Klein tries:

England (19) 40

In a game in Washington that was delayed by almost two hours due to lightning strikes, England dominated.

Play in the one-off Test will begin at 18:05 local time (23:05 BST) on Saturday, with kick-off in the US capital delayed by an hour.

When more bad weather became known, England had a 14-0 lead in the 29th minute before Scottish referee Sam Grove-White was forced to play a further 40 minutes without the players.

On both occasions, fans in Washington’s 20, 000-capacity Audi Field were instructed to “exit the seating bowl” and “seek shelter in the concourse” via a video message posted to the stadium’s video screen.

England finished their tour of Argentina and the United States with a perfect three-win record despite the weather delays.

Luke Northmore crossed under the posts seven minutes after Steve Borthwick’s side had a strong start to the match, leading 2-0 through Curtis Langdon’s maul in the eleventh minute. Chris Hilsenbeck and the USA were the only ones who scored both tries and Chris Hilsenbeck was the sinner.

After TMO reviews, Alex Dombrandt and debutant Joe Carpenter scored tries, before Cadan Murley deservedly added England’s third score with a cross on the left wing just before half-time.

In the 62nd minute, Harry Randall scored a brilliant dummy while Jack van Poortvliet went over immediately following the restart.

Shilo Klein crashed over in the corner just in time to complete England’s sixth try, which was Gabriel Oghre’s only attempt to stop.

In addition to Sale full-back Carpenter, Bath center Max Ojomoh, Gloucester second-row Arthur Clark, and Gloucester fly-half Charlie Atkinson all made their English debuts.

After serving a two-game suspension, Immanuel Feyi-Waboso also made a second-match appearance for Borthwick, who made 12 changes to the England side that beat the Pumas in San Juan.

Stormy skies once more disrupt US sporting events

Due to bad weather, a number of sporting events in the US this summer have been postponed.

When the United States hosts the 2031 Men’s and 2033 Women’s Rugby World Cups, Washington is one of 27 cities that has expressed interest in hosting games, including Chicago, New York, Las Vegas, and Los Angeles.

In Orlando, Florida, lightning strikes nearly delayed Benfica’s game with Auckland City by almost two and a half hours last month during the Fifa Club World Cup.

Due to lightning, Benfica’s match against Chelsea in Charlotte, North Carolina, was delayed by one hour, 53 minutes.

Dressed in bubblegum pink, the star previews a sweet hook that has her singing, “Imma keep it nice, Imma keep it neat, Imma keep it sugar, Imma keep it sweet.”No release date or further details have emerged about “Sugar Sweet,” but assuming the single arrives soon, it’ll be the follow-up to “Type Dangerous,” which just got a remix EP release featuring collaborations with Big Sean, DJ Snake, Method Man and more. Both tracks would likely find a place on Carey’s as-yet-untitled 16th studio album.Fortunately for eager fans awaiting Carey’s first full-length studio project since 2018, the new album is ready to go when she’s ready to reveal it.“What is next? The album coming out. I don’t wanna tell too much about it because I just don’t want to reveal the whole thing. It’s finished,” she confirmed in an Apple Music interview last month. In that conversation, she also left a hint that “Sugar Sweet” was on the way, adding that “a second single is coming soon. I’m very excited about it. It’s very summery. I like the beat as well.”See Carey’s “Sugar Sweet” clip below.

Heavyweight permutations – what next after Usyk win?

Images courtesy of Getty
With Daniel Dubois’ five-round demolition performance on Saturday at Wembley, Oleksandr Usyk established himself as the world’s best heavyweight.

Is there anyone who can challenge Usyk, the second-time reigning undisputed heavyweight champion?

What fighting incidents are known to be occurring, then? What other events might be possible?

What fights are already taking place, in our opinion?

Moses Itauma and Dillian Whyte will square off in Saudi Arabia on August 16 for their next major heavyweight match.

Itauma will take a significant step up in the fight for the former world champion, and the 20-year-old is likely to gain a lot from his reputation as the next big thing.

Who will Usyk face next?

JavaScript must be enabled in your browser to play this video.

Following the fight, Usyk named a number of rivals in the ring. Even Derek Chisora was mentioned, along with Anthony Joshua, Joseph Parker, and Tyson Fury.

The 38-year-old has the option of facing any of them, or he might choose to take the unexpected step and invite Fabio Wardley or even rising star Itauma to face him.

What data are gathered from this quiz?

What will the defeated Dubois do next?

After a third defeat of his career, Dubois, 27, will be licking his wounds for a while.

Two of those went to Usyk, and Dubois might acknowledge that neither fight was particularly close. Dubois continues to be a stand-out entertainer in the heavyweight division despite the excitement they have had.

Dubois really has so many options for regaining his composure. Even Fury might view his fellow Briton as a potential matchup in the Joshua rematch, which takes place in Itauma, Wardley, Chisora, and Whyte.

One of the world’s top heavyweights continues to exist.

His promoter, Frank Warren, predicted that Daniel would take a short break and that he would need to “resurrect himself.”

He needs to make a statement against a top fighter, he says. That is what he did the first time. Only a young man, he is.

It’s all about perseverance, desire, striving to be best, and building on your mistakes, in essence. Numerous combatants have recovered from defeat.

He says, “He can punch, he can hurt you, but it’s about improving his game.”

What will AJ and Fury do next?

When the first bell rang, there were rumors that Joshua and Fury would be present at Usyk v. Dubois’ ringside, but neither sounded present.

Joshua is not expected to fight until November at the earliest because he had elbow surgery earlier this year. He has stated that Fury is at the top of his wishlist and has spoken openly about discussions with Riyadh Season about a new fight contract.

Fury may still be retired, but he appears to be making up plans for a return in 2026.

Instead of engaging in what appears to be an obvious fight with Joshua, Fury, 36, called out Usyk for his return.

You never know what Fury is thinking, said Eddie Hearn, Joshua’s promoter, to BBC Sport. When AJ vs. Fury is the only movie in the world, he starts calling out Usyk.

The third fight isn’t really commercially interesting to the money men or the fans because they are in a similar position and have both lost to Usyk twice.

What will Wilder and the division’s remaining members do next?

After missing action for just shy of a year last month, Deontay Wilder made a successful, if labored, return.

He stopped unheralded Tyrrell Herndon, which was his first victory since 2022, not a particularly vintage Wilder performance.

Given his star power and accomplishments, it is unlikely that the American could be put right back in the mix for big fights. Wilder described the encounter as a “new beginning” for him.

Dave Allen has already offered his hand up, so who knows if anyone would find Wilder attractive? Does the 39-year-old want to engage in such combat, though?

After their fight has been scheduled, Frazer Clarke and Jeamie Tshikeva will likely compete for the British heavyweight title.

Eubank-Benn rematch ‘dead’ – Hearn

Images courtesy of Getty

Promoter Eddie Hearn calls a rematch between British rivals Chris Eubank Jr. and Conor Benn “dead.”

In April’s Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, Eubank defeated Benn by unanimous points.

Although a second fight had been scheduled for September 20th, it was revealed earlier this week that the match was unlikely to occur.

Hearn, the promoter of Benn, claimed that his fighter was now considering withdrawing from the rematch and instead focused on a chance to win the world title.

He revealed that the fight between Eubank and Benn is still ongoing.

“September 20th was the date; I think there might be some discussion about a fight in November.”

Benn doesn’t like waiting around or being messed up. A chance at the world title would be something he would enjoy and probably prefer.

“We would definitely look at that option if that presented itself.”

He claimed to be prepared to leave after signing a two-fight deal with BBC Sport. Following the first fight in September, there were many discussions over the location and dates.

They all came out and said he wasn’t ready after they all agreed on September 20.

Hearn continued, “We have to give them a chance,” when asked if Benn was willing to wait until the end of the year.

Good luck to you if you’re not ready to go back to war with Benn and prefer to sit at a poker table in Las Vegas. But let’s get started.

“We’re prepared to move on, drop down to 147, and win the world title,” Benn said.

The first fight was planned by Turki Alalshikh’s company, Ring Magazine, and it was assumed that the rematch would also be a part of the Riyadh Season promotion.

Alalshikh, who appeared on Saturday’s broadcast prior to Oleksandr Usyk’s victory over Daniel Dubois at Wembley Stadium, said the Eubank-Benn fight might still exist and suggested January or February as potential alternate dates.

Eubank has not personally addressed the issue, and it’s not yet clear when a formal decision will be made.

Usyk knocks out Dubois in fifth to unify heavyweight boxing belts

With an emphatic fifth-round victory over Daniel Dubois in their undisputed world title fight at London’s Wembley Stadium, Oleksandr Usyk established himself as the outstanding heavyweight of his generation.

With the addition of his British opponent’s IBF belt on Saturday, Ukraine’s Usyk increased his unbeaten professional record to 24 fights, adding the WBA, WBC, and WBO champion to his collection.

Dubois was dropped early in the fifth round after Usyk had won the opening four rounds.

After one minute and 52 seconds, he was unable to beat the count with a trademark left hook, which prevented his British rival from winning the match.

After winning the ninth-round stoppage match in Krakow, Poland in 2023, where the Briton was ruled to have landed an illegal low blow in the fifth round, Usyk, 38, who is 11 years older than his opponent, defeated Dubois.

Before Saturday’s fight, Lennox Lewis, the last British boxer to win the undisputed world title, predicted that Usyk would face a significantly improved Dubois, saying: “You won’t see the same Daniel Dubois from 18 months ago.”

However, it was largely one-way traffic as their hero fought back in a brutal masterclass against local favorite Dubois after Usyk was roared into the ring by a sizable crowd of supporters, many of whom waving Ukraine’s national flag in a 90, 000 capacity crowd at Wembley, best known as the home ground of England’s national football team.

After bringing himself to his knees in a moment of celebration, Usyk declared, “Thirty-eight is a young man, remember,” in the ring. “Thirty-eight is]the] first.

“I want to thank Jesus Christ,” I want to say thank you so much to my Wembley team and team. For the people, of course.

Nothing comes next,” the message. Next, I don’t know, it’s enough. I need some rest. I want to be at peace right now, my wife, my kids. I want to take a two- or three-month break.

When asked about Tyson Fury, Usyk, who has already defeated him twice in the past, replied, “Maybe it’s Tyson Fury.”

Anthony Joshua and Derek Chisora might be the best choices. Joseph Parker, perhaps? I want to return home, so I’ll have to say that.

Dubois resisted entering the ring and resisted giving in, saying, “I have to commend him] Usyk for the performance. I gave everything.” I’ll be back, no matter who that man is.

Weeks-old baby dies of starvation in Gaza hospital during ongoing blockade

As Israel continues to impose its ban on aid supplies and fires at people who are compelled to seek food at contentious United States-backed aid sites, which Israel has referred to as “death traps,” a Palestinian baby has died in Gaza from starvation.

Director Muhammad Abu Salmiya told Al Jazeera that the 35-day-old infant had malnourished at Gaza City’s al-Shifa Hospital. One of two people who died in the facility on Saturday was the unnamed infant.

The deaths occurred as the Gaza-based Ministry of Health issued a warning that the hospital emergency rooms were overflown with starving patients. According to officials, 17, 000 children in Gaza are currently in severe malnutrition.

At least 116 people have been killed across the Strip since dawn, including 38 who were shot dead while visiting aid sites run by the US-backed Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF), according to medical sources who have reported the Israeli military has been pounding the area.

According to spokesman for the civil defense agency, Mahmud Bassal said the deaths occurred close to a site in southern Gaza southwest of Khan Yunis and another location northwest of Rafah, attributing the deaths to “Israeli gunfire.”

Since the foundation started distributing aid in late May, the Health Ministry claims that almost 900 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli forces and private military contractors close to dangerous GHF sites, opening four new locations for the organization’s nearly 400 centers, which are currently run by UN organizations and charities.

Witness Mohammed al-Khalidi claimed the Saturday shots fired at aid workers were intended to kill.

He claimed that when they suddenly saw the tanks coming from one side and the jeeps coming from the other, they began shooting at us.

The GHF sites are “death traps,” according to another witness, Mohammed al-Barbary, whose cousin died in the shootings.

“Anyone can commit murder,” My cousin had no guilt. He went to get some food. He desired to live. We want to lead the world, al-Barbary said.

According to Al Jazeera’s Hind Khoudary, who was reporting from Deir el-Balah in central Gaza, families who wanted to get something to eat are instead burying their loved ones.

The GHF denied that Saturday’s killings occurred at its site, claiming they happened “several kilometers” and “hours before our sites opened.”

The incident was being reviewed by the Israeli military.

“Démarcate the gates.”

Palestinians in Gaza are “acutely at risk of famine,” according to Jagan Chapagain, the organization’s secretary-general.

He argued that no person should have to risk their lives to receive basic humanitarian aid.

The population of 2.3 million cannot meet their daily nutritional needs because basic supplies are not available in markets or distribution centers, and the price of essentials like flour has skyrocketed.

Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) head Jan Egeland refuted claims made earlier this week by Kaja Kallas, the head of the European Union’s foreign policy, who had observed “some positive signs” regarding the distribution of aid in Gaza.

No relief has been pending for 142 days for the NRC and many others. not a single truck Not a single delivery,” Egeland wrote on X. He noted that looting or other problems brought on by the Gaza hunger crisis cause 85 percent of aid trucks to never arrive at their destination.

UNRWA, a UN agency for Palestinian refugees, claimed to have “enough food for the entire population of Gaza” waiting at the Egyptian border crossing with Israel and that it has been prohibited from operating in the Palestinian territory, including in occupied East Jerusalem.

The organization stated on X that UNRWA should “open the gates, lift the siege, and let its work be done.”

wave of attacks

As Israel continued its ruthless assault on Gaza on Saturday, bombing homes and tents for the displaced and residents of the area. At least 116 Palestinians were killed.

According to sources at Nasser Hospital, four bodies were discovered near southern Khan Younis at the site of Israeli strikes on Bani Suheila.

An Israeli drone attack on a tent in Khan Younis that was occupied by Palestinian refugees left at least one person dead.

Further north, according to the Interior Ministry, Israel struck an apartment building in the town of Az-Zawayda in central Gaza, killing Colonel Omar Saeed Aql, the Nuseirat police director, and 11 members of his family.

According to a source at al-Ahli Hospital, three people were killed in Gaza City when two Israeli planes attacked the Zeitoun neighborhood.

According to the Palestinian Red Crescent, an Israeli airstrike on the Tal al-Hawa neighborhood claimed the lives of five people in the city.

According to medical sources, Israeli shelling in the northern Gazan neighborhood of Jabalia an-Nazla claimed the lives of two people.

Off the Gaza coast, Israeli forces also opened fire on and detained three Palestinian fishermen, according to the Palestinian Prisoners’ Media Office.
