Norris ‘not worried at all’ about title challenge

Grand Prix of Miami

Miami International Autodrome Location: 2 – 4 May Race start time: 2:00 BST on Sunday

Despite Oscar Piastri outperforming him at the start of the season, Lando Norris claims that there is “no reason to be concerned” about this title campaign.

With his third victory in five races this year, Norris lost the championship to Piastri.

After establishing himself as the most consistent performer at McLaren this year, Piastri now leads the championship by 10 points, while Norris has struggled to get the best out of qualifying.

He continued, “I don’t believe in the momentum stuff as much. I’ve obviously made some mistakes and am not currently at the required level, but I think I can do so soon enough.

No cause for concern, really. Round six of 24 is now underway. That won’t be said for a while. I’m trying to improve, and the speed and race pace are all there; there is just one thing I need to do to make things better. Although it’s challenging, I’m certain I’ll succeed.

According to Norris, the 2025 McLaren’s behavior on corner entry impedes him from reaching his highest level of drivership.

There are just certain things that don’t let me feel what I need to feel, and those things allow me to drive to the level I can drive, to earn pole positions, and to drive at the highest level in racing, according to Norris, who won the season-opening race in Australia.

“We’re talking about little things,” the statement read. I’m complaining about qualifying at the hundredth and thousandth of a second. He might be able to adapt more naturally, and I believe it is also the responsibility of the driver to adapt.

It’s clear there have been some adjustments, but I don’t want to waste my time on whether they have suited Oscar or whether they have done better adaptations.

However, it has caused me pain and prevented me from performing at my best, previous level.

Norris claimed that the McLaren car would receive a number of improvements over the upcoming races that should assist him.

He continued, “There are things I am working on myself, and hopefully that will be a better fix. I don’t just want to rely on that.

Some of these things require time, so I’ll just keep working on them while I’m at it.

Trump replaces Mike Waltz with Marco Rubio as national security adviser

Donald Trump, the president of the United States, has announced that he will no longer nominate Mike Waltz as ambassador to the UN and resign him as his national security adviser.

After a morning of frenzied rumors that Waltz and Deputy National Security Advisor Alex Wong had been forced to resign from their posts, the revelation was made on Thursday.

On his social media platform Truth Social, Trump wrote, “I’m pleased to announce that I will be nominating Mike Waltz to be the next US ambassador to the UN.” “Mike Waltz has worked tirelessly to prioritize the interests of our nation.” In his new role, I’m sure he will do the same.

Trump claimed that Marco Rubio, the secretary of state, would continue to serve as the nation’s top diplomat while replacing him with the position of national security adviser.

Trump said, “Together, we will continue to fight unabatedly to save America and the world.”

The president’s message appeared to confirm his second-term’s first significant staffing adjustment. After his relationship with Trump cooled, anonymous sources informed major US news outlets earlier that Waltz had been forced to leave.

Waltz’s reputation has suffered as a result of a mistake that led to the sharing of details of US military attacks with a private chat on the app Signal.

Trump, however, has publicly supported Waltz and refrained from punishing him for the Signal scandal.

Trump used to cycle through national security advisers throughout his first term. He had four different national security advisers, starting with the only four-weekly Lieutenant General Michael Flynn, who he had in office for four years.

Waltz, a former US Congressman, started out in Florida’s 6th district. He resigned from his congressional position in January to join the Trump administration despite being re-elected to his seat in 2024.

Prior to joining the US army as a Green Beret, a division of the special forces, he had previously been.

Trump announced Waltz as his nominee for national security adviser on November 12th, noting that “Mike has been a strong supporter of my America First Foreign Policy agenda and will be a tremendous supporter of our pursuit of peace through strength.”

However, Waltz’s background in foreign policy has drawn scrutiny. Trump has pledged to end world wars in his second term, but critics point out that Waltz has historically taken a more hawkish stance.

He opposed the widespread withdrawal of US troops from Afghanistan without concessions from the Taliban while serving as a counterterrorism adviser to Vice President Dick Cheney under the former President George W. Bush’s administration.

Some of Trump’s “Make America Great Again” (MAGA) supporters were becoming targets for Waltz and his staff as a result. Laura Loomer, a far-right social media personality, reportedly criticised Waltz and other national security officials at a White House meeting in April.

Waltz and Wong were not among Trump’s six National Security Council (NSC) officials at the time of the meeting.

On social media on Thursday, Loomer made an appearance to celebrate Waltz’ and Wong’s departures. “Hopefully, the rest of the people who were going to be fired but who received promotions at the NSC under Waltz also depart,” she wrote.

However, Waltz’s standing in the White House was hampered by the revelation that top officials discussed a bombing campaign in Yemen during a private conversation with editor Jeffrey Goldberg of The Atlantic magazine.

Goldberg claimed in his account of the incident that Waltz’s had an unanticipated invitation from a Signal account. Goldberg initially questioned the authenticity of the invitation. However, he ended up in a conversation with Rubio, the secretary of state, and vice president JD Vance, who is also a defense secretary.

They appeared to be discussing upcoming plans to bomb targets occupied by the Yemeni-based armed group the Houthis. Hegseth shared some of those details, including the precise timings and types of aircraft used in the bombing campaign.

Waltz has acknowledged his involvement in the scandal, and the White House has since stated that it is “case closed.”

“I assume full accountability.” Waltz told Fox News in March that he “built the group.” According to Goldberg, “We have the best technical minds looking into how this happened.” But I can assure you that I don’t know this person.

Waltz will have to go through a Senate confirmation hearing in order to assume the position of UN ambassador, which he previously did not. His Senate questioning will likely focus on a significant portion of his involvement in the “Signalgate” scandal.

Jaipur, the Indian Premier League

Mumbai Indians 217-2 (20 overs): Rickelton 61 (38), Rohit 53 (36)

Rajasthan Royals 117 (16.1 overs): Archer 30 (27), K Sharma 3-23, Boult 3-28

Mumbai Indians won by 100 runs.

Just three days after posting a record-breaking century in the Indian Premier League as a result of a two-ball duck, 14-year-old pitcher Vaibhav Suryavanshi went through the lows of elite sport.

In his subsequent outing, the gifted talent lobbed a catch to Will Jacks inside the first over of the Rajasthan Royals’ chase, making him the youngest player to surpass 100 men in men’s T20 history on Monday in the victory over Gujarat Titans.

His dismissal was only the start of his team’s problems, as the Mumbai Indians bowlers broke through the Rajasthan line-up, winning by 100 runs in the 17th over.

All eyes were on Suryavanshi as Rajasthan sprinted for a record-breaking 218 runs in his third start in the IPL, which he had already scored 101 from 35 balls.

He had to settle for six after making his debut by diving into the covers before chipping to Jacks on Deepak Chahar’s next delivery midway through.

In the following over, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Trent Boult’s opening partner, hit two sixes to the head, but the veteran New Zealand seamer then exacted revenge by bowling the India international.

Before 37-year-old spinner Karn Sharma took three wickets for 23 to prevent Rajasthan from facing a fightback, Jasprit Bumrah dismissed Riyan Parag and Shimron Hetmyer with consecutive deliveries.

Jofra Archer won the game-tying 30 points in Mumbai, but Boult returned to have the England seamer caught at short fine-leg and finish with figures of 3-28.

With a 116-point opening partnership, Mumbai openers Rohit Sharma and Ryan Rickelton put their team on a strong foot with theirs.

Maheesh Theekshana bowled South African Rickelton for 61, and Rohit followed with a score of 61, sending Parag to Jaiswal at long-off after scoring 53.

Suryakumar Yadav and Hardik Pandya both scored an unbeaten 48 from 23 balls as Mumbai came to a close with 217-2, a total Rajasthan was unable to chase.

Katherine Ryan asks ‘am I going to die?’ after shock new health discovery

After discovering that her skin cancer had returned for a second time, comedian Katherine Ryan admitted she feared for her life.

Katherine Ryan’s shock over the news of her health has been revealed.

Katherine Ryan was left fearing for her future when she received an unexpected health diagnosis. The comedian, who told fans she had been diagnosed with skin cancer for a second time earlier this year, even asked: “Am I going to die?”

She has long been open with her followers about her health, as she was first diagnosed with stage two melanoma in her 20s, after finding an irregular mole on her leg, which was also removed down the line. Katherine had a cancerous mole removed earlier this year, and has since been sharing more health updates. The TV star, 41, discussed her own medical history after being told she has a medical age of 77.

She made the revelation that she had Discoid Lupus Erythematosus (DLE) and had been misdiagnosed with ringworm on her face. It can be a localized or widespread photosensitive skin eruption that lasts for a long time.

If treatment is insufficient, the condition can result in permanent scarring. On the What’s My Age Again program, she claimed, “I was originally diagnosed with ringworm on my face, but it was discoid rash.” Dr. Chris Wincup and Dr. Nicola Conlan make a podcast.

“And leprosy, I pondered leprosy,” I wasn’t actually diagnosed with leprosy, though. It was just a guy sitting on a bench suggesting it to me, sort of.

Katherine and the hosts tested her glycolic age while sharing her health concerns. Blood tests are used to determine a person’s biological age and how to interpret it in terms of chronology.

She retorted, “Nicola, am I going to die?” What are the findings of your analysis positive? The positive is, as the aging expert once said, that knowing something about it means you can do something about it.

It’s not reversible, Katherine responded. My illness is persistent. You and your young northern friends and I won’t be doing any yoga together. I appreciate your constant efforts to offer useful advice, but I just feel like I’m 77.

With the few weeks and months leading up to the test, the comedian admitted: “I thought it was going to be older, to be honest with you.

In March, Katherine underwent a second operation after revealing she has been battling skin cancer after being diagnosed with melanoma.

She shared how she became concerned in 2022 and pushed for answers, stressing that without speaking up, the issue might’ve been missed.

A new mole or a change in an existing mole, as described by the NHS website, could indicate the condition. It is a type of skin cancer that can spread to other body parts.

Katherine explained that because of the constant evolution of her mole, she didn’t accept it at first. She said, “The mole kept changing, I know a lot about melanoma, I had stage two melanoma on my leg, and I’ve already spoken about that in a recent episode of her podcast Telling Everybody Everything.”

She later continued, “But even when he looked at it, he was like, “I will do a shave and send it away for testing,” “It’s not melanoma, it’s totally fine.”

The comic continued, adding that she felt different despite being assured by her doctor that there was nothing to worry about. The doctor was shocked because it doesn’t look like melanoma but it is, Kathy said. “It’s early melanoma.”

Katherine assured her fans that she was out of danger in an update. Not a conflict, though. There isn’t a fight. The conflict is over. She claimed at the time that she had a mole removed. It recovered from an early stage of melanoma, so it’s fine.

When is the British and Irish Lions squad named?

Images courtesy of Getty

Head coach Andy Farrell will announce his team for the British and Irish Lions’ tour of Australia on Thursday, May 8 at a live event in London, after months of rumors.

There might only be a few players from Wales after their disappointing results last year, but Scotland and England should also be well represented.

Players who are not in the Six Nations’ squads, such as Racing 92’s Owen Farrell and Jack Willis from Toulouse, have also been linked with a place in the squad.

A total of 37 players were chosen for the Lions’ initial squad for their final South African tour in 2021, despite Farrell’s not revealing how many players he will select.

Ieuan Evans, a former Lions chairman and former wing of Wales, will reveal the squad while he is a member of the team’s successful Australian tour in 1989.

The captain will be who?

The Lions are one of the top contenders behind England lock Maro Itoje and Ireland lock Caelan Doris, both of whom are national team captains.

How to follow the BBC’s announcement about the Lions squad

From 13:00 BST, you can follow live text coverage on the BBC Sport app and website.

Chris Jones, a correspondent for BBC Radio 5 Live, will be covering the announcement.

BBC reporters will also be present at sporting events and rugby unions in Wales, Ireland, and England.

What games are between the Irish and British Lions?

Before departing for Australia, the Lions will play their opening game in Dublin against Argentina on June 20.

Before Brisbane’s three-test series with the Wallabies kicks off on July 19th, the visitors will have five warm-up games to play.

Lions vs. Argentina at the Aviva Stadium on Friday, June 20.

Perth Lions vs. Western Force on Saturday, June 28 (Optus Stadium).

Lions vs. Queensland Reds game at Suncorp Stadium on Wednesday, July 2 (Suncorp Stadium)

Sydney Lions vs. NSW Waratahs on July 5 (Allianz Stadium)

Lions vs. ACT Brumbies game on Wednesday, July 9 at GIO Stadium in Canberra.

Lions vs. Invitational AU & NZ, Adelaide (Adelaide Oval), Saturday, 12 July.

First Test of the Lions vs. Australia match takes place on Saturday, July 19 at Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane.

Lions vs. Melbourne Rebels at Melbourne’s Velo Stadium on July 22.

Second Test between the Lions and Australia at Melbourne (Melbourne Cricket Ground/MCG) on Saturday, July 26.

Third Test match between the Lions and Australia at Sydney (Accor Stadium) on Saturday, August 2.

The Lions’ coaches are who?

Farrell’s coaching staff heavily relies on the Ireland setup he left behind to lead the Lions.

As assistant coach, Lions great Johnny Sexton, who started all three Tests of the 2013 series win over Australia, is joined by attack specialist Andrew Goodman and scrum coach John Fogarty, who was Ireland’s interim head coach prior to this year’s Six Nations.

Both England’s senior coach Richard Wigglesworth and Scotland’s forward coach John Dalziel are present.

Australia’s history of the Lions

The Lions played club and regional sides before their first World War II appearance in 1888, but the touring party had already played before the Wallabies.

They returned the following year before visiting again in 1904, 1908, 1930, 1950, 1959 and 1966, when they also toured New Zealand.

They only traveled to Australia once more in 1989, winning the Wallabies 2-1.

England’s Jason Robinson scored a stunning opening try in the third minute to win their first Test match 29-13 at the Gabba on their subsequent tour in 2001.

They had a half-time lead in the second, but Australia rallied to end the game and force a final decision.

The hosts would win the series 2-1 and win the Tom Richards Trophy in Sydney with a famous 29-23 victory.

The Lions would make amends for their 2013 victory, which they won 2-1.

One of the greatest tries in Lions history, George North, scored for the visitors in the opening Test to give them a 23-21 victory, before Australia added a point to tie the series at one point.
