After it was discovered that he had to rearrange for one of his upcoming tour dates, comedian Jason Manford shared a troubling update from his hospital bed.

Jason Manford has revealed the reason behind his last-minute gig cancellations this week. On Wednesday, the Mancunian comedian, 44, sparked concern after a statement was shared online informing gig goers that his show in St Albans was being rescheduled.

Further worry came on Thursday morning after a new announcement revealed he was having to rearrange another three shows. But hours later he took to Twitter /X to share an update on his condition as he posted a picture of himself in a hospital bed.

Jason wrote: “Appendix surgery all went well, now in recovery with my Vimto, they serve it in all Manchester hospitals. Bit of a scary & extremely painful 24 hours but thankful to our NHS & my incredible nurse mum who’s a godsend in a health crisis!”

He added “advice” to his followers as a follow-up. He said, “My advice is to avoid getting appendicitis while driving at 70 mph on the highway!”

Seriously, I’m upset that I had to change the weekend dates, and I apologize for the late notice being sent to so many people in St Albans, Oxford, Lincoln, Skegness, and Kendall Calling.

“I was told not to worry because I believed I could get by on antibiotics and surgery so I could continue doing the shows.” Also, means that I can’t travel to Portugal on Monday to take my family on vacation! That’s life, I suppose. Thank you for all the “Get Well Soon” messages.

The Starstruck judge was once again greeted by supporters who had already followed them. One user remarked, “Oh no Jason. There will be additional holidays. Have a good sleep and be a good patient. Take caution x”

Gemma Atkinson has candidly revealed why she’s yet to tie the knot with her Spanish fiancé, Strictly professional dancer Gorka Marquez, despite sharing two children together, Mia and Thiago.

She addressed her dear late father David, who tragically passed away from a heart attack at the age of 52 when Gemma was just 17 in a heartfelt open letter for Father’s Day. Gemma, a supporter of palliative care and bereavement charity Sue Ryder, admitted that the prospect of walking down the aisle without him feels intolerable, with his absence being a major factor in postponing her wedding as she recalled her 24th Father’s Day without him.

She stated, “I’m getting married, Dad!” Anyhow, one day. You, in my opinion, are one of the reasons we haven’t completed it yet. Something keeps stopping me after we’ve come close numerous times. There will no longer be any of us if I give up my name because I am now the last Atkinson in the family line. That last connection to you is not something I want to lose.

Gemma poignantly stated that she believes her late father would have been incredibly fond of them and their two lovely children, whom she regrettably believes he will never get to meet when she spoke about her future husband.

She continued, “I wish you had met him. You’ve given him advice numerous times that he would have benefited from. You had to travel a lot for work, and Gorka also needs to.

He had to leave for a tour of Mia when she was three days old, he said. You would have helped him, despite the fact that it broke his heart. I can hear you saying, “I get it, buddy, I had to do it.” You’ll get past it, I assure you.

“It makes me sad that he never managed to shake your hand.” You’ve never met my high school boyfriend. That’s difficult for me.

The former Strictly star and radio host says she keeps her small family’s memory alive while preserving her father’s memory.

She revealed: “I talk to Thiago and Mia about you all the time. They call you GanGan David. We’ve got a picture of you in the house and Mia thinks GanGan David lives on the moon and you can’t get out. She always asks us how we can rescue you. When our dogs died it was devastating, but Mia took comfort in the fact you were looking after them somewhere. I really believe you are.”

Gorka assured fans that he and Gemma will tie the knot when Thiago’s independence increases in January when he updated their wedding plans.

He continued, “We will do it, but it’s just not at the moment.” We do a great job of doing this, especially now that we have kids. We don’t want to go to the wedding and carry him, or does he start yelling that he only wants mummy halfway through the wedding, you know? !.
