Jorgen Strand Larsen, who scored twice in the win over West Ham on Tuesday, has been turned down by Wolves.

Following a £50m rejection earlier this week, the Magpies had returned with a £55m offer.

With the transfer window closing on Monday and the team’s ability to find a replacement, Wolves do not want to sell the Norway international.

Alexander Isak, a striker from Sweden who hasn’t played for the Magpies in a while trying to make a move to Liverpool, is looking for new firepower.

With a final eight minutes of the game, Wolves defeated West Ham 3-2 in the EFL Cup on Tuesday, Strand Larsen came off the bench to score twice. He had only signed for a £23 million loan deal with Celta Vigo this summer.

Even though he wants to keep the forward, boss Vitor Pereira later refused to rule out a sale.

Every player has a price, even [Lionel Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo], he said. Football is very important to me, but I understand it. What will occur, we’ll keep you informed.

He stays, of course, if it’s my choice. He plays a very significant role.

Strand Larsen, who scored 14 Premier League goals last season, has remained a professional, and Pereira believes the 25-year-old will not be forced to make a move, is an attractive option there.

He said, “I know a lot of players in my career who have asked me not to play, but he wants to play every time.” He wants to assist the team.

Travis Kelce’s months-long quest for perfect ring as Taylor Swift grew ‘antsy’ over delay

Ed Kelce, the son of Travis Kelce, revealed that Taylor Swift was “going a little antsy” about the Kansas City Chiefs tight end’s proposal to him.

Taylor Swift’s future father-in-law has revealed the newly engaged singer was getting “a little antsy” about how long Travis Kelce was taking to get down on one knee.

Ed Kelce says his son has tried to put Taylor “off till this week” in order to make his proposal “a big special event” but the NFL star eventually listened to his dad’s advice and popped the question earlier this month.

Taylor, 35, and the Kansas City Chiefs tight end, 35, announced their engagement in a joint Instagram post last night, which showed pictures of him proposing to her and the pair embracing in a rose garden.

The caption reads, “Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married,” and the post featured the track “So High School” from Taylor’s album The Tortured Poets Department.”

Fans initially assumed the lavish proposal had taken place in Travis’ $6 million mansion, but Ed has confirmed that the most recent chapter of their romance, which took place close to the sportsman’s residence in Lee’s Summit Mossouri, actually took place there.

Travis planned to hold off until this week. Taylor [was] getting a little antsy, but he was going to put her off until this week to, you know, create some magnificent things to make it a significant special event,” Ed told News5Cleveland this morning.

When you kneel down on one knee and ask her to marry you, I told him repeatedly, “You know, you could do it on the side of the road, do it anywhere that makes it special.”

Ed revealed that he and Taylor’s father, Scott Swift, were involved in the proposal planning during an interview with The Today Show on Channel Nine’s breakfast program, and that the big reveal actually occurred a few weeks ago.

He added, “He wanted to make it special,” Travis’ mother and Taylor’s parents had all anticipated this. They are “just so happy and good together.” He hasn’t been happier, in my opinion.

Additionally, Ed revealed that the happy couple hasn’t yet decided when to wed. Taylor’s engagement ring is an Old Mine Brilliant Cut, according to the PA news agency, and Kindred Lubeck of Artifex Fine Jewellery created her jewelry.

Swifties have praised Travis for matching the perfect engagement ring with their idol’s aesthetic and style.

After he failed to meet Taylor when she performed for the Chiefs at Arrowhead Stadium, Travis announced on his New Heights podcast, which he hosts with his brother Jason, two years ago.

Taylor described her future husband as a “vibe booster” during her appearance on his New Heights podcast earlier this month, which included her announcement of her upcoming album The Life Of A Showgirl, which will be released in October.

The engagement photo was shared on the podcast’s Instagram account, which had a photo of former Philadelphia Eagles player Jason cheering, with the caption “this pretty much sums up everyone’s reaction.”

A clip from the episode in which Travis first addressed Taylor was also reposted on the page. When asked how the concert he attended went, he responded, “Well, I was disappointed that she didn’t speak at either her show because she had to concentrate on the 44 songs she sang.” I was so embarrassed that I didn’t give her one of the bracelets I had made.

He added: “If you’re up on Taylor Swift concerts there are friendship bracelets, and I received a bunch of them, being there, but I wanted to give Taylor Swift one with my number on it.” His brother asked him whether he meant his phone number or his shirt number, 87, to which Travis replied “you know which one”.

In a top hat and tails, Travis helped Taylor prepare for the performance of The Tortured Poets Department section of the show at One of Taylor’s Eras Tour shows at Wembley Stadium on June 23. He arrived on stage as he helped her prepare for the performance of I Can Do It With a Broken Heart.

Taylor changed the lyrics to her song Karma from 2022’s Midnights album from “karma is the guy on the screen coming straight home to me” to “karma is the guy on the Chiefs coming straight home to me,” in reference to Kelce during the Eras Tour.

Sinner, Swiatek Romp Through At US Open As Gauff Struggles

Jannik Sinner, the reigning world no. 1, won the second round of the US Open on Tuesday, helping women’s draw favorite Iga Swiatek to win the title.

Italian superstar Sinner defeated Czechosia’s 89-ranked Vit Kopriva 6-1, 6-1, and 6-2, only needing 1h 38min to advance to the next round.

“It feels wonderful to be back here.” It’s a very special tournament, according to Sinner, who is attempting to become the first man to win the US Open five times between 2004 and 2008.

In the third round, Alexei Popyrin will face Sinner, 24.

Sinner, who had to withdraw from last week’s Cincinnati Open final against Carlos Alcaraz, expressed his happiness that he is back in good health.

“I have some incredible memories from last year.” Each year has its own uniqueness. You’re starting this tournament, he said, “hopefully in the best way possible, which I did.”

Swiatek from Poland equaled Sinner’s blistering start on the Arthur Ashe Stadium court, who won 6-1, 6-2 over Emiliana Arango from Colombia.

The 24-year-old Polish woman always had the upper hand over the 84th-ranked Arango, who defeated him with some powerful groundstrokes and deft net work.

With the win, Monica Seles’ previous record of 64 wins in a WTA first-round match is broken by Monica Seles, who becomes the first woman in history to do so.

In her post-game press conference, Swiatek’s performance was relegated to a footnote despite the questions dominated by Taylor Swift’s engagement to NFL player Travis Kelce.

Swiatek was a fully paid-up “Swiftie” (the abbreviation for Swift’s millions of devoted fans) when she learned about the singer’s upcoming wedding.

She deserves the best, Swiatek said, “so I’m just happy for her.”

Suzan Lamens from Netherlands will face the six-time Grand Slam singles champion in the second round, which she won in New York in 2022.

However, in a grueling late-night battle that lasted less than three hours, 2023 women’s singles champion Coco Gauff was forced to claw her way past Australia’s Ajla Tomljanovic as Sinner and Swiatek advanced to the second round.

Before finally winning 6-4, 6-7 (2 / 7), 7-5 against Tomljanovic, who is ranked 79th in the world, Gauff made 59 unforced errors and 10 double faults.

Gauff acknowledged that the tournament had caused her to feel drained, but that she is happy to make it to the next round.

On the eve of the US Open, Gauff overhauled her coaching staff in an effort to improve her service skills. She won her second Grand Slam of her career earlier this year.

It’s been really difficult, mentally draining, Gauff said, “to be honest.” “But I’m trying,” Although today’s performance wasn’t the best, it was still a step up from last week.

Naomi Osaka, a two-time Olympic champion, was unable to defeat Belgium’s Green Minnen 6-3, 6-4, despite Gauff’s humbling victory.

The former world number one from Japan was delighted to return to a place she cherished as a home.

Osaka, who is seeded 23rd and will next face American Hailey Baptiste, said, “Whenever I play here, the atmosphere feels like home, and it is home for me.”

In his opening match, third-seeded men’s champion Alexander Zverev defeated Chile’s Alejandro Tabilo in straight sets.

Zverev’s victory over the 122nd-ranked Tabilo 6-2, 7-6 (7/4), 6-4 in a match that lasted until Wednesday’s early hours prevented him from making it a second-round exit at Wimbledon last month.

The German, a three-time Grand Slam runner-up, saved a set point in the second set before sealing victory with a break in the match’s final set.

Angela Scanlon says ‘well-known’ celeb asked ‘creepy’ question before going live on air

The One Show presenter admitted to having an inappropriate question posed to her moments before the live broadcast began, but did not name the star.

A “very well-known” celebrity guest on The One Show allegedly acted like a “creep” while filming, according to Angela Scanlon.

The TV presenter has revealed the incident without naming the host of the question, revealing that he had a “raging internal conflict” after questioning whether or not to show his behavior on television. He had asked the actress an inappropriate question moments before the show went live.

Angela, 41, stated on the Where There’s A Will, Theres a Wake podcast that she was performing a live performance before the recording began.

A male guest who is very, very well-known was the co-host, and it was me and a male co-host.

He sat opposite me, and I’m a busy woman; I helped me figure out where we were going, how to interpret the VTs, and other things.

I waved him in with open arms and sat down and did what I had to do, which was presumably what he was doing.

Anyway, he turned around to me just before we went live and said, “I was wearing jeans and a blazer, not that should matter,” but he then inquired, “Is it okay to wear panties underneath those?” Then, boom, we’re live on air again.

Angela continued, “He was such a creep,” adding that it would have been “unprofessional” to criticize him for his remarks on the show. Too much was it.

Because I’m a woman who defends herself, I would have been a victim of the raging internal conflict.

Angela previously admitted to stumbling upon her TV skills to get a job on The One Show.

She stated on the show that “[The TV boss] said, “Have you ever done studio?” and I responded, “Yes, I’ve done a lot of it in Ireland.”

Then I left for Robot Wars and received a call saying, “They want you to fill in on The One Show. I was on a train learning how to read autocue, but I had no idea what I was doing.

I’m too afraid to say, “I don’t know what open and switch means you’re going to literally break this down for me,” my friends.

I should have stated in front of everyone that “These are my limitations, I need help: I think I can do it, I’m pretty sure I can, but I might need your assistance.”

Whereas I simply shut down my business and had to act as though I knew what I was doing, which was very lonely.

“I had deceived myself into thinking that everything would be fantastic if I achieved these things.”

FEMA workers put on leave after letter criticising Trump administration

According to the nonprofit that published the letter, some FEMA employees were given leave after signing an open letter of disapproval of the agency’s leadership.

The employees, who were outraged over budget cuts, personnel decisions, and other changes enacted under President Donald Trump, were given administrative leave on Tuesday after signing an open letter the day before, which they claimed could recreate the circumstances that caused the widely criticized FEMA response to the hurricane in 2005.

Stand Up for Science, a non-profit organization, announced in a statement on Tuesday that “we can confirm that several FEMA employees who publicly signed the Katrina Declaration have been taken administrative leave.”

The development is likely to stoke concerns that the administration of US President Donald Trump will tolerate dissention. 139 US employees signed a letter criticizing Trump’s policies and were given administrative leave by the agency in July.

As of Tuesday night, the letter was signed by more than 190 signatories, the majority of whom opted not to speak out in secret because they were concerned about reprisals.

According to The New York Times on Tuesday evening, “Around 30” employees were fired because of their email review.

According to Stand Up for Science, “once more, we are seeing the federal government retaliate against our civil servants for whistleblowing,” which is both a grave betrayal of the most devoted of all.

Virginia Case, a supervisory management and program analyst, informed CNN that she had been given a paid leave notice on Tuesday evening.

According to the US outlet, Case said, “I’m disappointed but not surprised.”

Regardless of what it might mean for our jobs, I’m also proud of those of us who stepped up. If this keeps going, the public should be aware of what is happening.

According to The Washington Post, the employees who have been suspended will continue to receive benefits and pay.

The Trump administration “has made accountability and reform a priority,” according to FEMA’s press secretary on Monday, adding that the agency has been burdened by red tape and inefficiencies.

Trump has stated that he wants to end FEMA and allow states to “take care of their own problems” since making a brief appearance in the White House in January.

This year, roughly 2, 000 FEMA employees, or a third of its workforce, have been fired, bought out, or taken out of early retirement.

More than 1,800 people died in New Orleans as a result of Hurricane Katrina’s catastrophic flooding. The ineffectiveness of the US response to it contributed to its reputation as one of the worst natural disasters in US history. The Post-Katrina Emergency Reform Act was passed by Congress in 2006.

Meet Britain’s first Sikh female pro boxer

Network for Humber Boxing

A 13-year-old girl waited patiently for her younger brother to begin his boxing session in a quiet gym in Hull.

She lacked gloves and no desire to participate.

Eight years later, Charan Kaur Dhesi has established himself as a boxing pro. She is the first Sikh woman to compete professionally in the professional ranks of boxing at the age of 21, breaking ground for both her sport and her community.

She tells BBC Sport, “I’ve just started making history.”

However, her journey has been challenging. Dhesi has faced cultural opposition, skepticism, and financial pressure as a South Asian woman competing in a sport that is predominantly male.

But with every punch, she turns opponents into supporters.

From the England team’s doorway

Dhesi was born into a sports-loving family, where his father, who advocated physical activity over academic endeavors, was a father.

People find this to be crazy because my parents never pursued my studies. They “pushed boxing,” she claims. I have two brothers, I say. Our father raised us all in sports.

However, the original plan did not include boxing. Dhesi, who had a history of karate, discovered the sport by accident when her brother joined a nearby gym.

“I had no idea what boxing was at first,” I said. I arrived at the gym [to my little brother’s request] and was just standing in the doorway when the coaches urged me to join in.

She initially opposed it, but she persevered and discovered something unique.

making the Sikh and Punjabi communities proud.

Charan Kaur Dhesi drops Amy Greatorex in the fourth roundNetwork for Humber Boxing

Dhesi never looked back since that day. She won three national titles, a silver medal from Europe, and three international crowns while competing as a young amateur.

But accolades were never the only thing that mattered. By launching a career in boxing, Dhesi wanted to challenge stereotypes.

However, turning professional presented new challenges and a fresh spotlight, particularly within her own neighborhood.

Who will marry you if you get hurt, I was asked, I was told. Shouldn’t you be in the kitchen, please? It was quite negative, and even said, “What’s your plan B? ” ‘.

She says, “But my plan A is boxing, and my plan B is boxing.”

When Dhesi made her professional debut in May, she immediately had an immediate impact by winning by knockout, and she immediately responded with her fists. Both her story and the clip went viral.

The same people who were skeptical of my abilities suddenly applauded me for standing up for the Punjabi and Sikh communities, she adds.

funded by parents and inspiring a generation

Although Dhesi’s success may have caused some media coverage, daily life is still a grind. Her entire career is still being supported by her parents, despite no sponsorship.

“I don’t work because I’m training,” I say. It’s therefore challenging. She claims that I’m missing out on training opportunities, better equipment, and frequent travel.

However, she has always been interested in more than just belts and prize money. It’s a way to celebrate her heritage and open doors for others.

There are “so many Sikh girls interested in boxing.” At events, people have gotten in touch with me and enquire about moving past my fear. And I’m like, “Do you know what, girl?” She says, “I’m going to show you how to do it and I’ll be there for you.”

I’d go there if a girl asked me for support, and she could live there or anywhere, to be honest. That is what I desire. I want to see more Sikh girls and boys involved.

She wants to start a gym in the Midlands one day so that fighters can train more than expectation.

And her unwavering counsel to the upcoming fighters, whether they are in the ropes or not, is unwavering.
