On September 5 in Dublin, Belfast featherweight Michael Conlan will take on Jack Bateson.

It would always be a long road back for another shot because of the losses in previous world featherweight titles.
Conlan waited out 2024 after losing to Gill in December of that year before admitting that the only reason he was fighting was to capture the elusive world title.
From this point forward, it must be win-win territory, and head trainer Grant Smith is making the necessary adjustments.
The Belfast man has argued that this will come to an end if he doesn’t get in shape before he is confident that he will.
Conlan still has the ability to draw crowds, and that ability opens doors, so it may take a while before things fully come to a head.
A chance at one of the current champions next year is not beyond his control if he defeats Bateson, and perhaps there is another test at a higher level.

Rabiu Kwankwaso, the New Nigeria’s People Party (NNPP), is free to rejoin the ruling APC and work with President Buhari, according to Felix Morka, a spokesman for the All Progressives Congress (APC).  ,
He is a Federal Republic of Nigerian national. On Monday, Morka said on Channels Television’s The Morning Show that anyone who wants to join APC could join it.
“We welcome those who want to join our party, work with us, and collaborate with the president to help him achieve the goals he has set for his administration,” the president said.
Kwankwaso is an elite member, one of Nigeria’s top citizens, and he has the freedom to choose whether to join his party, to join any party, or to remain in his party.
“We will handle that as we have responded to other people’s requests,” Kwankwaso said if he decides to join APC tomorrow. The procedure remains the same. Those who enter our party are celebrated. He continued, “We are hoping to grow even bigger.”

He added a white heart emoji to the words, “We can’t wait to meet you.”

Prior to joining Bake Off, Matty taught science and PE in Cambridgeshire, and he claimed his students were “impressed” when the program ran.

While most Glastonbury goers were camping in stifling hot tents and not showering for three days, Cruz Beckham and girlfriend Jackie Apostel had a very different kind of festival experience.
Far from slumming it, 20-year-old Cruz – the youngest son of David and Victoria Beckham – and his songwriter beau, 30, revealed they stayed in a Shikar Tent at Camp Kerala, the most luxurious on site accommodation area there, that by all accounts sounds more like a five-star hotel than glamping.
With four-poster king-sized beds, Egyptian cotton sheets and duck-down duvets, the tents are equipped with air conditioning and ensuite showers stocked with luxury toiletries. In snaps Jackie shared to Instagram, it looked like breakfast in bed was also an option as Cruz was spotted tucking into a full English delivered on a tray.
In the “vanity area,” where Jackie could get glammed up every day, was posing in a full-length mirror, perfect for those last-minute festival outfit checks. A main pamper, beauty salon, luxurious loos, and showers are all within a short walk of your tents, according to the website.
And since their tent for two had “power for a bedside lamp, a plug to charge your phone or devices, and a separate plug for hairdryers and straighteners,” Cruz and Jackie didn’t need to worry that their phones’ batteries might malfunction during the festival.

According to China’s Ministry of Commerce, Canada’s request for Hikvision to stop its local operations will “damage” bilateral trade, putting strain on previous efforts to bolster bilateral cooperation.
After Canadian Industry Minister Melanie Joly announced last week on the social media platform X that Hikvision Canada Inc. had been ordered to stop all operations because it thought their continued operation would “inflict harm” the nation’s security, Joly made the remarks on Monday.
Departments and agencies would be prohibited from using Hikvision products, according to her statement on Friday, which did not provide specifics about the alleged threat posed by them. Additionally, the government is “conducting a review of existing properties to ensure that legacy Hikvision products are not used going forward.”
China’s Commerce Ministry reacted by accusing Ottawa of “overgeneralizing national security,” saying that “China is very disappointed.”
The statement read, “This not only undermines the legitimate rights and interests of Chinese companies, but it also tramples and damages the normal economic and trade cooperation between China and Canada,” the statement read.
