Andy Carroll, a former England and Liverpool striker, has spent one season in Bordeaux’s fourth division.
Bordeaux claimed that Carroll made the decision to “move closer to his children” when he left.
The 36-year-old signed for Bordeaux from Amiens in September and has now scored 11 goals in 21 league games.
Andy “broughs his experience, physical impact, and professionalism to the table every day, in the dressing room, and in significant games,” the club said in a statement.
He has a remarkable and generous personality that the club’s supporters and employees have enjoyed working with off the pitch.
Bordeaux, a six-time Ligue 1 champion, reverted to professional status after being deducted from Ligue 2 to Championnat National 2 due to bankruptcy last year.
In his time playing for West Ham United, Liverpool, and Newcastle United, Carroll scored 54 goals in 248 Premier League games.

The 1888 Cup
British and Irish Lions (10) 24
Aki, penalty try, Beirne Cons: F Smith 2 Pens: F Smith
Argentina (21) 28
In a thrilling Dublin matchup, the British and Irish Lions lost to a slick and pacey Argentina in a deflating finale.
Argentina scored breakaway tries for the Lions in their first game away from Ireland and in their debut under new head coach Andy Farrell. Santiago Cordero, Tomas Albornoz, and Ignacio Mendy scored the winning try.
The South Americans held the South Americans to an 11-point half-time lead thanks to Mendy and Albornoz’s efforts, either side of Bundee Aki’s try for the Lions.
And while the Lions recovered early in the second half with a penalty try and Tadhg Beirne, Cordero quickly ran the counter and scored the winning try 22 minutes in.
The Lions pressed for a winning try in the closing stages, but Argentina held on in a nail-biting climax to claim their first victory over the Lions.

Albornoz and Pumas are spectacular.
A 28-10 victory for Warren Gatland’s side in their warm-up match against Japan at Murrayfield in 2021 was overshadowed by a shoulder injury that disjointed Alun Wyn Jones’ preparation for the Tests series.
Even though Farrell was spared such grave concerns, he will have plenty to consider on the long flight to Perth on Saturday after a difficult night against the Pumas.
Farrell experimented with combinations, including an all-Northampton half-back pairing of Alex Mitchell and Fin Smith, as well as a power-packed center partnership of Aki and Sione Tuipulotu, and even without the assistance of the majority of the players competing in domestic championships last weekend.
Smith made his Lions debut, for whom the future is undeniably promising, but Albornoz delighted the sporadic blue and white dotted around the stadium by scoring 18 points.
Albornoz scored a penalty in the fourth minute, and Carreras was sent off before the full-back fed Mendy to the end.

Lions struggle to achieve tense climax
Argentina’s first-half efforts were cheery, but after a dismal opening 40 minutes, the Lions’ brows were rubbed furiously.
Luke Cowan-Dickie crossed after a rolling maul, thinking he had immediately conjured a winning try, only to be denied by the television match official as a knock-on.
Farrell’s side stayed in touch with Aki thanks to the characteristically bulldozed try by Aki that he made just before a Tuipulotu score was rejected.
The Lions struggled to find cohesion when the teams came together for the first time, but they did manage to turn things around in the first few minutes of the second half.
A storming Ellis Genge charge set up Beirne’s try to put the Lions up 24-21 before the pack mauled their way to a penalty try before Argentine prop Mayco Vivas was yellow-carded as a result.
However, Argentina held on as a quick-witted replacement back Cordero wrapped up a fiery transition that started with Duhan van der Merwe losing to Isgro in a high-ball battle.

TV presenter Claudia Winkleman has revealed she has undergone eye surgery – and she can’t don her trademark heavy eyeliner for weeks as she recovers. The Strictly Come Dancing co-host was flooded with support as she shared a candid update with her fans on Friday night.
Claudia, 53, looked unrecognizable when posing next to a medical professional in the photo while wearing a hospital gown. Her usual heavy fake tan and smokey eye make-up were not present.
Captioning the image, The Traitors host told her Instagram followers: “This amazing human makes me see. He’s operated on my eyes before and he did it again today. No eyeliner for weeks and I sleep in goggles (no words) but I’m eternally grateful.
My left eye is wonky, so do not zoom in on it. Julian, I appreciate you. This is not an advertisement; I paid for the treatment. I simply adore him. I’m probably still a little too sedated. Night and night.
Izzi Warner, a Gogglebox star, wrote in one of the first comments on Claudia’s post, “We still have the costume, and Bobby is willing to wear the eye liner for you in Claudia!” “Happy healing.”

Drag Race UK star Baga Chipz told the TV star, “You look beautiful Claudia,” with a fan stating, “He did my eye surgery about 8 years ago!” listened to rock music while doing it. He was correct when he said it would change my life. Amazing man!
Claudia’s health update comes just days on from the popular star being made a Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) in the King’s Birthday Honours.
The mother-of-three presenter received a broadcasting award last week along with Tess Daly, her Strictly Come Dancing co-host, for her services. I’m incredibly appreciative of receiving this honor, Claudia said. Working with people who are incredibly talented is a real privilege, and I only have this because of them.
“So this is for the BBC, the traitors and the faithful, for pianos and for the cha cha. I will buy a hat and am taking my mum. I am ridiculously lucky and will celebrate with Tess by doing a paso doble.”
Born and raised in London, she studied history of art at Cambridge University and after graduating began her career as a TV and radio presenter, fronting a range of BBC TV shows including Comic Relief and The Great British Sewing Bee.
She also hosted programs on BBC Radio 2 up until 2024, including Claudia Winkleman Arts Show, Claudia On Sunday, and the comedy quiz series Hot Gossip.
She began hosting the weekday companion program It Takes Two on BBC One in 2004 before moving on to broadcaster Zoe Ball, where she appeared alongside Tess Daly on Sunday night.
Since Sir Bruce Forsyth resigned, the presenter has since joined Tess for the main show every Saturday since 2014. The Traitors, a popular BBC game show, was based on the Bafta-winning presenter, and he won the 2023 award for best entertainment performance.
In the charity spin-off series The Celebrity Traitors, Alan Carr, Sir Stephen Fry, actor and broadcaster, and retired diver Tom Daley, 19 famous people will enter the castle in the Highlands.

As the pair kicked off their media tour in Saudi Arabia, Saul “Canelo” Alvarez claimed that while he is a “great fighter but he’s not Canelo,” he is not.
The pound-for-pound legends will compete for Alvarez’s undisputed super-middleweight title on September 13 in Las Vegas.
Although Alvarez claimed it might be a close fight with American Crawford who would step up from light-middleweight, the fight is being billed as the “fight of the century.”
He is a fantastic fighter, but he is not Canelo. At a press conference, Alvarez stated, “I have the experience.
“I have more than that, but they only concentrate on my power.” One of my best fights to date will be this one.
Alvarez, 34, may be three years younger than Crawford, but having made his professional debut at the age of 15, the Mexican has been chosen to carry the torch over 67 fights and 11 world titles overall.
One time, Alvarez said, “He’s not going to beat me, don’t worry about it,” and Crawford responded, “For sure they belts are coming home with me.”
The rivals are split by 26 fights, but Crawford also has a record that most fighters can only dream about, including 19 world titles and an undisputed two-weight champion.
Crawford made a stylish nod to Claressa Shields, who has already won the title in the women’s division, when he promised he would become the first man to win the three-weight title.
Alvarez described himself as a “winner” and exclaiming, “You don’t look different,” in a similar vein to Crawford.

The fight will take place at the 65, 000-person Allegiant Stadium in Vegas, home to the NFL Raiders.
UFC president Dana White’s new boxing team, which collaborated with Saudi fighter Turki Alalshikh, whose partnership almost ended in a flop before being revived in recent weeks, will also promote it.
While White was absent, Alalshikh was seated at the top table.
The General Entertainment Authority’s chairman has been the source of incredible Saudi investment in boxing over the past 18 months, but he has not frequently been present at boxing events.
In the opening remarks, Alalshikh criticized “Tom and Jerry” fights and demanded that they give him “smashing face.” He also pressed two of the greatest fighters of their generation.
The media only posed questions to Alalshikh before he left the stage during the first leg of a three-city press tour that included Las Vegas and New York.
Both fighters spoke for almost 25 minutes before either fighter paused.
Saudi Arabia has put a lot of money into sport in an effort to diversify its national income, according to the kingdom, but it is still accused of using it as a tool for propaganda and sportwashing.
The Saudi investment in boxing shows no sign of slowing down, especially with Alalshikh set to launch a new super-fight series on Netflix and establish a new marketing channel for it.
Returning to boxing, the traditional face-off was the final product of the press conference.
Alvarez was the first to turn his head away in a tear-jerking staredown as the dramatic music played.
Crawford claimed this is the fight he had always wanted, despite Alalshikh’s public support.
“I called Canelo out because he is the last outstanding fighter to surpass us,” he said. The Floyd Floyd, the Manny Pacquiao, and the Oscar De La Hoya. He had the opportunity to fight them because we both were raised in that time.
