Prince Harry’s sad admission about Archie and Lilibet as he declares love for his homeland

After losing his security battle appeal challenge, Prince Harry addressed the safety of his family and the breakdown of his relationship with King Charles in an emotional interview.

Prince Harry has given a bombshell interview after sensationally losing his Court of Appeal challenge over his security arrangements in the UK.

The Duke of Sussex has shared his hopes of a “reconciliation” with the rest of the Royal Family as he claimed his father, King Charles, “refuses” to speak with him. The ruling handed down earlier this afternoon is a huge blow for Harry, who previously argued he wanted his children, Prince Archie, five, and Princess Lilibet, three, to know their UK heritage.

But he says he cannot bring them or wife Meghan to his beloved home country as he does not feel it is safe for them without taxpayer-funded police protection. He had been challenging the dismissal of his High Court claim against the Home Office over the decision of the Executive Committee for the Protection of Royalty and Public Figures (Ravec) that he should receive a different degree of protection when in the country.

The duke’s lawyers told the Court of Appeal that his safety, security, and life are “at stake” and that he had been “singled out” for “inferior treatment” at a two-day hearing in April. Harry’s appeal was rejected, however, by Sir Geoffrey Vos, Lord Justice Bean, and Lord Justice Edis.

Speaking tonight with the BBC, he said: “I can’t see a world in which I would be bringing my wife and children back to the UK at this point. The things they’re going to miss, well, that’s everything.

I have always cherished my country. Despite what some people there have done. I adore the UK, and I do. He continued, “I think it’s really sad that I won’t be able to show my kids my homeland.”

Harry claimed that because of this security issues, Harry won’t speak to me about the breakup in his relationship with his father. The Duke claimed that because of his security arrangements in the UK, he had not asked his father to intervene. I’ve never asked him to intervene, he continued.

I’ve instructed him to leave. I let the experts do their jobs by going outside the box. The Royals and professionals make up the Ravec committee, which is expert. He continued, “Every visit I make back to the UK must pass through the royal household,” five years later.

The royal household is still my Ravec committee representative to this day. I don’t make that choice. I have to go through the royal household to understand that they are discussing and considering my best interests.

“I haven’t asked my father to intervene,” I replied. The Duke of Sussex responded, “Everything,” when asked by the BBC about how his current security arrangements made him feel uneasy. There are still many questions marks that many people will have as they continue, “I would not have taken this far if I did not have compelling evidence of facts that explain why the decision was made.” We have lost the appeal, but the other side has prevailed in keeping me unsafe.

Throughout the legal process, I am assured that I am completely informed. Based on this ruling, I have my worst fears known, and I haven’t learned that until this legal process in 2021.

“Did you know that the royal household sat on Ravec?” was one of the first things my lawyer said to me as the disclosure process began. “, and my jaw fell to the floor.” The Duke of Sussex felt disrespected by the system, according to Sir Geoffrey, who praised the arguments made by Harry’s barrister, Shaheed Fatima KC, as being “powerful and moving.”

However, he continued, “I could not conclude, having examined the specifics of the extensive documentation, that the duke’s concern for the decision challenge resulted in a legal justification.” The duke was, in effect, entering and exiting the Ravec protection group, he continued. Although he was outside the cohort when he was in the UK, his security would be regarded as appropriate.

He continued, “It was impossible to say that this reasoning was illogical or inappropriate; in fact, it seemed reasonable.” Ravec’s decision, according to Sir Geoffrey, was “understandable and perhaps predictable.” At Friday’s brief hearing, Harry was not present.

The Home Office, which is legally liable for Ravec’s decisions, opposed the appeal, whose attorneys previously claimed that Ravec’s decision was made under a “unique set of circumstances” and that there was “no proper basis” for contesting it.

We are pleased that the court has decided in favor of the government’s position in this case, according to a Home Office spokesman. The UK Government’s security measures are fair and effective. We’ve always had a policy of not providing detailed information about those arrangements because doing so could compromise their validity and affect people’s security.

Popovich steps down as Spurs coach after 29 years

Gregg Popovich has stepped down from his position as head coach of the San Antonio Spurs after 29 seasons with the team.

On Friday the Spurs announced that Popovich, 76, will transition into the role of president of basketball operations at the organisation.

Over 29 seasons Popovich oversaw 1,422 regular season victories – the most by a head coach in NBA history – and led the Spurs to five NBA championships, most recently in 2014.

“While my love and passion for the game remain, I’ve decided it’s time to step away as head coach,” said Popovich.

“I’m forever grateful to the wonderful players, coaches, staff and fans who allowed me to serve them as the Spurs head coach and I am excited for the opportunity to continue to support the organisation, community and city that are so meaningful to me.”

Popovich has not been on the sidelines since suffering a mild stroke in November before a home win over the Minnesota Timberwolves.

In his absence the Spurs failed to reach the 2025 NBA play-offs – they have not played in the post-season since 2019 – after finishing the regular season with a 34-48 record.

Popovich arrived in San Antonio in 1988 as an assistant coach, and after a two-year spell with the Golden State Warriors, returned to the Spurs as head coach in 1996.

He was the longest serving active coach in any major US sport.

The longest serving NBA coach is now Erik Spoelstra, 54, who has led the Miami Heat since the 2008-09 season.

Brooklyn Beckham has remained radio silent on his dad David’s huge milestone despite reports of a family reunion. The football icon, who turns 50 today, is said to have been left devastated following a fallout between his two eldest sons.

He reportedly extended an olive branch to Brooklyn, 26, and his wife Nicola Peltz after they distanced themselves from the Beckham clan. David is keen to mark his huge birthday without a hitch as he brings his family together amid weeks of fallout rumours. It is said to have boiled down to Brooklyn and Nicola not believing Romeo’s new partner has the right intentions.

Romeo, 22, has begun dating Brooklyn’s former teammate Kim Turnbull, who David and Victoria have welcomed back into their lives.

Brooklyn and Nicola failed to attend the England ace’s pre-birthday bash in Miami, which included guests such as football legend Lionel Messi and former supermodel Cindy Crawford.

It was thought the alleged feud was subsiding when Brooklyn and Nicola headed to the UK ahead of David’s party tonight. He has invited all his family to the triple-Michelin starred restaurant Core in west London.

Despite both Brooklyn and Nicola expected to be there, it seems the aspiring chef hasn’t cleared the air publicly. He has failed to share a post celebrating his England ace dad on Instagram, with Nicola also remaining silent.

Cruz and Romeo, David’s youngest son, and Romeo, his youngest son, have yet to have their own social media accounts.

According to reports, Brooklyn and Nicola’s husband are in the UK.

Speculation of a family fallout mounted once again when neither Brooklyn or Nicola publicly wished Victoria a happy 51st birthday. In another twist, neither Victoria or David, commented on Brooklyn and Nicola’s third wedding anniversary.

To commemorate his big day, David did mention all of his children in a post. As he shared images of his own early years as a father and how he became a father, he declared, “As I reflect on this birthday I feel very grateful for many things in my life, the teams I’ve played for, my team mates, managers, fans, MY COUNTRY and being England captain, the children I have met over different charities I work with, my team in my business &amp, the friends I have around me I feel truly blessed…

My family, my parents, and my sisters who had to put up with following their brother around in the cold and my amazing nan and grandad are all the things that made the biggest difference for me and will always be that.

Liverpool captain Fahey to retire at end of season

Liverpool captain Niamh Fahey is set to retire at the end of the Women’s Super League season.

The 37-year-old announced her retirement from international football earlier this year after 115 appearances for the Republic of Ireland.

A lifelong Liverpool fan, Fahey will complete her playing career when the Reds face WSL champions Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on the last day of the season.

“It’s hard to summarise into words the emotions that I feel as I’m retiring, there are probably too many,” Fahey said.

“All I can say is how fortunate I feel for the career I’ve had and being able to finish it all off at my girlhood club Liverpool FC.”

A five-time winner of the FA Cup, Fahey won four league titles during a six-year stay at Arsenal before claiming another WSL title with Chelsea in 2015.

After a short spell with French side Bordeaux in the 2017-18 season, she joined Liverpool in 2018 and has since gone on to make 123 WSL appearances for the club.

Fahey stayed with Liverpool when they were relegated to the Women’s Championship on a points-per-game ratio in the Covid-disrupted 2019-2020 season and helped them earn promotion back to the WSL two seasons later.

“My time at Liverpool has been a rollercoaster for sure! From some real lows to some unforgettable highs,” she added.

“Ultimately, I feel so proud of the last seven years, the journey we’ve been on and for me personally being able to pull on the red shirt, captain the team and wear the Liver Bird on my chest.”

Liverpool interim head coach Amber Whiteley said Fahey was “everything you could ever want in a captain”.

Whiteley added: “A wonderful player and incredible human being, our game is in a better place because of Niamh and everything that she has contributed across her entire career for club and country.”

Head coach Hunter leaves Exeter after record 79-17 loss

Getty Images

Exeter head coach Rob Hunter has left the club by mutual consent.

The move comes four days after he and attack coach Ali Hepher were suspended following Chiefs’ club-record 79-17 loss at Gloucester.

Hunter had only had four games as head coach, having been promoted to the role following Hepher’s demotion in March.

After a 52-38 loss at Bristol, he led Exeter to their third win of the season with a 17-15 victory over Newcastle.

An encouraging 26-24 loss to Bath followed before last Sunday’s 13-try thrashing at Kingsholm.

It brings to an end a 13-year spell at Sandy Park for the former England Under-20s boss.

He spent much of his time as Exeter’s forwards coach and helped the club win two Premiership titles and the 2020 European Champions Cup.

Exeter chairman and chief executive Tony Rowe said: “On behalf of everyone at Exeter Rugby Club, I would like to express our gratitude to Rob for his dedication and the impact he has had during his time with us. We wish him every success in his future endeavours.”

Director of rugby Rob Baxter, who has returned to overseeing coaching for the rest of the season, added: “Rob has been an integral part of our coaching team across multiple seasons.

“I want to personally thank him for his hard work, loyalty, and the positive influence he has had on the squad.

Hunter is the second coach this season to leave the troubled club, who are ninth in the Premiership this season.

Defence coach Omar Mouneimne left at the end of October as Exeter had their worst start to a season in their history – a run of eight successive league losses.

But the poor form continued as they were heavily beaten in all of their Champions Cup pool games – including a record European defeat – 69-17 – by Bordeaux.

Baxter is now in control of coaching until the end of the season, with new defence coach Haydn Thomas and skills coach Ricky Pellow alongside him.

But it means he will be looking for at least two new coaches in the summer, with former Newcastle boss Dave Walder heavily linked with becoming the club’s new backs coach.

The club will also need a head coach, and may well want to add a forwards specialist as well.

Hepher is due to leave his first-team role at the end of the season for a new position working with academy players transitioning to the Exeter first team.

Massive police swoop in FCT nets record 1,611 suspects, 21 stolen vehicles recovered

In its ongoing crackdown on crime and criminals’ hideouts, the FCT Police Command said it has recovered 21 stolen vehicles and apprehended 1,611 suspects through coordinated operations in April 2025, Persecondnews reports.

FCT Police Commissioner Ajao Adewale disclosed this at a media briefing at the command headquarters on Friday in Abuja, where he advised car owners to adopt basic safety measures such as installing tracking devices, pedal locks, and steering wheel locks to prevent vehicle theft.

The operations, he said, were driven by intelligence and aimed at tackling the growing incidents of car theft and drug-related crimes in the FCT.

According to Adewale, the command’s targeted raids on blackspots and hideouts, backed by other security agencies and vigilante groups, yielded arrests of suspects involved in diverse crimes.

The police boss also disclosed that 15 suspects were arrested in connection with car theft incidents, and out of the 21 recovered vehicles, six have been returned to their owners, while 15 vehicles were showcased during the press briefing.

Elaborating on the arrests, Adewale said: “On April 11, police operatives attached to the Central Police Station intercepted a 1999 Toyota Camry, popularly known as “pencil light,” being driven suspiciously near the Revenue Mobilization and Fiscal Commission. The driver, Hassan Bukar, attempted to escape but was apprehended.

“Investigations revealed that the vehicle had been stolen from the Commission’s premises. A bunch of master keys used in vehicle theft was recovered from the suspect, who confessed to plans of selling the car in Kaduna State.

“In another case, on April 10, one Daniel James reported to the police that his mechanic, Abdulazeez Auwal Salisu, had disappeared with his 2011 Toyota Camry. The car was traced to a buyer in Gwarinpa, and the suspect, Alex Lucky Ologhosele, was arrested. The vehicle was recovered, while Abdulazeez remains at large.

“Also, on March 4, the Command recovered an official Hilux vehicle that had been stolen by its assigned driver, Abubakar Sadio. The driver had driven the vehicle away on March 3 and was apprehended in Kaduna while trying to sell it. Another unregistered Hilux was also found in his possession.

“On April 28, five men attempting to sell a stolen Mercedes Benz E-400 were arrested in Life Camp. The suspects Suleiman Idris, Isyaku Habibu, Ganiyu Sadiq, Idowu Akintunde, and Bello Muyideen were caught after a potential buyer alerted police about the suspicious transaction. The vehicle was confirmed to have been stolen from Lagos.

“The Command also carried out massive anti drug raids between April 30 and May 1. A total of 1,488 suspects were arrested in a joint operation with the Army, local hunters, and other security outfits. These operations took place in several high crime zones within the FCT.

“Exhibits recovered during these raids include large quantities of cannabis, methamphetamine, tramadol, codeine, ziphanol, Exol, diazepam, and other narcotics. Non-drug items recovered include 149 mobile phones, 14 laptops, 10 tablets, 109 ATM cards, 15 motorcycles, 10 POS machines, and two generator sets.”

The police commissioner praised the joint effort of all security agencies and urged residents to view security as a collective responsibility while reiterating the importance of sharing timely information with the police and remaining vigilant in their neighborhoods.

He said: “During our investigations, we observed that many criminals use sophisticated tools to bypass car security systems. Simple devices like tracking systems can deter them or aid recovery. I want to strongly urge residents to install car trackers. These devices are no longer luxury they are a necessity in today’s security environment.

“It is important to know who your neighbor is and what they do. This awareness can help in preventing crimes.”

The commissioner reiterated the Command’s dedication to enhancing security in the FCT, stating that all suspects will be prosecuted once investigations are finalized.
