After missing out on the title when he returned to boxing, Manny Pacquiao said he wants to fight WBC welterweight champion Mario Barrios again.

At the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, 30-year-old Barrios held the 46-year-old Filipino to a majority draw after making his comeback four years after retiring.

One judge gave Barrios’ favor with a score of 115-113, while the other two had a score of 114-114.

Pacquiao, who won 12 world titles in his career and lost the final three spots on the judges’ scorecards, was ahead going into the 10th round.

Pacquiao said, “I believed I had won the fight.” It was a close fight, she said. My adversary was very tough. It was a fantastic fight.

At age 40, Pacquiao is the oldest fighter to have won the welterweight title in 2019.

He’s still as strong as hell, he claims.

Pacquiao’s endurance was a success in and of itself.

He put together vintage combinations in the beginning, displaying speed and agility that belied his years.

Pacquiao looked better than he did in his final fight after two months of training, when he lost to Yordenis Ugas in his final fight.

Pacquiao landed 101 of his 577 punches (17.5%) compared to Barrios ‘ 120 from 658 (18.2%). Power punches were landed by Pasquiao 81 to Barrios’ 75.

As the fight progressed, Barrios’ age advantage became apparent, with Pacquiao slowing down toward the fight’s conclusion.

His endurance is “worse,” according to Barrios.

He still has good timing and is strong as hell. He continues to struggle with awkwardness.

Due to the WBC’s guidelines for former champions coming out of retirement, Pacquiao, who lost re-election as a senator in the Philippines government in May, was given a title shot.

If a rematch with Barrios is not reached, he said he would look for a different fight.

Pacquiao stated, “My training will only last for two months.”

I must continue my training, not what I need. I should train for four months, three months, and a half in a championship match.

Typhoon Wipha causes flight disruptions in Hong Kong, southern China

Developing a Story

Authorities in Hong Kong have suspended classes and grounded hundreds of flights as a result of Typhoon Wipha’s strongest tropical cyclone warning, which is currently being issued in the city.

According to the most recent satellite reports from the US weather monitor NOAA and Japan’s Himawari, Wipha was located about 60 kilometers (37 miles) southwest of Hong Kong on Sunday. It was moving westward toward southern China’s coastal regions.

The T10 hurricane alert was issued by the Hong Kong observatory, which stated that “winds with mean speeds of 123 kph (73 mph) are anticipated” and that they pose “considerable threat to Hong Kong.”

The observatory issued a warning to the public, “beware of destructive winds,” warning that “the southern portion of the territory is being affected by hurricane force winds under the influence of its eyewall.”

The Reuters news agency reported that large waves were spotted off Hong Kong Island’s eastern coast.

About 500 flights have been cancelled, according to a representative from the Hong Kong Airport Authority, and 400 others are scheduled to land or take off later that day.

According to the state news agency Xinhua, the provinces of Hainan and Guangdong in China were also on high alert. All daytime flights to Shenzhen, Zhuhai, and Macao were delayed or cancelled on Sunday.

More than 200 people have contacted Hong Kong’s government-run temporary shelters for shelter. On Sunday morning, more than a dozen reports of fallen trees were received by authorities in a public hospital emergency room.

Additionally, trains offered a limited selection of services on Sunday, with the authorities suspending Sunday’s classes at all daycare centers and day schools.

Super Typhoon Saola received the T10 warning signal in Hong Kong’s final year in 2023.

Wipha, which means “splendour,” also swept over the Philippines during a tropical storm and soaked parts of Taiwan.

According to the Philippines’ National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council, two people have been reported missing and the typhoon also increased the country’s seasonal monsoon rains.

More than 370, 000 people in the Philippines were affected by days of squall, with 43, 000 of them fleeing government-run emergency shelters or family homes as a result of flooding, landslides, and fierce winds.

Loose Women’s Denise Welch addresses soap return amid ITV bloodbath

Following ITV’s announcement to reduce the program’s runtime to 30 weeks per year, panelist Denise Welch of Long-Time Loose Women says she plans to make a significant career change the following year.

Denise Welch was already a respected stage actress before making her TV debut in Auf Wiedersehen, Pet in the mid eighties. Forty years on, she’s known as one of the most outspoken – and also popular – panellists on ITV’s Loose Women, but in this exclusive chat, Denise says she’s keen to return to her professional roots.

Earlier this year, ITV announced it was merging production teams on three of its daytime shows, and cutting Loose Women and Lorraine back to 30 weeks a year.

The channel has yet to make any public announcements about the results, but the backstage crew’s employment is anticipated to decline, but the panelists’ future is still undetermined.

Although ITV bosses insisted there wouldn’t be any “radical changes” to the panel line-up, which includes telly favourites like Denise, Coleen Nolan and Ruth Langsford, it’s understandably prompted a few thoughts about what’s next.

It’s an opportunity for Denise, who first appeared on the daytime show in 2005, to rehabilitate her best skill, acting.

I’m on television because I’m opinionated and gobby, and I think people can forget what I do and know, so I’m going to make a concerted effort to return to what she does and knows. magazine .

That said, the 67-year-old former Coronation Street star, who recently celebrated 12 years of marriage to artist Lincoln Townley, insists there should always be a place on TV for Loose Women, regardless of the changes.

She claims that this is the only show in the nation that honors and listens to the opinions of older women.

Denise has a number of well-known roles on some of the country’s best-loved soaps, including playing the landlady Natalie Barnes in Coronation Street in more than 480 episodes between 1997 and 2000, in addition to her regular Loose Women appearances.

She’s also known for her part as teacher Steph Haydock in the BBC’s Waterloo Road, and more recently, Trish Minniver in Hollyoaks. Denise puts part of her success down not only to giving up alcohol 13 years ago – but the fact her heart lies in acting, especially in the theatre.

“Some of the things I’ve accomplished as an actress are very impressive. Although it may sound big-headed, I’m actually a f****** good at it. And I’m going to pay attention to that as well!

Frankie Bridge swears by this Korean ‘sensitive skin lifesaver’ balm that gives ‘glass skin’

Frankie Bridge has just shared her skincare “lifesaver” from a popular Korean skincare brand if you want glowing, “glass skin.”

The term “glass skin” is a popular one and is used frequently, with numerous brands incorporating it. It describes skin that is so radiant, hydrated, and almost appears translucent, glowy, and glass-like.

Instead of putting on a lot of different products hoping for the best, it instead works by strengthening your skin’s moisture barrier to achieve that glow-from-anywhere effect.

AESTURA Atobarrier365 Cream with Ceramide, which retails for £25.99, comes in at that price. This K-Beauty balm is the key to getting “glass skin,” which is praised by so many people, including Frankie Bridge, who describes it as a “sensitive skin lifesaver.”

This barrier cream might be just what your skin needs if it has been feeling dry, sensitive, and in need of some TLC. The moisturising formula promises 120 hours of hydration for the skin, which is supported by millions of people in Korea and has one selling every 20 seconds.

Emily Atack wears a $ 38 ASOS dress that is perfect for the heat.

It contains a lot of ceramides, but the secret is in the fact that it is infused with many skin-loving ingredients. Ceramides: What exactly are they? They are an essential component of the skin’s lipid barrier, which prevents external pollutants, keeps moisture out, and prevents irritation. This AESTURA cream is perfect for sensitive skin because of this.

The cream is also free from any fragrance, has been allergy-tested and is gentle enough for the whole family to use.Reviewers have also backed Frankie’s praise up with one happy shopper writing: “The hydration is next-level – rich without being greasy, and it absorbs beautifully. What really impressed me, though, is how calming and soothing it is. My skin feels balanced, soft, and genuinely healthier after using it.”

While a second claimed it’s: “The HOLY GRAIL for dry and sensitive skin“.

However, if you’ve got oilier skin this might be too much moisture, one shopper said: “After using it on my face, I felt like it was super moisturising, but for my skin type (combo leaning towards oily and sensitive), it felt like a bit too much. I would continue on with my day and still feel like there was a layer of moisturiser on my skin.”

This £11 repairing hair mask is hailed as ‘better than K18’ and makes hair grow ‘after 5 uses’

Fans of the K18 hair mask, which they claim is “better,” and makes an even greater difference in how smooth and soft their hair is after wearing it, have been praising the £11 alternative.

If ever there was a cult-favourite haircare product, it’s the K18 Biomimetic Hairscience Leave-in Molecular Repair Hair Mask . A firm favourite amongst celebrities like Hailey Bieber and Sofia Richie, the molecular repairing mask has become a staple in salons and bathrooms around the world.

However, it is undoubtedly an A-list investment at £70 for a 50ml bottle, which is why we were so surprised to see this alternative being praised as “better than K18”. The Hairification H24 Complex Leave-in Repair Mask is also much more affordable, starting at just £10.99 for a 50ml bottle, in addition to being praised for better performance.

A leave-in repairing mask like this is essential for anyone with dry, damaged, or stressed strands. It contains four key ingredients, each of which increase the strength of your hair by up to 312%, repair damage, and leave your hair silky, soft, and smooth.

The Hairification H24 Complex Leave-In Repair Mask contains both a procutigen bond and fiberhance, which prevents further damage, moisture loss, and breakage. Col-frag and elaya renova are included in the product to give it a smooth, hydrated finish, and protect hair from styling and sun damage caused by styling and exposure to heat and UV.

Use of the leave-in mask is also very simple. Apply one to three pumps to your palms and rub your hands together until your freshly washed, towel-dried hair emulsifies into a thick, white paste.

Then make sure it’s evenly covering every strand of your hair by spreading this mixture throughout it. Wait four more minutes before using your regular products and style again. For the first four to six washes, you should use the H24 Complex every time, and after that, you can use it whenever you need to.

Although the Hairification H24 Complex is one of the most affordable choices we’ve found, there are numerous other companies that offer comparable advantages. The Redken Acidic Bonding Concentrate Leave-In Treatment (formerly $25.70, now $23.13) helps repair damaged bonds that cause frizz and breakage, seal the cuticles of your hair, and tame flyaways.

The JVN Hair Complete Instant Recovery Serum, which is silicone and sulphate-free, helps repair and strengthen damaged hair while guarding it from heat and environmental damage. A 25ml jar costs £12 while a 100ml jar costs £28.

However, the Hairification H24 Complex is affordable, with customers’ praise supporting its claims. One claimed that this was more affordable than K18. I adore it a lot! “!

Another user said, “Amazing after 5 uses, my hair is growing and this is making my hair smooth.”

However, some customers couldn’t be swayed by the more expensive options, with one reviewer saying, “I bought this leave in as an alternative to a higher priced product leave in mask.” My hair tends to grow out of my hair because the consistency is a little too thick. My hair is slightly smooth and shiny, but not nearly as much as the other higher brand products because the scent is pleasant and not overpowering. I’m unsure whether it has had any other advantages for my hair. I “wouldn’t buy again.”

However, others praised it, saying: “Great product, I can see the difference after a few uses. My husband commented on how healthy my hair looked. I highly suggest “!

‘We felt like Premier League footballers’ – Jones relives 2005 Ashes

Images courtesy of Getty

“We had a Premier League vibe,” we said. 10,000 people had been turned away because there was a sizable crowd. The number of people who wanted to watch was incredible.

It was like, “Wow, this is something to behold.” I don’t believe it will ever occur again.

Former England bowler Simon Jones can still recall every moment in his mind despite the fact that it has been 20 years since the most famous Ashes Test series.

Given the larger picture, Jones’ 20-20 vision is not surprising given that it was England’s first Ashes series victory since 1987. The Ashes narrative was flipped after an 18-year, eight-series losing streak was ended thanks to this.

Since that summer, England teams have a memory of that legendary series somewhere. They believe that winning is once more an option.

Jones’ story echoes that expansive narrative.

The 2005 series marked the end of a career that was cruelly shortened by injury, as recounted in a BBC Sport documentary on iPlayer.

Despite only playing three and a half Tests due to an ankle injury, Jones took 18 wickets, including a career-best 6-53 at Trent Bridge.

The former Glamorgan fast bowler recalls the summer as a once-in-a-lifetime blur of front-and-back-page news and Downing Street garden parties despite that setback.

A febrile Lord’s, which was a more stag party than a traditional tea party, was where it all began.

Cricket’s home is renowned for its serenity. Champagne corks should be popping rather than falling off.

Before a ball was bowled, 2005 felt different, Jones recalls.

He says, “When we went through that Long Room, and we went down the stairs and through the pavilion, it erupted.”

What is happening here, Kev [Kevin Pietersen] said to me as he turned around and said, “What’s going on? “

“It almost shocked us, really. The members are typically all together, but they are occasionally quiet. a little sluggish. a little posh

How to win the 2005 Ashes

On iPlayer, watch
Both literally and metaphorically, England rocked the Aussies very early. A Glenn McGrath-inspired Australia won the Test comfortably by 239 runs after Ricky Ponting was hit in the grille in the first innings, which saw them dismissed for 190.

Nobody went to check on him when Steve Harmison hit Ponting, which is never the case, Jones claims.

The Australians claimed that this was a different team, similar to a pack of wolves arriving in a battle.

“And it was,” We desired to destroy them.

The second Test at Edgbaston is considered to be one of the best individual matches of any series, if it was one of the most iconic series of all time in 2005.

Andrew Flintoff won seven wickets, including an iconic second-innings over that saw him dismiss Justin Langer and Ponting, at his absolute best with bat (make 68, 73, and ball).

After Harmison dismissed Michael Kasprowicz, his ashes heroism, which included commiserating with Australia’s Brett Lee when England had won by two runs and when he had already squandered a two-run lead, is etched into Ashes history.

In the third and fourth Tests, Jones was scheduled to spend some time in the sun. By the third Test at Old Trafford, England was in full Ashes fever, which refers to the final day of Manchester.

If Jones’ career at its pinnacle was in 2005, then his second-innings dismissal of Michael Clarke was the most notable.

Clarke had a good chance of winning the 39-pound lead before Jones, who had repeatedly outswinged the Australian, delivered the perfect inswinger.

The iconic sound of off stump being upended and Clarke’s painful “oh no” realization that there was no way he could reverse-engineer Jones’ flawless reverse-swing ruse have both been credited in folklore.

A turning point was made by Clarke’s dismissal and Australia’s forced backs-to-the-wall against a draw, which was not the result of England’s defeat in that Old Trafford Test. According to Jones, “It sounds like music” in Clarke’s delivery.

JavaScript must be enabled in your browser to play this video.

There are many similarities between England and Jones in the 2005 stories.

However, there is a major, painful error where they diverge.

In the 20 years since, Jones has written a number of well-known Ashes victory stories using that series as a springboard.

The fast bowler from Glamorgan never played for his country again after suffering a broken foot in the fourth Test at Trent Bridge.

It’s true that Jones might feel bitter, but it is exactly the opposite.

When asked if he would have abandoned the dreaded 2005 Ashes summer in favor of a more extensive Test career, Jones responded with the phrase “it’s better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all.”

Jones, who played 18 Tests for England, said, “I didn’t realize that would be my last Test for England.”

“It felt like I was going from the penthouse to the outhouse.”

I spent the summer wearing an England shirt, but I never played again, despite my best efforts. It would be preferable to have witnessed it. Which would you prefer: playing the 18 Tests you played and having 2005 or playing 100 and not the one you did?

“The 18 Tests, with every day of the week ending in 2005, would be included.”
