Ozzy Osbourne ‘may be sitting down’ for his final performance amid health battles

This summer, Ozzy Osbourne will play his own short set before performing on stage for The Back To The Beginning with Black Sabbath band members Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler, and Bill Ward.

Rock legend Ozzy Osbourne said he “may be sitting down” for his final performance amid ongoing issues with his health.

The 76-year-old singer will deliver his own short set this summer before he joins Black Sabbath bandmates Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler and Bill Ward for their first performance together in 20 years. It forms The Back To The Beginning show on July 5 at Villa Park in Aston, Birmingham, where it all began for the rockers in 1968.

Although Ozzy was diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease in January 2020, the musician has continued to perform infrequently, including at the closing ceremony of the 2022 Commonwealth Games, which were held in his home city.

The veteran performer acknowledges that this summer’s performance may be his last and that he may have to sit down to perform it. He continued, “I’m used to jumping around and running for two hours on stage.” This time, I don’t believe I’ll be doing much jumping or running. I might be sat down.

Nevertheless, tickets for the all-day event – a fundraising concert – reportedly sold out within 16 minutes in February as fans scrambled for a chance to see Ozzy and his pals reunite. Ticket prices soared to £795, which left fans fuming.

Speaking to The Guardian this week, Ozzy continued: “I’ll be there, and I’ll do the best I can. So all I can do is turn up… We’re only playing a couple of songs each. I don’t want people thinking ‘we’re getting ripped off’, because it’s just going to be … what’s the word? … a sample, you’re going to get a few songs each by Ozzy and Sabbath.”

Three years after being diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease, the actor underwent extensive spinal surgery in 2023. The father-of-five admitted this week that he is currently having walking issues but is determined that this won’t stop him from impressing his summer fans.

I exercise, ride my bike, and have a neighbor who works for me. I’ve been laid up for such a long time, so it’s tough. Your strength is the first thing I need to go after lying on my back and doing nothing. The singer described it as “starting all over again.”

“I’ve got a vocal coach coming round four days a week to keep my voice going. I have problems walking. I also get blood pressure issues, from blood clots on my legs.”

Sciver-Brunt ‘given the reins’ to lead her way – Edwards

After Heather Knight’s nine-year tenure in charge, New England captain Nat Sciver-Brunt, according to head coach Charlotte Edwards, will “have the reins” to take the lead of the team in her own way.

Sciver-Brunt, an all-rounder who took maternity leave, was appointed England’s full-time coach on Tuesday and will make her comeback to training the following week.

Sciver-Brunt previously served as Knight’s vice-captain, but Edwards added that as the team transitions from a difficult year that culminated with a 16-0 Ashes thrashing in January, she is happy to be starting with a “blank canvas.”

At a launch event held at Lord’s for the ICC T20 World Cup, which will be held in England in 2026, former England captain Edwards said, “She is very laid back and unassuming for one of the best players in the world.”

We’ll be working very closely together, but she’ll have the power to take the lead by example on matchdays and take the lead.

Because she’s on her team and has to push things forward, “I’ll be asking her for her opinion on pretty much everything.”

The first game between Edwards and Sciver-Brunt will be a white-ball match between England and West Indies, which will start on May 21 and is followed by a match between India, which will host the 50-over World Cup at the end of September.

Sciver-Brunt has previously led England in 11 T20s and one one-day internationals, with nine of those victories coming in as wins, but the team struggled when she replaced Knight in two notable high-pressure situations, including the Commonwealth Games bronze medal match and West Indies’ disastrous T20 World Cup group stage defeat last year.

Given her importance as England’s best batter and one of their most experienced bowlers, Sciver-Brunt’s workload had sussed some concerns, but Edwards said she was confident she could relieve some of the strain and let her concentrate on the on-field issues.

Given the longevity of Knight’s tenure, there has been another criticism of England’s set-up, and Edwards vowed to fix it.

We are going to establish a leadership group, which may vary depending on the format and series, but it’s something we are really interested in.

“We need to make sure we are making sure we are planning for the future and giving players experience and voice.”

Knight’s representative, Edwards, also confirmed that she would not be a member of that leadership group, stating that she wanted the former skipper to concentrate on playing the game once more and refraining from just batting.

In a world without precedent, England’s Ashes capitulation brought off-field behavior and attitude into question, along with the subpar outcomes.

Although Edwards acknowledged that the social media strategy and “looking at our professional behaviors” would change, she added that she had already observed changes in her short time in the position.

There will be no right or wrong in it, even though it should be different and it should be. She said, “That’s how Nat and I are going to do it.”

The team has a certain way of doing things, but they have been great so far and open to everything we’ve discussed.

Abbey Clancy claims she was snubbed by ITV show after agreeing to join cast

Abbey Clancy, a former Strictly Come Dancing contestant, recently revealed on the most recent episode of the podcast she co-hosts with Peter Crouch that she had been approached for a role on ITV’s “G’Wed.”

Podcast host Abbey Clancy has shared that she was once approached by ITV to appear in one of its shows. She however teased recently that she was snubbed by the broadcaster after agreeing to take part in the project.

Abbey, 39, announced on the latest episode of the Therapy Crouch podcast that she had been approached to appear on G’Wed. The sitcom, which launched last year, follows a group of teenagers and is set in her home city of Liverpool. The BAFTA nominated comedy was brought up on the podcast, hosted by Abbey and her husband Peter Crouch, 44, amid a discussion about Scouse representation on TV. The BBC’s This City is Ours was referenced and then G’Wed.

After the ITV2 sitcom was mentioned whilst recording the episode, Abbey shared: “They asked me to be in that.” Then asked if she had declined the offer to appear on the show, she replied: “I said yeah but they never got back to me.”

The podcast’s creator, Peter and Abbey, were both seen laughing a few moments later. While a background producer said, “Fair enough, I guess. Then, Abbey made a joke about coming, lad. “Get in touch, will you”!

Her remarks come after G’Wed returned for its second season a short while ago. The critically acclaimed television series, which centers on the lives of Reece Duffy (played by Dylan Thomas-Smith) and Aimee Morris (Amber Harrison), was first aired in February of last year.

ITV released the second series in February of this year. Following the release of the first season, it was announced last year that the show would be renewed for two more seasons. Then, according to writer Danny Kenny, “It’s amazing and exciting that we get to do this again, and I can’t wait for series 2 and 3 next year.”

And Danny was praised in a statement that was made public at the time by Nana Hughes, the head of comedy on ITV. In light of the renewal news, Nana said, “It’s great to see that G’wed has found a home on ITVX, ITV1, and ITV2!”

We began to cry while reading “Danny’s” writing, then we actually cried tears the next, and then back to laughter. We can’t wait to welcome everyone back to Liverpool for a second and third series when G’wed returns in 2025 because the show’s enormously talented cast contributed so much charm and cheek to it.

G’Wed is among the nominees at this year’s BAFTA Television Awards, which will be held at the Southbank Centre’s Royal Festival Hall in London next Sunday. The event, broadcast by the BBC, is set to be hosted by Alan Cumming.

G ‘Wed is one of the nominees in the scripted comedy category. At the awards ceremony, Alma will face Not Normal, Brassic, and Ludwig for the award.

David Beckham begins 50th birthday celebrations with lavish bash as family reunite

As he treated his family to a lavish do at his Cotwolds home that turned into a wild night, football legend David Beckham has officially celebrated his 50th birthday in style.

David Beckham has kicked off his 50th birthday celebrations in the UK as he invited his family to a lavish bash at his £10m Cotswolds home. The football icon, who marks the milestone on Friday, has made sure he goes all out for the occasion.

He is making the most of his time with his nearest and dearest, having thrown a wild party at his country home. The Beckhams donned their best black-tie looks for the evening as they were treated to rides in supercars including a Porsche Penske. They made sure to party into the night, which ended up with guests jumping into the swimming pool while in their gowns and tuxedos. David and wife Victoria have been quiet on the night’s antics, yet their youngest son Cruz, 20, offered fans a glimpse into the do.

As they prepared to let loose, he and his girlfriend Jackie Apostel, 29, took a sweet photo wearing the same outfit. While Jackie wore a strappy red satin dress, the aspiring musician looked smart while sporting a red tux and red braces.

Louise Adams, Victoria’s identical younger sister, and the party’s hostess also shared family photos. She proudly posed with Tallulah, Finlay, and Liberty, three of her four children.

Her famous sister’s draped black dress made her look stunning. Meanwhile, Finlay displayed his wild antics as he paddled out of a pool of water while demonstrating his skills.

Although it is believed that David and Victoria’s other children were present when the festivities started, they were not photographed.

The family event comes after their eldest child Brooklyn confirmed he was back in the UK with his wife Nicola Peltz. There had been rumours he may not attend David’s celebrations amid a reported fallout with brother Romeo.

Louise, Victoria’s sister, and three of her children also attended.

Brooklyn and Nicola had skipped his dad’s party in Miami last month as he decided to mark his huge birthday with pals in the US. David is expected to bring his sons together at triple-Michelin starred restaurant Core in west London.

Following the numerous reported snubs, this will be the first time the family has been intimate in public. Romeo’s family reportedly had a devastating impact on the Beckham clan when they welcomed her as their new girlfriend, Kim Turnbull.

Unfortunately for Romeo, Brooklyn’s older brother, who was once extremely close to her, dated Rocco Ritchie, is also very close. Kim and Nicola are accused of not liking her and of snubbing family occurrences to show their emotions.

Speculation mounted once again when neither Brooklyn or Nicola publicly wished Victoria a happy 51st birthday. In another twist, neither Victoria or David, commented on Brooklyn and Nicola’s third wedding anniversary.

According to a source, David is “going all out” for his 50th birthday. It’s a true family affair, with Romeo, Cruz, Harper, his and Victoria’s parents included.

Another addition to Daily Mail’s list read, “While the location will be perfect and stunning, his family will be there with him and we’ll be having a wonderful time together.” However, things aren’t doing well right now. Everyone in their lives aspires that any problems will be resolved before David’s big day.

Littler wins record fifth Premier League night

With a 6-4 victory over Michael van Gerwen in Birmingham, Luke Littler, a teen, made history by becoming the first player to win five games in a Premier League season.

The 18-year-old, who won the youngest world darts championship after winning in January, will also be competing in the O2 Arena’s season-ending play-offs on May 29.

He had already made it to the final four weeks, but he had only managed four nights in the opening eight.

No player has won more than four nights since the 16-week league phase was introduced in 2022, with the exception of Littler, Luke Humphries, and Van Gerwen (2024), Jonny Clayton (2022), Gerwyn Price and Michael Smith (2023), and Gerwyn Price and Van Gerwen (2024).

Littler stated at the beginning of the evening that he needed a break before the final if he wanted to finish top of the league in order to reach the play-offs, and that he now has that goal in mind.

He improved as the evening progressed but needed victories in the final against Stephen Bunting and Nathan Aspinall in the last-second shootout.

Seven-time Premier League champion Van Gerwen broke in leg two after two stunning darts at bullseye, but the world number two missed two darts at tops in the opening leg.

However, Littler and Van Gerwen, who were in their second final of the year, regained the lead in leg six before breaking again in leg 10 to claim the victory and avoid a final-leg decider.

He was six from 13 at the checkouts, averaging 102.5 to Van Gerwen’s 94.31.

“I’m very happy,” he declared. It was anticipated that I would win the fifth nightly prize at some point, but it has only been a few weeks since I did so on a Thursday, Littler told Sky Sports.

“I’m nine points clear, so I’m very happy and confident that I’ll stay at number one.”

Humphries’ wait continues

Luke Humphries looks dejectedPA Media

Humphries, the world’s number one, failed to win a night in the first two weeks, despite having won two of the previous four.

Since then, he has lost in the final four times, but he has also lost in the final five times, most recently 6-5 to Gerwyn Price.

Although it was a scrappy affair at times, Humphries, the 2024 world champion and Premier League runner-up, still managed to score 107.46 on the first nine legs.

He did, however, struggle on the checkouts, allowing only five of his fifteen attempts to come out, and Humphries lost to Price once more after being defeated by the Welshman in the Liverpool final last week.

After falling to Littler in the quarter-finals 6-5, Bunting is still firmly rooted at the bottom of the table.

Littler averaged in the mid-’80s as he used some new equipment, leading the Liverpudlian 4-2.

However, the teenager made improvements as the game progressed and broke through leg eight before capturing the victory in the final shootout.

Defender, striker… winger? How ‘Harrydinho’ inspired Man Utd

Images courtesy of Getty

Harry Maguire is definitely a best player in the Europa League, in my opinion.

After the Manchester United defender’s dramatic 121st-minute winner against Lyon in the quarter-finals, Maguire created magic to help his team triumph 3-0 at Athletic Club in the first leg of their semi-final match.

Even Ronaldinho was compared to Maguire’s dribbling abilities and cross, which saw Casemiro lead the Premier League team in front.

After United made a significant step toward reaching the Europa League final, which will take place at the same San Mames stadium in Bilbao, the 32-year-old was referred to as “Harrydinho” on social media.

When Maguire went all-Ronaldinho to silence the home fans, the game was 29 minutes old.

United’s number five turned one way, stopped in front of him, and then turned the other way, before turning around again, passing his rival and receiving the cross.

Casemiro nods into the net after Manuel Ugarte flicked it on.

What a winger! Bruno Fernandes, the captain of Maguire’s side, increased United’s lead from the penalty spot before adding a third before half-time to give his side a respectable first-leg lead, “I don’t think he even knew he had that in his locker.

“Harry is now much more self-assured. His playing position is strengthening, and we hope he keeps getting better.

Former United defender Phil Jones said, “I didn’t know he had it in him,” in a statement released on 5 Live. Fair play, great ball in, and I never saw it during training, to be honest.

Former United captain Maguire’s former manager Ruben Amorim also received praise.

Harry has had difficult times in his life, according to the Portuguese. We must enjoy everything he does because it benefits the team.

What about Maguire’s role in that trickery, exactly?

When Alejandro Garna passed me the ball, it was nice to do some dribbling and put in a great cross, he said, “I found myself attacking the back post.”
