Nicola Peltz shares gushing tribute to her dad and leaves father-in-law David Beckham out

Brooklyn Beckham’s wife Nicola Peltz has shared a tribute to her own dad Nelson Peltz to mark Father’s Day as she failed to share anything for father-in-law David Beckham

Nicola Peltz has shared a touching Father’s Day tribute to her dad Nelson Peltz, yet stayed silent on her father-in-law David Beckham. It comes as just another blow to the Beckhams amid their ongoing fallout with Nicola and their eldest son Brooklyn Beckham.

She married David and Victoria’s firstborn back in 2022 and once appeared to get on with the famous family. However, cracks started to appear following their wedding and things really came to a head when Nicola and Brooklyn, 26, snubbed David’s 50th birthday celebrations.

The pair failed to publicly acknowledge the football icon’s milestone birthday at the time, with them also avoiding attending any celebrations despite flying into London from Los Angeles. Since then, Brooklyn has continued to prove his loyalties to his wife as he failed to post anything when David was awarded a knighthood earlier in the week.

Now, on Father’s Day Nicola has chose to share the love to her own dad but not her in-law. She shared a series of photos throughout the years with her dad Nelson alongside a touching caption.

Nicola wrote: “Happy Father’s Day to the greatest dad in the world I am so lucky to be your daughter I love you more than you will ever know. Thank you for always being my constant support I love you beyond words. Happy Father’s Day dad.”

Brooklyn’s younger brothers Romeo and Cruz led the way in paying tribute to David for the special day. Cruz shared a snap of him chilling in the sun with his sports star dad and captioned the post saying: ” Happy Father’s Day, I love you x.”

Meanwhile, Romeo posted two pictures of him and his father. One was of him as a child with David and he captioned it simply saying: “love you.”

Wife Victoria was not too far behind when it came to praising David as she wrote: ” Happy Father’s Day Sir @DavidBeckham!!! We love you so much.” In a video clip of David and their children, she penned: “Happy Father’s Day to the best daddy there is! You always lead with love and our four beautiful children are a reflection of that. We all love you so much.”

David shared his own public message to his children as he appeared to hint at the feud. He shared: “My most important & favourite job in life is being a dad… I’m so proud of all of you and like daddy ( sorry boys ) tells you every single day I will always be here for you no matter what…

“Mummy thank you for doing the most important part and making me a father there is no greater gift in life than making me a dad… Happy Father’s Day… I love you kiddies more than you could imagine.”

As Victoria and David appear to be extending olive branches through their social media, Brooklyn recently shared a picture of a tattoo that could be perceived as a tell-tale sign about where his loyalties lie. The image shows the tattoo on Brooklyn’s upper back that is based on a note Nicola, 30, wrote to him before their wedding in April 2022.

Tattooed in a stylish calligraphy font, it reads: “My forever boy. Read this anytime you feel anxious. I want you to know how deeply loved you are. You have the kindest heart I’ve ever met and hope I never go a day without your love. I think you are so incredible. Just know we can get through it all together if you breathe slow and trust. I love you beyond. Love always, your future wifey.”

In another show of support to Nicola amid the ongoing drama, Brooklyn shared photos of them on a motorbike. The caption read: “My whole world x I will love you forever x I always choose you baby x you’re the most amazing person i know xx me and you forever baby.”

Leigh clinch dramatic win at Wakefield

Betfred Super League

Wakefield (12) 20

Tries: Jowitt, Pratt, Hall Goals: Jowitt (4)

Leigh (18) 24

Leigh Leopards edged out Wakefield Trinity in a thriller on an emotional day at the DIY Kitchens Stadium.

The game was dedicated to Trinity coach Daryl Powell’s toddler grandson Clarke, who has been receiving treatment for leukaemia and led the teams out when he was carried on to the pitch by his mother.

Both sides could have won it, but Joe Ofahengaue’s late try was the crucial swing moment after other scores from David Armstrong and Darnell McIntosh.

Wakefield only led for a short period in the second half despite tries from Max Jowitt, Oliver Pratt and Corey Hall.

Leigh scored inside three minutes without Wakefield touching the ball. Their pressure was relentless as they gradually pushed forward until Armstrong forced his way over the line. Ben McNamara was unable to convert.

But Wakefield hit back within five minutes through Jowitt’s ninth try of the season in all competitions.

With two players spare to his right, his dummy pass unlocked the door from close range following a quick scrum. He picked himself to secure the extras with his kick.

McNamara restored parity with a penalty, before his quick pass to Armstrong unlocked the Trinity defence after McIntosh’s initial counter-attack. Once again, McNamara succeeded with his kick to increase Leigh’s lead to six points.

Jowitt’s last-ditch tackle on the line denied McIntosh a certain try in the corner as the visitors looked to ramp home their advantage before half-time. After McNamara added another penalty, McIntosh finally crossed after a wonderful pass from Lachlan Lam for another try, but the kick was missed.

Three minutes from the break, Pratt touched down after superb Wakefield switch play from right to left. Jowitt kicked over to put the hosts back within six.

The second half was cagey, but Jowitt closed the gap further for Wakefield with a penalty before Hall’s try.

Hall capitalised on a defensive misjudgement from Tesi Niu to touch down after meeting Jake Trueman’s searching kick. Jowitt put Wakefield in front for the first time with his conversion.

Wakefield Trinity assistant head coach Michael Shenton:

“The boys are massively deflated in there. The last two games that we’ve played, it’s come down to our starts.

“We’ve given ourselves too much to do conceding three tries in the first half, which is very disappointing.

“There’s probably some attitude things there and we need to handle some of the stuff when it goes against us a little bit better.”

On Daryl Powell’s grandson’s illness: “The awareness it’s created is awesome. It’s a massive thing for Daryl and his family to go through. The club doing something like this is quite unique.”

Leigh Leopards head coach Adrian Lam:

“I thought we were courageous and resilient. Even though we were our own worst enemy, we found a way to win off the back of that.

“We’re a six out of 10 at the minute and some fans might think that’s harsh, but that’s the reality. There’s so much more improvement left. We brought Wakefield into the game with some of our actions.

Wakefield: Jowitt, Russell, Hall, Pratt, Johnstone, Trueman, Lino, McMeeken, Hood, Vagana, Croft, Griffin, Pitts

Interchanges: Cozza, Rourke, Smith, Faatili, Nikotemo

Leigh: Armstrong, McIntosh, Niu, Hanley, Brand, McNamara, Lam, Ofahengaue, Ipape, Mulhern, Halton, Trout, Liu

Jade Thirlwall took a moment to talk about Little Mix at Capital’s Summertime Ball, saying ‘I miss my girls’ as she made her first solo debut at the annual concert

Jade gives sweet nod to Little Mix at Capital’s Summertime Ball at Wembley

Jade Thirlwall kicked off the 2025 Capital Summertime Ball at Wembley Stadium, making it her debut at the concert as a solo artist. However, it wasn’t Jade’s first time performing there, as she reminded fans during her set, and gave a sweet nod to her former band Little Mix, saying ‘I miss my girls’.

As the pop icon stood on the stage, she asked the audience, “I have done the Summertime Ball a few times before – do you know who with?”, before sending fans into a frenzy with a medley of Shout Out To My Ex and Sweet Melody by Little Mix.

Jade then took a moment to mention her former bandmates and sweetly mentioned how much she ‘misses’ them and is ‘proud’ of all they achieved together. Jade said: “I really do miss my Little Mix girls a lot and I am so proud of everything we achieved together, but I can’t lie Wembley, it does feel nice to do my own songs written about my own personal experiences. With that said, this song was my first single”.

The singer, who looked stunning in a red and white miniskirt with a matching jacket, then performed Angel of My Dreams, but not before thanking her fans first.

Jade said: “Before I leave, I want to say thank you from the bottom of my heart for backing me, supporting me as an artist, thank you Capital for having me here today, this is Angel of My Dreams”.

The appearance marked a significant milestone in her solo career, following a series of successful singles like “Angel of My Dreams,” “Fantasy,” and “It Girl”. Her performance was highly anticipated, especially after her standout live shows at the Brit Awards and Radio 1’s Big Weekend.

Since departing Little Mix in 2022, Jade has swiftly established herself as a solo artist and released her debut single, Angel of My Dreams, in July 2024, which debuted at number 7 on the UK Singles Chart.

Jade’s debut album, That’s Showbiz Baby, is set for release on September 12, 2025, under RCA Records. Last month, the singer took to Instagram to share the news with fans, posting: “THAT’S SHOWBIZ BABY! My debut album out 12th September.” The announcement was accompanied by a striking image of what appears to be her album artwork, which features Jade in four different outfits and poses.

The singer, who will also kick off her first UK and Ireland tour in October, told fans: “This album has been years in the making, so I’m beyond excited that I can finally let everyone know when it’s coming out. I’m very proud of ‘THAT’S SHOWBIZ BABY!’ as a body of work and can’t wait to share it with the world. To be able to perform the album live later this year is also a dream come true. See you all on tour!”

This career move comes after Jade has already spent a decade in the spotlight after rising to fame as part of Little Mix in 2011.

The band went on to become one of the UK’s most successful girl groups, clinching number one singles, Brit Awards, and touring internationally. After the band went on hiatus in May 2022, Jade kicked off her career as a solo artist.

Capital’s Summertime Ball red carpet as Jessie J and unexpected A-lister lead glam

Pop star Jessie J has returned to the red carpet following her breast cancer diagnosis as she’s set to take a break after performing at Capital FM’s Summertime Ball

The 2025 Capital FM’s Summertime Ball has kicked off in style as Jessie J returned to the red carpet following her breast cancer diagnosis. She is performing at the annual music event at London’s Wembley Stadium before “disappearing” to have surgery.

Jessie looked sensational as she rocked a mesh bodysuit and black mini dress while striking a pose on the red carpet. The likes of Mariah Carey, Benson Boone, KSI, Lola Young, Busted vs McFly, Zara Larsson, Dasha, Reneé Rapp and Jessie are all performing.

Hollywood star Will Smith has made an unexpected appearance at the event alongside DJ Jazzy Jeff, Tate McRae, Myles Smith and JADE, who are also performing at the huge event, which is expected to draw in a crowd of 80,000.

As the stars prepared for the bash and walked the red carpet, fans became concerned over whether it would go ahead. They were shown a statement from organisers on the large screens while inside the stadium.

It read: “We have had to pause the show temporarily. Please remain in the stadium. We hope to restart shortly. Thank you.” It hasn’t been confirmed but fans have said there was a power outage at the stadium.

Gavin and Stacey’s Laura Aikman was told to give up acting career due to mystery illness

Gavin and Stacey star Laura Aikman revealed she was advised to change her job after she was diagnosed with an illness that made her ‘very unwell’

Gavin and Stacey star told to give up acting career because of mystery illness

Gavin and Stacey star Laura Aikman revealed she was told to give up her acting career after she was struck down a mystery illness. The 39-year-old actress, known for playing Smithy’s partner Sonia in the popular sitcom, struggled with painful symptoms for many years before she learned she had ulcerative colitis.

Ulcerative colitis is a chronic autoimmune condition which causes inflammation and ulcers in the colon. Symptoms include recurring diarrhoea, stomach pain, needing to poo frequently as well as extreme fatigue and loss of appetite. In a recent interview, Laura revealed it took her a ‘long time’ before she was diagnosed and spent a long time ‘very, very unwell’.

She explained The Sun: “I’d been to the doctors a lot and they kept telling me that it was probably piles, without examining me, and giving me cream because I had blood in my stool. Nothing worked.

“And then I went to a homeopath and she asked me all of these questions about when I’d been poorly and she was like, ‘Listen, I’ve written out a timeline here of when you’ve not been working, and that is when you’ve been at your most unwell’.”

The actor was asked whether she would consider finding another career but insisted acting was her ‘entire personality’. The stress from not working between acting roles ended up worsening her illness.

Laura is now in a BBC gangster drama called This City is Ours. She also stars in Disney+’s Suspect: The Shooting of Jean Charles de Menezes as Lana Vandenberghe.

Last year, she reprised her role as Sonia in the Gavin and Stacey Christmas special. She was also in ITV’s Archie, Joan and The Rising.

The star previously discussed her role on This City Is Ours. The actress, whose surprise appearance as Smithy’s bride in the Christmas Day special shocked the nation, stars as Rachel Duffy in BBC One’s drugs drama This City Is Ours.

Filming on the big-budget series took place last year, at the same time as Laura was filming Gavin and Stacey. “It was the year of the bitch,” laughs Laura. “But they’re great to play.”

While pretentious Sonia was what Laura cheerfully called a “rotter”, Rachel is a much darker character, with ambitions to become a major player in Liverpool’s dark drugs scene.

It was a refreshing role for Laura, having spent much of her career playing romantic love interests. “One of the first things I fell in love with about Rachel was that she never tries to make other people feel comfortable,” explained Laura earlier this year. “We all have that tendency to laugh at a bad joke or fill silence but Rachel doesn’t give a s**t.

“She’s happy for everyone to get uncomfortable. She can be quite rude, she tells people what she thinks, she doesn’t like new people but she’s really smart, she’s determined and she’s ambitious.”

Harry seals first European Tour title at Hulencourt Open

2025 Hulencourt Women’s Open final round

-13 D Harry (Wal); -10 N Nadaud (Fra); -9 A Garvey (NZ)

Selected others: -7 L Walsh (Ire); -6 C Gainer (Eng); -4 S Byrne (Ire); -1 L Hall (Wal); +1 M MacLaren (Eng), B Smith (Eng)

Welsh rookie Darcey Harry won her first Ladies European Tour event with a three-shot victory at the Hulencourt Women’s Open in Belgium.

The 22-year-old shot a final round of 68 to take the title ahead of France’s Nastasia Nadaud and New Zealand’s Amelia Garvey.

Harry hit a remarkable five birdies and an eagle on the par-five 13th hole to storm her way to victory.

Having only turned pro last year, she earned her place on the tour after coming through qualifying in December.

“I don’t even know what to say right now,” she said after securing victory.

“I’m so excited. I didn’t think I’d ever picture myself winning on the tour, so it’s so nice to know I’ve finally done it.

“I think the last putt was probably the most nervous I’ve ever been in my life.”

This victory gets her into the AIG Women’s Open, where she will be playing on her home course Royal Porthcawl – something she admitted was on her mind.

“I was thinking that walking down the 18th and I was pretty nervous about not getting into that, so I think that’s another huge win for me this week.”

India’s Avani Prashanth had started the final day in the lead but fell away with a round of 75.
