England and France’s 43-42 victory over France at Allianz Stadium on Saturday was the highlight of a thrilling battle for the Women’s Six Nations title.

The victory for John Mitchell’s side was enough for them to win their seventh Grand Slam in a row.

The contest had the necessary finale, but it also managed to remain formulaic.

With the Grand Slam in hand, France and England entered the final round for the fourth time in a row.

The winner may live up to the hype, with three of those four games coming in within a score, but the gap between the rest of the teams is still significant.

Other than the Red Roses or Les Bleues, there hasn’t been a tournament winner since Ireland won it ten years ago.

success with previous adjustments

In the final round of the tournament, England and France were guaranteed to face off in 2022 due to a change in the fixture list.

This contrasts to France’s men’s Six Nations, which takes place every year on a different fixture schedule.

By preventing the likely title decider, the goal was to maintain Grand Slam interest.

The final games between Ireland, Scotland, Italy, and Wales, which they are competing for spots, have been successful, and they are also getting more interesting.

However, the competitiveness of their games against the top two is becoming more and more troubling.

France, the last nation to defeat England in the Six Nations in 2018, has had a smaller advantage than that of the other teams, but they have still won in each of their previous four championships.

England used 34 players this campaign, but they only managed 33 tries before the Grand Slam decider, which was consistently rotated.

England awarded 28 full-time professional contracts in 2019 and that level of investment left the other countries behind, contributing to the quality gap.

Wales began distributing contracts at the beginning of 2022, followed by Ireland in August of that year, and Scotland made their professional plans public at the end of that year.

Italy announced that 22 professional contracts had been awarded to their players before the 2023 Six Nations.

Scotland’s victory over Ireland on Saturday marked the end of their campaign. Italy won the matchup in France, showing signs of improvement, and came out on top.

Wales experienced a series of losses under new head coach Sean Lynn’s Wooden Spoon, but the Welsh Rugby Union (WRU) announced a major change to its top women’s teams to increase the pipeline and breadth of talent.

Scotland head coach Bryan Easson responded to a question on the BBC’s Rugby Union Weekly, “It will take time, but I sincerely believe someone else will eventually win it.”

His team suffered severe defeats against England and France, both of whom have much larger player pools as a result of domestic league investment, with the Premiership Women’s Rugby League growing in strength.

Easson remarked, “The gap will get bigger.” However, it will take a little longer than everyone anticipates in terms of professionalism.

Finals day of the two-tier system and, triple-header

Sara Orchard, a spokesperson for BBC Sport, suggested a two-tier system where teams are ranked before the championship in order to prevent too many one-sided scorelines.

Former England fly-half Katy Daley-McLean, who lost titles to France and Ireland while playing in her youth, supported the idea, with the 2014 World Cup winner arguing that the competition must be “brave” in trying something new.

The RFU would “take any proposals into consideration,” according to Alex Teasdale, the women’s game director for the Rugby Football Union, to BBC2.

She said, “I think Six Nations as a tournament that spans men’s and women’s history is very special and has that kind of history background.

It would likely take a lot to alter that, they say. However, look, it’s a women’s game, and we want to play the game’s best and remain agile.

Due to Covid restrictions, the proposed idea would have a format similar to the 2021 Six Nations, which was spit into two pools.

The top-ranked team would play both home and away games against teams in the second and third places, with the second pool’s structure being followed by the third-to-sixth-place team.

The top team in pool one will face the second team in their group to claim the Six Nations title, followed by play-offs.

For a place in the top group of the following year, the team that placed third in pool one would face the team that placed third in pool two, and the team that placed third will face off against the team that finished third.

On a triple-header finals day, all those games would take place at the same location, which is rotated around a different country every year.

Former Wales captain Philippa Tuttiett stated on BBC Radio 5 Live that “being the women’s version of the Six Nations means you don’t have to do it the same as the men.”

“I have to agree that the changes are logical, but I don’t like them.”

Oprah Winfrey, Meghan Markle’s “mentor and friend,” gave her business advice as she was considering launching her lifestyle brand, according to Meghan Markle. The Duchess of Sussex revealed this in the most recent episode of Confessions of a Female Founder, in which she chats with Jamie Kern Lima, co-founder of IT Cosmetics.

Meghan describes how chat show host Oprah, who she gave a dazzling interview to in 2021, told her to “encapsulate your essence” when she was deciding whether to launch her brand As Ever, which has so far sold fruit spreads, honey, and tea, and how she plans to launch their business.

I just liked making jam at first, Meghan says. I merely enjoyed making preserves and jam. And it changed from the initials “OK, I’m gonna share this jam with a lot of friends and family” to “People really like it and bring me joy.” so that I can spread it more widely.

I was afraid of failing or losing my opinion at first, so I thought, “I’ll just do small batch jam from home.” And I had to take a step back and consider what I was doing, asking, “Am I playing small because I want to play small?” Or am I just playing small out of fear? “

And she continued, “Oprah, who I know as a mentor and friend to you, was the one who said, “There are tons of things you could put your name on. However, once you figure out how to encapsulate your essence, you’ll know’, depending on how you like to appear to others.

After creating products for people with rosacea and hyperpigmentation, Jamie, Meghan’s guest this week, established her business IT Cosmetics in 2008. She sold the company to L’Oreal under a billion-dollar deal, but she claims to have been turned down for “three years straight” because of her unsuccessful attempts to sell her goods in stores.

Meghan also reveals how, due to her freckles, she was told not to audition for beauty roles when she was an actress. When I was an actor auditioning for commercials, Meghan says, “That would have been.” And I can recall that my commercial agent refused to work with me because of my freckles in the beauty and skincare ads.

She praised Jamie for using skin-to-nes and women of all ages as her models, adding, “That was such new thinking then. That was so unheard of when you brought it to market. It might now seem more typical. Meghan and her husband have a new “honeymoon” feeling since they have “a little breathing space” after returning from their royal duties, according to the new podcast, which was released the day after Meghan made her appearance on Jamie’s show.

Meghan claimed that the couple struggled to fully enjoy one another’s company at the beginning of their relationship because the media quickly focused on them in “the trenches.” Harry and the King and the Prince of Wales had strained relations before the pair started dating in 2016 and got married in 2018. They initially took on royal duties before deciding to step down in their current roles in 2020.

She said, “You have to imagine that everyone has, say, butterflies at first. Then, together, we immediately entered the trenches. Yes, almost immediately after six months of dating. So now, seven years later, when you have a little bit of breathing room, you can just enjoy each other in a completely new way, which is why I think it’s more of a honeymoon for us now. The duchess praised her husband’s “safety” while praising the family.

Meghan revealed that she emails her children Archie and Lilibet to secret email addresses she has set up for them to read as they get older, and that she also became emotional when she mentioned Archie and Lilibet.

“At night before going to bed, I email them, “Here’s your report card from today,” or, oh my gosh, wasn’t that the funniest thing this morning? Or you two are seen having breakfast in this picture, or playing. The things you won’t be able to frame, the things you won’t be able to put pen to paper in a journal, but which they will eventually see at some point in their lives, perhaps when they’re 16 or 18?

Here’s an email I’ve been keeping for you, I’ll say. I wanted to tell you how much I love you and how proud I am of you in every way that comes to mind.

EastEnders’ Jags Panesar star shares adorable first snap of newborn as he welcomes baby

A former EastEnders star has given birth to a child. Amar Adatia, a famous actor who appeared in Jags Panesar on the BBC One soap opera, announced on social media that he and his wife have welcomed a second child. He and his wife welcomed their first child in December of this year, but he has rarely provided fans with information about his private life.

He and his wife were expecting, but he and his wife did not make the announcement until Monday night when he shared a picture of their son, who was wearing a sweet baby grow. He continued, “Welcome to the world Arella Adatia,” with “Full Heart.”

After confirming the news, the actor received numerous congratulations messages. Big Brother celebrity Jess Impiazzi yelled out, “Congrats you guys,” along with five red heart emojis. Along with a white heart, Rukku Nahar’s EastEnders co-star, who played Habiba Ahmed, added: “Congratulations.”

Amar Adatia welcomed a second child.

Congratulations to you all, one fan gushed. I’m hoping for good health for Mummy. We all have a lot of love to share. “Welcome to the world, precious little one,” added a second. While a third drew the phrase “Such a lovely name, congratulations.”

Amar, 39, was a guest on the BBC programme between October 2019 and October 2020 when his mother Suki sent him to prison. Despite the fact that her other son Vinny was the victim of the attack, she had framed Jags for assaulting Martin Fowler.

Suki claimed that Jags was wearing his bloodied jeans the day Martin was assaulted, and that she was angry with him because of his relationship with Habiba.

Fans raged that Suki could betray her son in such a way after he was eventually carted off in a police car and imprisoned. However, it was later revealed that Jags had passed away in prison, leaving the Panesar family heartbroken.

Amar has only played two roles since leaving the soap, including Jack 2 in Override and a football supporter in The Devil Went Down To Islington, and he has kept a relatively low profile. However, he previously acknowledged that his work had been slowed by the coronavirus pandemic.

Amar previously stated to Digital Spy that he had held back on making his newest film because it was difficult to promote it while filming simultaneously and because the pandemic had caused the timing to be pushed back.

He stated when he left EastEnders that he had always known that he would only be a part of the show for a certain amount of time. I had just finished shooting a movie and had made commitments to promote it, but the pandemic struck and it was understandably put off.

He has appeared in films like Doctors, Day of the Falcon, Four Hours, The Tower, and the short film UK Residents Only, aside from EastEnders.

Four dead after car crashes into after-school camp in US state of Illinois

Authorities in a village outside of Chicago, the United States, reported that four children were killed when a car struck an after-school camp.

According to a statement released on Monday, police in Chatham, Illinois, said the deceased, who was between the ages of four and 18, were killed when the vehicle struck the east side of the YNOT After School Camp building.

Before moving on through the building, the vehicle struck several people outside of it. Before exiting through the west wall of the structure, the vehicle also struck several people inside [the] building, according to police.

According to the police, “a number of additional people have been transported by ambulance to nearby hospitals, and one by a life-flight helicopter.”

According to police, the vehicle’s driver and sole occupant, who was not hurt, was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Authorities did not specify whether they believed the collision was an accident or an intentional one.

JB Pritzker, the governor of Illinois, described the incident as “horrifying” and “deeply saddened” by him.

In a statement posted on X, Pritzker said, “Our community lost a group of bright and innocent young people with their entire lives ahead of them.”

“Parents said goodbye to their kids this morning, not realizing it would be their last.” No parent should have to go through the unimaginable grief these families are going through, and I feel so strongly for them.

The latest incident in a line of recent ones involved people driving into groups of people is the crash.

An SUV sped down a busy street on Saturday during a Vancouver, Canada, Filipino heritage festival, killing 11 people and injuring 32 others.

According to the prosecution, Kai-Ji Adam Lo, a 30-year-old resident of Vancouver, has been charged with eight counts of second-degree murder related to the incident.

When a man ploughed his pick-up truck into a crowd celebrating New Year’s Eve in the US city of New Orleans on January 1, 14 people died.

Grand Slam winner Purcell accepts 18-month anti-doping breach ban

Australian Max Purcell, the two-time Grand Slam doubles champion, has accepted an 18-month ban for breaking anti-doping regulations, which he claimed had seriously impacted my quality of life.

Purcell admitted to receiving “a prohibited method” by receiving “over 500ml” of vitamins in intravenous infusions on December 16 and 20, as required by the provisional suspension in December 2024.

The 27-year-old, who won major titles at Wimbledon in 2022 and the US Open in 2024, did not test positive for a substance that was prohibited.

The International Tennis Integrity Agency (ITIA) stated that “the limit under the World Anti-Doping Code and TADP is 100ml in a 12-hour period.”

Purcell acknowledged the breaches following a thorough investigation by the ITIA, which included gathering evidence and conducting interviews with the player, according to a statement.

The player’s full cooperation and sharing of information with the ITIA resulted in a 25% reduction in sanction.

After considering the amount of time he has already served, Purcell’s ban will come to an end on June 11, 2026.

In a social media post, Purcell wrote that he is “grateful this is finally over for me” and that I can move on with my life.

He continued, “This case has been going on for months, seriously affecting my quality of life.

“From refusing to be by myself, to being unable to sleep and eat properly, to becoming anxious and anxious, which I still battle daily.

Without the thought of the case and the limitless possibilities of what punishment I would receive, I couldn’t sit and enjoy anything.

“I only worked with the ITIA with co-operation.”

Purcell will forfeit all results and prize money received between the time of his initial anti-doping rule violation, which occurred on December 16, 2023, and his first subsequent negative doping control sample, which was provided on February 3, 2024.

The anti-doping regulations are much more expansive than that, according to ITIA CEO Karen Moorhouse, demonstrating that in this case, a player does not test positive for a prohibited substance.

It also demonstrates how the ITIA evaluates information from a variety of sources with the overarching goal of ensuring that everyone is protected by tennis anti-doping regulations.

Iga Swiatek, a five-time women’s singles Grand Slam champion, was given a one-month ban after testing positive for a banned substance, in what is the most recent anti-doping controversy in tennis.

Jannik Sinner, the world’s top male player, agreed to a three-month ban from tennis after settling with the World Anti-Doping Agency after his two positive drug tests in the last year.
