving for Aston Villa goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez.

United have been negotiating with Royal Antwerp regarding their highly regarded 23-year-old Belgian Senne Lammens in order to solve their goalkeeping problems.

Lammens, who has missed the previous two games due to injury, wants to join United. The Belgian Pro League club must sell in order to meet a previous loan that was taken out on an external level.

Martinez won the World Cup with Argentina and was the second-time Fifa goalkeeper of the year with 197 Premier League appearances, despite the fact that he lacks high-level experience.

Andre Onana and Altay Bayindir, the team’s current keepers, have both already made mistakes this year. Without Bruno Fernandes’ injury-time penalty, Bayindir’s most recent error would have prevented United winning against Burnley.

Should United decide to sign the Belgium youngster, Galatasaray are interested in Lammens, but they may also be interested in Bayindir or Onana.

United sources are putting pressure on United to sign at least one goalkeeper before the window closes on Monday at 19:00 BST.

At the beginning of the summer, they inquired about signing 32-year-old Martinez on loan, but Villa denied their concerns.

Love Island’s Dr Alex says he’s ‘afraid’ as he shares health news

Dr. Alex George cried fear out loud when he said, “It’s scary how fast function and capacity are declining.”

Dr Alex George(Image: Dr Alex George/Instagram)

Dr Alex George has opened up about his thoughts on getting older in a heartfelt social media post. The 34-year-old doctor, who shot to fame on Love Island, admitted he’s somewhat ‘afraid of ageing’ and has been thinking about it a lot over the past year.

“At the end of my life, I want the decline to be as short as possible,” he told his 2.1 million followers on Instagram this week. “Or in other words I want my health-span to be long and then to die quickly.

I appreciate how strange it may seem, but I don’t want to go through a slow, gradual decline that will prevent my frailty and preventable illness from living fully. Dr. Alex acknowledged that life can be unpredictable and that many things are “out of our hands,” but he also believes that everyone can make small choices to prolong their lives.

Without prior authorization, content cannot be displayed.

In light of this, he’s started making changes in his own life to help enhance his longevity and prevent future health problems. Dr Alex continued: “I have been thinking about ageing a lot over the last year, I think it’s a common experience for many people entering their 30s.

“It’s frightening to the life out of me (couldn’t help it)”: the notion of declining function and capacity for life. I’m not advocating that we shouldn’t embrace age as a component of the human experience because it is inevitable and can be beautiful in every way. But why, then, can we not live as healthily as possible?

Crucially, Dr. Alex emphasized that he is more interested in living the “equal number of years” in a healthy and active way rather than “exciting an excessive increase” in his life. He continued, “I have started making changes to my life over the past year in an effort to increase my longevity.”

“I’m still learning and adding things, as well as removing things.” I’m kind of funny that I started running marathons in my 30s and taking vitamins because I’ve really grown to be so aware of this. I’d like to share what I’m doing as well as the science and justification for these practices if it interests you.

Dr Alex’s thoughts come amidst a wealth of emerging research on ‘biohacking’ and lifestyle practices that have the potential to bolster long-term health. While there’s certainly no guaranteed or foolproof method to living longer, scientists often assert that exercise, a nutritious diet, enough sleep and even socialisation may help.

Dr Gareth Nye, a Biomedical Science lecturer at the University of Salford, previously told the Mirror: “In essence, a long life is down to luck, but you can improve your luck. Genetics seems to play a role and influences between 20-30% of your total lifespan through a range of factors, like disease risk, hormone balance and cell replacement rates.

However, it is believed that about 40% of life expectancy is passed down through generations, making you more likely to live longer than your parents and grandparents did.

Regarding his own content, Dr. Alex also stated on Instagram that “I will be clear where the evidence is less conclusive and let you know things the scientific community thinks are absurd (there is a lot of nonsense out there”).

In the end, I believe my content should reflect my current interests. And my new interest is to increase my health as much as possible while also having a “b***** good time” (what’s the point otherwise).

The Global Sumud Flotilla to Gaza: Everything you need to know

As part of an international maritime initiative aimed at distributing humanitarian aid to Gaza’s starving population, a global fleet of boats is gearing up to sail for the region.

The first convoy, which will arrive in Tunisia on September 4 and consists of dozens of small civilian vessels carrying activists, doctors, nurses, seafarers, and humanitarian supplies, is scheduled to leave from Spanish ports on August 31.

More than 50 ships and delegations from at least 44 nations are gathered together for the Global Sumud Flotilla, according to organizers, making it the largest maritime mission to Gaza.

Which nations are participating?

As part of the largest maritime mission to end Israel’s illegal siege, delegations from 44 nations have already agreed to sail to Gaza, according to the Global Sumud Flotilla.

The flotilla will include nations like Australia, Brazil, South Africa, and numerous other European nations from six different continents.

Participants don’t belong to any political party or government, according to the group.

Who are the participating groups?

Four significant coalitions, including those who have previously participated in land and sea missions to Gaza, are organizing this mission:

  • Global Movement to Gaza (GMTG): A grassroots movement organizing global solidarity marches to end the siege of Gaza.
  • Freedom Flotilla Coalition (FFC): With 15 years of experience operating ships, including ships like the Madleen and Handala, FFC provides practical guidance, hands-on advice, guidance, and operational support for the ongoing efforts to break the Gaza blockade.
  • The Maghreb Sumud Flotilla, formerly known as the Sumud Convoy, is a North African-based initiative that sends solidarity missions to Palestinian communities.
  • Sumud Nusantara, a people-led convoy from Malaysia and eight other nations, aims to end the blockade in Gaza and foster global South solidarity.

They will collectively form the largest civilian flotilla ever to be coordinated.

Who are the involved parties?

The coalition, which includes organisers, humanitarians, doctors, artists, clergy, lawyers, and sailors, is made up of people who share the same belief as the Global Sumud Flotilla website and who also share a common belief: the siege and genocide must end.

Greta Thunberg, a historian in Sweden, Kleoniki Alexopoulou, a socioscientist and lawyer, Karen Moynihan, a social scientist and activist, Saif Abukeshek, Muhammad Nadir al-Nuri, activist Marouan Ben Guettaia, activist Wael Nawar, activist Hayfa Mansouri, activist and social researcher, and activist Torkia Chaibi are just a few members of the steering committee.

Tens of thousands of people have signed up to take part in the initiative, despite the fact that hundreds will sail from the organized fleet.

On June 1, 2025, in Catania, Italy, Greta Thunberg, center, and Thiago Avila, right, speak to journalists.

How long will it take the ships to arrive in Gaza and when?

Saif Abukeshek stated in a press briefing from Barcelona’s Placa del Rei that the precise number would be later and that security concerns had prevented the specific ports and ships from being disclosed.

The fleet’s estimated 3, 000 km (1, 620 nautical miles) journey to Gaza will take between seven and eight days, according to the group.

Why do people need to send aid by sea, and what is a flotilla?

A flotilla is a group of ships or boats tasked with delivering essential supplies, including food, medicine, and other goods, to areas in need. When traditional supply routes, such as air and land corridors, are blocked or inaccessible, they are typically organized.

Israel has tight control over Gaza’s airspace and territorial waters since 2007 and has since slowed down movement of people and goods. After Israel bombed and destroyed the Yasser Arafat International Airport in 2001, just three years after it opened, Gaza had no functioning airports.

Humanitarian and grassroots flotillas are typically governed by naval laws and are protected by international organizations.

The Sumud flotilla aims to confront Israel’s blockade head-on and send the message that the siege must end by providing aid by sea.

What happened to earlier flotillas?

The blockade of Gaza has been broken by a number of Freedom Flotilla vessels.

The Free Gaza Movement’s first naval blockade breach was completed in 2008 when two boats successfully reached Gaza. Between 2008 and 2016, the movement, which was started by activists during Israel’s occupation of Lebanon, launched 31 boats, five of which reached Gaza despite severe Israeli restrictions.

Following the mission’s completion in 2010, Freedom Flotilla II was launched in 2011. It was a coalition of international activists and NGOs’s intended use of Gaza as a humanitarian aid delivery point.

Freedom Flotilla III in 2015

In 2015, international activists made their third major attempt to break Israel’s naval blockade of Gaza. The FFC-managed mission involved a number of vessels, with Marianne of Gothenburg, Sweden’s Marianne, leading the charge.
