Gaza ‘hungriest place on Earth’, all its people at risk of famine, UN warns

The United Nations warns that Gaza is the “hungriest place on Earth” and that its entire population is in danger of starvation as Israeli forces force desperate Palestinians to flee their homes.

The UN on Friday demanded that Israel stop its deliberate hunger-stricken enclave and allow food to enter the besieged city. Its “most obstructed in recent history” was the UN’s statement on Friday.

According to Jens Laerke, a spokesperson for the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), “the aid operation that we have ready to roll is being put in an operational straitjacket that makes it one of the most obstructed aid operations, not only in the world today but in recent history.”

Less than 600 of the 900 aid trucks that were permitted to enter from the Israeli side of the Karem Abu Salem crossing, known as Kerem Shalom in Israel, were being offloaded in Gaza, he claimed, adding that less money had been taken for distribution.

“I don’t have any food, oil, or flour. I give my children a bag of filthy bread. For my children, I want to purchase a bag of flour. I’d like some food. A Palestinian told Al Jazeera, “I’m hungry.

Hani Mahmoud, a journalist from Gaza City, reported that there hasn’t been a drop in aid entering the Strip that has been permitted in the last few days.

People in Khan Younis and Rafah, the city’s central area, struggled daily to find food supplies, especially when it comes to flour and other basic necessities, he added.

Palestinians leaving empty-handed aid stations

Israel imposed a nearly three-month blockade on the enclave, which led to the resume of limited UN operations and pressure from Western governments and international humanitarian organizations.

Israel also pushed for the shadowy private aid provider, the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF), to provide essential food aid to Palestinians who were starving.

Working with GHF is not permitted by the UN and other aid organizations, which claim that its distribution model causes displacement of Palestinians and lacks neutrality.

However, UN spokesman Stephane Dujarric stated to reporters on Friday that while aid deliveries are “very, very little impact,” they are still getting “good” to those in need.

He claimed that Gaza’s catastrophic situation was the worst since the start of the conflict.

People like displaced Palestinian Layla al-Masri, who has been displaced, are leaving empty-handed because only three of the four distribution points have been set up to receive aid from the GHF.

“It is all lies what they are saying about their desire to feed the people of Gaza. They don’t give people anything to drink, she said.

Parents giving their kids water,

Another Palestinian who fled Gaza claimed that his family has no food. We don’t have anything at home, he said, “No flour, no food, no bread.”

“Whenever I go to get aid, I have a box in my hand and hundreds of people crowd over me.” I used to text UNRWA [UN agency for Palestinian refugees], and we would go get aid. There is nothing right now. You can get assistance if you are strong. If you don’t, you leave empty-handed, according to Qader Rabie.

UN agencies’ humanitarian affairs spokesperson Eri Kaneko also criticized the type of aid being provided by UN agencies in Gaza.

We are not permitted to bring in a single ready-to-eat meal, according to Israeli authorities. For bakeries, flour is the only food that is permitted. It wouldn’t constitute a complete diet for anyone, according to Kaneko, even if it were allowed in an unlimited amount, which it wasn’t.

Palestinians who received GHF aid claimed that the packages they received contained sugar, pasta, olive oil, flour, canned beans, and biscuits.

The UN’s special rapporteur on the right to food, Michael Fakhri, meanwhile, referred to the GHF as a “bait to corral people” that “violates every principle of international law.”

“This is aid being used to force people out of militarized areas,” according to the statement. Both the goal is to control the population and to humiliate people. He claimed that this is not intended to stop starvation.

According to Al Jazeera’s reporter from Deir el-Balah in Gaza, there isn’t much food entering the area because of the number of trucks entering and the amount of aid they are carrying.

Palestinians claim they haven’t really had any food because there haven’t been any regular distribution points, she said, adding that many are returning with their pots empty despite the trucks’ entry over the past few days.

James Martin mocked over four times a week habit sparked by personal struggle

James Martin, one of Britain’s best-known chefs, has been a host of TV cooking shows for over 20 years. He has since admitted that his weekly routine frequently makes him get slammed.

Celebrity chef James Martin, known for his culinary prowess and hosting ITV’s Saturday Morning, has been dealing with dyslexia, a form of neurodivergence. Despite the challenges, at 52, James has recently become more vocal about living with the condition and how he manages daily life.

James revealed his unique method of unwinding in a direct conversation with the Telegraph last year by mopping his lawn four times per week. In November, he told the newspaper that “people take the mick out of me because I might mow the lawn four times a week because I have a John Deere sit-down lawnmower with headlights.”

When bad weather interferes with his daily activities, he continued, “I get p***** off” if it’s been nonstop rain and I can’t cut the grass.

However, I believe that mowing makes me more comfortable. I can work a crazy day, but I’ll get home and enjoy my mower by midnight.

James further explained the therapeutic nature of gardening, especially for someone with OCD tendencies, which he suggests many chefs may have: “The thing is a garden keeps you busy, which is great if you have OCD – as most chefs probably do.”

He concluded by highlighting the advantages of multitasking for his philosophy: “You finish a task and it’s an accomplishment. Being present gives me time to think, and being dyslexic makes it easier for me to think when I’m not working.

James has previously opened up about his struggles with dyslexia. During a chat with Kaye Adams on his BBC Radio Scotland show, he admitted that despite his years of cooking and presenting, he still finds it challenging at times.

He said, “Weirdly, I can cook and talk at the same time, but presenting is still really challenging. Since I’m severely dyslexic, I find it difficult to read anything from an autocue. If I can cook and chat, I’ll feel at home.

Matt Baker, a former The One Show host, also has dyslexia, and James is not the only person who struggles with it. Matt revealed in an interview with OK! that his dyslexia makes him more interested in hands-on tasks.

He said, “I’m very practical because I’m dyslexic. Reading is not really what I enjoy doing. Painting and making things are my favorites. I’m not sure what it’s like to have dyslexia. I was asked to read aloud when I was younger, and I never felt more fear.

Despite this, 47-year-old Matt would not alter his neurodivergent status: “I wouldn’t alter anything.” You must think differently to be neurodivergent.

You keep telling yourself, “I’m ready for this,” You can, too. You can accomplish anything, says Dyslexia.

Mahomes to leave Olympic flag football to ‘the younger guys’

Reuters

Patrick Mahomes, the quarterback for the Kansas City Chiefs, has declared that he will not compete in flag football at the Los Angeles 2028 Olympics.

Owners of NFL teams made an agreement last week to allow NFL players to play in the Olympic debut of flag football.

Mahomes, 29, had previously stated that he “definitely wants to” play, but this week the two-time Most Valuable Player of the NFL announced that he would step down and work for “the younger guys.”

Shortly after the LA Games’ conclusion in July 2028, the three-time Super Bowl champion would turn 33.

Mahomes said: “I’ll probably leave that to the younger guys,” during the Chiefs’ off-season organized team activities (OTAs). By the time that time comes around, I’ll be a little older.

The possibility of a second “dream team,” similar to the US men’s basketball team from the 1992 Olympics, was made known by the vote last week.

NBA players were the first to compete at the Barcelona Olympics, and Team USA’s gold medalists are still regarded as one of the greatest teams ever.

Ten players will make up each of the six nations that will compete in flag football at LA 2028.

Prince Harry’s explosive move sparked ‘furious reaction’ from key royal who refused to see him

A new documentary claims that one member of the Royal Family was so angry with the Duke of Sussex that they refused to see him at all when Harry and Meghan dropped a bombshell.

It’s been over five years since Prince Harry and Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, announced their intention to step back as full-time working royals – and at the time, their decision sent shockwaves across the UK.

For the couple, things inside the monarchy had become untenable, and something needed to change – but for the rest of the Royal Family, their public announcement that they wanted to adopt a half-in, half-out approach to royal life presented a massive set of issues.

Meghan and Archie had been visiting Canada before their shock announcement, leaving Harry to attend what has been dubbed the Sandringham Summit to discuss their exit on his own.

Experts and commentators from a new Channel Five documentary, Megxit: Inside the Sandringham Summit, examine what actually transpired behind closed doors at the summit and what its long-term effects have been on the monarchy.

One expert revealed that there was allegedly one senior member of the House of Windsor who was left utterly “horrified” by Harry’s decision to step back: his grandfather, Prince Philip. Royal author Andrew Morton claimed in the new documentary, “Prince Philip is someone who doesn’t take fools gladly, and he was horrified that they had come to a situation where the Royal Family were deciding whether to split up or not.”

The late Duke of Edinburgh chose to leave Sandringham and meet with his grandson Harry, according to another expert, who explained how he felt so strongly. Emily Andrews, a journalist, claimed that “Philip was so upset that he wouldn’t even go there.” He claimed to have been unable to bring himself to see his grandson because he thought it was a grave dereliction of duty.

Whilst Prince Philip always demurred to the authority of his wife, the late Queen Elizabeth, when it came to matters of the crown, when it came to private matters, said to be “very much the head of the family “.

Prince Philip had a very close relationship with both Prince Harry and his elder brother Prince William – as well as the rest of his six other grandchildren – and he was called “brilliantly effective” at helping the two brothers when they tragically lost their mother in 1997.

The boys were present when they learned that Diana had passed away, according to author Tina Brown, who noted that Prince Philip, who had effectively lost his own mother at the age of 10 when she was imprisoned for three years in Switzerland, was brilliantly effective with his grandsons, offering them gruff tenderness and outdoor activities like stalking and hiking.

According to the Independent, Prince Philip reportedly reminded those organizing Diana’s funeral that “It’s about the boys, they’ve lost their mother” during the planning process. On the day of the funeral, he also offered to accompany them in the procession, saying, “I’ll walk if you walk.”

However, Prince Philip passed away the year after the Sandringham Summit and Harry’s decision to leave his royal life behind, just one month after the Sussexes sat down with Oprah Winfrey to give their explosive interview outlining their reasons for leaving.

A limited number of people attended Prince Harry’s grandfather’s funeral, which was held in the face of social restraints as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.

He described his grandfather as the monarch’s longest-serving consort, a decorated soldier, a prince, and a duke in a moving statement. But to me, like many of you who have lost a loved one or grandparent due to the agony of the past year, he was my grandpa: the master of barbecue, the legend of banter, and the cheeky “right ’til the end””.

Tom Fletcher reveals fans know ‘real’ version of McFly for one simple reason

Since 2003, McFly have been a staple in the music business, and Tom Fletcher thinks this has helped them in recent years.

Tom Fletcher and his bandmates “fight” because they act like brothers.

Tom Fletcher reveals that fans of McFly have always seen the “true” version of the band. The band’s members and the musician first gained notoriety in 2003, and they have since reached the top of the charts. However, those who follow the band are aware of this even though they don’t always get a fuller sense of what it’s like.

While the band may have a huge online following now, Tom, 39, Dougie Poynter, 37, Danny Jones, 39, and Harry Judd, 39, were on the rise before the likes of Bebo, Twitter, Facebook and Instagram became household names. Instead, fans of the band relied on meeting them at CD signings, TV interviews and magazine interviews to get to know them.

“We found a lot of our dedicated fans before social media,” Tom exclusively told the Mirror. He went on to add: “They got to know us before that was a thing, so they knew our personalities, and so I think it would have been strange if we were then presenting a different version of ourselves now that we had a phone with a camera on us all the time.

“I suppose the transition to social media was simple. “Tom explained that the first time the band ever did a live stream for fans, they had a man carrying a hardwired camera around them on tour.

Although he acknowledges it’s a balance, Tom does reveal some insight into his family life with his wife, Giovanna, 40, and their sons, Buzz, 11, Buddy, and Max. He said that finding the balance is really important because this has evolved over time. He continued:” There was a time when I feel like people were not presenting their true selves.

“I believe that more people are doing that right now, or maybe it’s just the people I follow. That’s the beauty of social media: my version of it is completely different from someone else’s. For me, it was really important to be as authentic as I could be and show people.

Knowing the details I’m sharing is a true reflection of who I am and who we are as a family or who we are as a band, but it’s finding the balance between allowing people to access my life and preserving some sort of privacy. It’s really important. “

The band has 19 Top 10s, 21 Top 40s, two Top 1 albums, and nine Top 40 albums all in one album. But how does he handle such high success standards? It just became our lives, “he said, before adding:” McFly is just being normal for us – that’s our default mode. We all work on different things, and McFly is where I write musicals and children’s books.

It changed our lives, and I can’t imagine living in a world without it. “That’s the default mode of who we are. The guys, we’re like brothers. We fight, as is the family. We fight like brothers and we share a brotherly love for one another. It’s not just children’s books and music for McFly that Tom has written, though, he’s also the lyricist behind the upcoming Paddington The Musical, which premieres at The Savoy Theatre in November.

He described the transition as “a very slow, long transition” from writing pop-rock songs. He added: “I grew up at theatre school, I was in West End musicals from the age of nine. Before the band, that’s how I lived my life, and I’ve spent more than ten years writing musical scores for my books.

“I believe all of these things have been gearing up for me, ready to tackle the difficult task of writing Paddington, which is undoubtedly a different kind of responsibility. Everything I’ve ever worked on has been like my own project and my own characters, and I’ve only got myself to kind of disappoint.

“Whereas with Paddington, everybody loves Paddington. Everybody knows him all around the world. So suddenly feeling that I am responsible for that. Yes, definitely had moments of feeling overwhelmed, but also just what an honour. Of all of the songwriters on this planet who would have lept to have written this musical, it was my phone that rang and they asked me, I just can’t believe, I still can’t believe it.”

Tom expressed his desire for the lyrics to sound justice to the audience. However, he and his family sat down to watch Paddington 2 the night before he received the call during the first coronavirus lockdown, which was a spooky turn of events. “It felt like stars were aligned”, he said. He continued, “My kids are incredibly excited, but I’ve also found that playing all the songs on them is very helpful.”

Buzz currently appears in Starlight Express and plays musical theater. Tom revealed that for songs he needs vocals from children on, his children have recorded the demo tracks he needed. He laughed as his wife and I both enjoyed having our families who enjoy musical theater.

Tom acknowledges that his three children “gave him more purpose.” He said: “The biggest change is becoming a parent, before that, my whole life revolved around my band and work. Then, suddenly, your children are the people who have your life’s center of gravity. It gives you more motivation to pursue your interests and accomplish your goals. You have a different motivation to it and the hardest thing is saying ‘ No. ‘

I believe that’s the most important thing I’ve learned about myself because, unfortunately, I can’t do everything I want to do. Tom did point out that having an “amazing problem” is a “very lucky person” for the opportunities he receives.

He said, “I feel very lucky that the stars are aligned and I was in the right place at the right time.” However, Tom couldn’t refuse to work on a project by joining forces with Yoplait to discuss the current issue of childhood calcium and vitamin D deficiency.

” As a dad, I can really relate to what these stats have shown, “Tom said. Tom concluded, “There is a lot of confusion about what we should be feeding our kids.” Knowing whether or not information is accurate or not, he continued, “There’s so much information out there, whether that’s on social media.”

“I think that is one of the things that has left to seeing an increase in kids that are deficient in calcium and vitamin D. Now being able to put my children’s author hat on and rework the Humpty Dumpty nursery rhyme, hopefully to raise awareness for what I think is a fun way of highlighting a very serious issue.

Making one or two small adjustments is relatively simple, such as replacing one or more sugary snacks with a yoghurt that is rich in calcium and vitamin D. Hopefully, this will be something that parents can read the information from Yoplait and get all the information on the stats. “

What, however, has he taken away as the most important thing? Knowing where I’m getting my information, he said. If parents what to go to the Yoplait website, they’ll know that’s the best place to get this information and see all of the stats from there. However, we are all experiencing the same things as parents. That same confusion is happening to me. Kids will tell you what they want to eat as well, it’s hard knowing what you want to give your kids, but your kids are going to want to eat it as well. Thankfully, it’s not difficult to give them a yoghurt at my house.

In partnership with Yoplait, the brand behind Petits Filous and Frubes, children’s author and musician Tom Fletcher tackles childhood calcium and vitamin D deficiency, starting with a bold new take on Humpty Dumpty.
