Jesy Nelson shares update from hospital room ahead of birth of twins

Little Mix star Jesy Nelson has updated her hospital staff with a message as she awaits the arrival of her twins following her emergency operation in March.

Jesy Nelson gave an update on her status while she was in the hospital awaiting her twins.

Jesy Nelson has provided fans with an update as she remains in hospital before the birth of her twins. The former Little Mix singer, 32, has been receiving constant medical care after having emergency surgery earlier this year. She has been supported by partner musician Zion Foster, 26, throughout her worrying time in hospital. Jesy was rushed in after it was discovered her twins were at risk of a condition called twin-to-twin transfusion syndrome.

If untreated, the condition can cause issues for the unborn twins – including growth problems, organ failure, and even death. Still hospital-bound, Jesy has been providing update to her concerned fans. Over the weekend, she was able to watch her boyfriend Zion run the London Marathon on TV as he ran to raise awareness about the condition.

Jesy has since updated her hospital room with additional updates as she adjusts. As she was treated to a beauty session, she continued to be inspired and upbeat.

When she revealed her eyelash extensions, the pop star showed up up upbeat and thankful for some pampering. She explained to the fans, “So the lovely @glashesbyhols came and did my lashes yesterday and I can honestly say I’m obsessed.”

I’ve never had brown lashes before, and she made a little different shape, which I absolutely adore. Don’t believe I’ll ever return to black right away”!

Following surgery in March, the couple took to Instagram to share information. Jesy said: “Hi guys, so we just wanted to give you an update because we know it’s been a while.

We want to wish all the amazing and resilient mothers out there a happy Mother’s Day. Second, I’ve been recovering because we’re still being treated in the hospital.

“But we have some fantastic news. The operation was a success, which is just incredible, and the TTTS has cleared up. We have the most amazing doctors, and we are so, so fortunate.

My cervix is very, very short, so I can’t leave the hospital because my waters could break at any point and I’m still very, very early, in essence.

The pregnant singer is currently being held in hospital
The singer has been receiving medical attention since March.

Jesy continued, “Ok, I can’t leave the hospital until I’ve spent a certain amount of weeks.” Although we pray that the babies will stay in my belly each week, we are also very grateful that they are still here, that they are still developing, and that we are also very thankful.

Zion then said, “We’re in such a blessed, blessed situation that we’re even able to make this video and share this good news.”

Zion also told the Mirror that Jesy is “ticking off milestones every week” until they can become proud parents. Speaking ahead of running the London Marathon, he said: “They’re just giving us so much hope they’re going to come out healthy and spend the least time in the neonatal unit as possible.

“We’re so grateful because Jesy and the twins have come through so much. There were so many times in this pregnancy we didn’t think we’d get to where we are now.”

Jesy and Zion announced her twin pregnancy in January to fans on social media. He added: “I do think we’ve come out of the storm a little bit. I mean, look, the truth is she’s still premature.

The reality is that they still need to stay in, they say. But where we’ve arrived, we’re just so appreciative. We simply keep ticking off day by day, hoping to let them go as long as possible.

Ozzy Osbourne admits he will only manage a few songs in final Black Sabbath gig

In preparation for the July show, Ozzy Osbourne will play alongside Black Sabbath for the final time.

Ozzy Osbourne has promised fans that their last show will have a “sample” of hits.

Ozzy Osbourne has vowed to “do the best I can” as he prepares to play his final ever live show with Black Sabbath. The frontman and singer, 76, has been diagnosed with a form of Parkinson’s and has had other health issues for a number of years now which have prevented him going back out on tour. Instead Ozzy and Black Sabbath will headline their final gig on July 5th at Villa Park in Birmingham, as part of an event titled “Back To The Beginning”.

For the first time in 20 years, this show will bring together the original band members, including Bill Ward, Ozzy Osbourne, Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler, and Tony Ward. Ozzy said, “I’ll be there, and I’ll do the best I can,” when he discussed the possibility of getting back on stage. So I’ll just have to “turn up” now.

Ozzy Osbourne
One last time will Ozzy enter the stage.

He added that “we’re only playing a few songs each,” and that fans can expect more. Because it’s going to be… what’s the word, I don’t want people to think “we’re getting ripped off.” You’ll receive a few Ozzy and Sabbath songs each as a sample.

Additionally, bands from various heavy metal genres, such as Metallica, Slayer, and Pantera, will play at the concert.

However, Ozzy won’t be able to play a full set due to his poor health. He also has Parkinson’s, and he fell at home in 2019 to worsen injuries from a near-fatal quad bike accident in 2003, preventing him from advancing on his No More Tours 2 shows in Europe and the UK.

Due to illness, the Covid pandemic, and logistical issues, the tour had previously been rescheduled several times.

Ozzy told the Guardian, “You wake up the next morning and discover that something else has gone wrong. You start to believe that this will never come to an end.

He continued, adding that his wife Sharon had the idea behind the reunion concert as “something to give me a reason to get up in the morning.”

Without Ward on the drums, the band played its “last” gig in Birmingham in 2017 with Osborne, guitarist Iommi, and bassist Butler.

However, Ozzy missed the Rock ‘N’Roll Hall of Fame inauguration in America last year because of his poor health.

Osbourne, Iommi, Butler, and Ward were escaping a factory-based life in Birmingham where Black Sabbath’s story began.

Their 1970 debut album, which went on to become the UK’s top 10, opened the door to a long line of chart-topping hits.

With more than 75 million albums sold worldwide, they eventually became one of the most well-known and influential metal bands ever.

Osbourne was added for a second time last year after being inducted into the Rock &amp, Roll Hall of Fame in 2006.

He previously celebrated his home city in 2022 when he helped close the Commonwealth Games.

Through their reality TV series The Osbournes, he gained even more fame alongside his wife Sharon, who he wed in 1982 and who has three children, Aimee, Jack, and Kelly.

All profits from the July 5 show will go to charities including Cure Parkinson’s, Birmingham Children’s Hospital and Acorn Children’s Hospice, which is supported by Aston Villa.

Court rules against Trump’s use of Alien Enemies Act to deport Venezuelans

A judge in the United States has quashed President Donald Trump’s administration’s ability to deport Venezuelans from South Texas in violation of the Alien Enemies Act of 1798 (AEA).

The decision on Thursday is the first of its kind, and it is likely to face a swift appeal.

As Trump seeks to remove undocumented immigrants from the country quickly, it follows similar, if temporary, orders barring the government from using the law.

Judge Fernando Rodriguez Jr., a judge in the US District Court, ruled that the Trump administration had “exceeded the statutory boundaries” of the Alien Enemies Act, a wartime law.

On March 15, Trump signed an executive order to impose sanctions on Tren de Aragua members of Venezuela. He argued that Tren de Aragua was “propagandizing an invasion of and predatory incursion into the United States,” which supported such extreme measures.

After all, only three times before, most recently during World War II, were the Alien Enemies Act invoked.

However, Judge Rodriguez acknowledged that the gang engaged in behavior that “unambiguously is harmful to society” and that the threat of Tren de Aragua fell far short of the requirements for the Alien Enemies Act.

The judge wrote, “The Court concludes that Tren de Aragua’s activities do not fall within the plain, common definition of an invasion or a predatory incursion” in the context of the AEA.”

The Court rules that the President’s proclamation of the AEA goes beyond the meaning of the statute and is thus unlawful.

Judge Rodriguez ruled that the Trump administration could not “use the law” to “detain Venezuelan aliens, transfer them within the United States, or remove them from the country because they “did not possess the lawful authority under the AEA.”

Judge Rodriguez was appointed by Trump and served in his current capacity as a Republican leader in 2018. His decision affects Houston and the Southern District of Texas.

Although it is the most significant ruling of its kind, it also joins a number of court and legal decisions that evaluate the Trump administration’s use of Alien Enemies Act.

In times of war or invasion, the US government is authorized to detain and deport citizens of allies. However, its use has been highly polarized, with some calling it constitutional.

During World War II, the Alien Enemies Act was used as justification for the imprisonment of tens of thousands of Japanese Americans and other foreign nationals in camps. After the incident, decades later, the US officially apologized and offered compensation to Japanese American survivors.

The Alien Enemies Act is alleged to have been used by Trump as the first president to do so outside of combat. He has attempted to portray undocumented immigration to the US as an unchecked “invasion” of criminals who threaten US communities with violence by using nativist rhetoric.

Since taking office for a second term, Trump has labeled criminal organizations like Tren de Aragua as international terrorist organizations, making non-citizen members unadmissible in the US.

However, the Supreme Court has ruled (PDF) that foreigners have a right to judicial review of their cases when they are removed under the Alien Enemies Act.

Lower courts have also questioned whether the Trump administration’s use of the Alien Enemies Act violated that right to free speech.

Judges in Colorado, Manhattan, and Pennsylvania have temporarily enjoined the use of the law, and Judge James Boasberg in Washington, DC, has been in charge of a well-known case in which three planes deported from El Salvador were detained under the law despite an injunction against its use.

Boasberg ruled in favor of the Trump administration’s breach of his order last month, finding it to be “probable cause.” Boasberg has continued to face allegations in that case, but Trump and his allies claim that by interfering with foreign policy, he has overstepped his legal authority.

The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) applauded Judge Rodriguez’s decision on Thursday after being one of the plaintiffs who have filed lawsuits against the Alien Enemies Act’s use in court.

According to a statement from ACLU lawyer Lee Gelernt, the president can’t unilaterally invade the United States and invoke a wartime authority during peacetime. This 18th-century wartime law should never be used, according to Congress.

The ACLU’s Texas branch’s legal director Adriana Pinon also hailed the decision as a victory for immigrant rights.

“This permanent injunction is a significant win for preventing unlawful, unilateral executive action that has been stoking fear in Texas, especially within border communities,” she said.

“This state and nation are a largely a part of them,” said Immigrants, who have always been that way. Both US Constitution and US laws protect them.

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer also voiced his opposition, calling Trump’s use of the Alien Enemies Act unlawful.

Schumer wrote on social media that the Trump administration is “attempting to deport people without due process” and that it is “patently breaking the law.” Americans reject this, they say. They are being held accountable by the courts. We will continue to fight for our Constitution.

Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield’s bitter relationship now from ghosting to ‘witch’ jibes

When things started to go wrong, Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby were once the best friends in the industry, friends both on and off the screen, and there is no doubt about it.

From laughter and a lot of bad blood to Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby

Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby, who fronted more than one primetime show together, were the TV’s “golden couple” a few years ago. As well as hosting iconic daytime series This Morning together for over 14 years, the pair dazzled as co-hosts of Saturday evening show Dancing On Ice – back when it commanded millions of viewers.

Phillip and Holly’s natural onscreen chemistry, which frequently caused them to giggle, was a testament to their genuine friendship, which was remarkable in the shark-infested waters of the competitive television industry.

After frequently winning awards at the annual National TV Awards, the pair would often show up in ITV studios red-eyed and arriving worse for wear. But the personal friendship and professional partnership all came crashing down on May 18, 2023. Since their most recent performance together, they haven’t been seen together in public.

The Mirror looks at the sad demise of what was once the most solid of professional and personal partnerships.

Phil quits and admits ‘ I’ve lost my best friend ‘

It was May last year when the TV world was rocked as 63-year-old Phillip dramatically “quit” This Morning after admitting to lying about an ‘unwise but not illegal’ affair’ with a 20-year-old runner on the programme.

Along with the scandal, rumors about the alleged conflict between the former best friends started to spread. Following allegations that they had queue-jumped while watching the late Queen Elizabeth II lay in state at Westminster Hall in September 2022, they were subjected to criticism.

Matters between the pair appeared to escalate when Holly, 44, released a statement saying she was left feeling “hurt” after Phil’s “lies” came to light. In a bombshell interview with the BBC, Phil spoke about his last text to Holly before ties were severed.

“The last time we had a conversation was when I texted Holly and said, ‘ Don’t reply ‘ – this was after the statement last week – ‘ Don’t reply, you’re probably not allowed to, but I am deeply deeply sorry that I lied to you. I am, too. He added that he had “lost my best friend” and that the incident “was the one secret in our sanctuary that was never mentioned.”

Addressing rumours that the mum-of-three knew about the affair, Phillip said: “Holly did not know. And she was one of my first texts to express my regret for lying to you. She didn’t respond, and I am aware of why. So yeah. That is absolutely, wholly false if anyone is attempting to link Holly to this in any way.

Sex abuse scandal involving Phil’s brother

On May 19 2023 Phil’s brother Timothy was jailed for 12 years after being convicted of sexually abusing a vulnerable teenage boy over a three-year period. Initially Holly was reportedly furious that Phil kept her in the dark about the trial.

A friend told the Mirror: “There is a narrative – uncorrected by Holly’s team – that she was blindsided by news of his brother’s court case and was furious with him for keeping her in the dark about it.

‘But that narrative couldn’t be further from the truth.’

But when it became ‘bad for her brand’, it is understood Holly quickly turned her back on the former This Morning star when Timothy went on trial in May.

Phil’s bitterness

Phil initially stated that he comprehended Holly’s distance.

He told The Sun:” Quite rightly, when I am in the middle of a s*** show with bad press over something where I have done nothing wrong – in fact, I did everything right – it’s a witch hunt. And that eliminates that. She will take a step back and say, “I have to step back from this,” and I fully understand that.

But Holly’s apparent disinterest in patching things up appears to have caused an even wider rift, with Phil making some veiled jibes at his former friend and co-host in the 2024 Channel 5 show Cast Away.

I miss certain aspects of being on television, Phil said. If I’m honest, I miss most of it. But there are bits that I really, really, really don’t miss. “

You can learn a lot about people, Phil continued, despite Holly never being named. That’s something I’m not missing. When you throw someone under a bus, you’ve got to have a really bloody good reason to do it. “

Phil spent ten weeks away from Madagascar on an isolated tropical island.

He also made an appearance to mock Holly’s embarrassing “are you OK?” intro to viewers on This Morning after he left. When Phil and his wife Steph and their two daughters Molly, 31, and Ruby, 28, were filmed having a barbecue in their garden where he joked, “If you’re okay, then we’re okay, and I’m okay,” it became apparent that there is no end to their love these days. “Are you alright?”

Then, Phil made a bombshell remark suggesting he was fired from the This Morning sofa rather than leaving by choice after two decades, Phil said:” It’s inconceivable that I would quit]any show that he is on]. He continued, “I don’t quit, in a blunt comment. I’ve lost my job. But I never quit. “

In another scene whilst fishing on the island, he could be referring to Holly again when he says: “People who I thought were my friends, just went. And that’s like ‘what the hell?’.

Holly’s revels in having the “witch” status.

In October 2-24 it was claimed in The Sun, that Phil refers to his former pal Holly, 43, as ‘the witch’, within his inner circle. Friends of the disgraced presenter said Phil felt Holly and a This Morning boss had staged a ‘very well constructed coup’ as the country witnessed his dramatic fall from grace.

According to a source speaking to The Sun, he even uses a hatted hag’s emoji when discussing her with pals if she comes up.

A few days after Phil’s nickname for his ex bestie was reported, Holly seemingly referenced the jibe as she shared a picture of Kate Moss dressed as a witch on the catwalk in the 1990s for a Happy Halloween post.

The blonde beauty added Donovan’s Season of the Witch single in the background to tamp down the flame.

Holly returned to Dancing On Ice this year with Phil’s replacement Stephen Mulhern.

Since its launch in 2006, the pair has presented the program. Christine Lampard took over from Holly for three years, before Holly and Phil rejoined in 2018 after a break.

Catchphrase host Stephen permanently joined Holly Willoughby in presenting the sixteenth season of Dancing on Ice in January 2023. However the permanency of his role didn’t last long as the series was axed after this year’s series ended in March.

Following the blow, Holly issued an emotional statement on Instagram, but failed to mention her former co-host Phillip in the statement or feature him in photos. Following Dancing on Ice’ s axe, she shared a behind the scenes photo of the latest series as well as throwback snaps and wrote: “A huge thank you to @itv, The brilliant team, Crew, Celebrities and Everyone who has been part of our Dancing on Ice family over the last 19 years.

“Every year, just when January felt at its greyest, Dancing on Ice arrived like a burst of glittering, dazzling light, warm, joyful, and full of heart… It has been an absolute privilege to work alongside true national treasures Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean, and to have a front-row seat to their breathtaking skating.

Vic Reeves reveals he’s quit TV for good as he shares major career change

Vic Reeves, also known as Jim Moir, has revealed in an exclusive conversation with The Mirror that he has given up television and plans to devote his time to pursuing a different interest.

Vic Reeves was a comedy sensation when he burst on to our TV screens in the 1990s. Alongside his equally funny sidekick, Bob Mortimer, his surrealist humour had the nation howling. But after a career spanning nearly 30 years, he has quit showbiz to devote his life to countryside walks and painting.

Although it may seem like a dramatic career move, Vic, 66, who is now known as Jim Moir, claims that the stage production of Vic Reeves Big Night Out was meant to be a work of art. He claims, “I stopped doing comedy years ago. Bob and I don’t have to watch TV to watch that chemistry. I initially thought of Big Night Out as a work of art rather than a comedy when I started doing it. That was it in the end.

Being famous is “all the work that goes around the production.” Just being on TV was never something I really enjoyed.

The last Vic and Bob episode was in 2017, so we had to put that on hold.

He never gets bored, though, despite turning his back on famous people. I wake up very early, go to the studio, paint, and go for a walk in the afternoon, Jim, who lives in Kent with his wife Nancy, 50, says. That’s much better for me.
