We’re all in favor of finding creative and affordable ways to keep warm without having to turn on the heating, which is why heated blankets have changed the game. You just need to plug it in and throw it over your head to keep warm without spending a lot of money on heating, which is typically pennies.
If you’re after one that comes highly recommended, Zara McDermott has shared that she can’t live without the CURECURE Electric Heated Blanket Throw, which costs £39.99 on Amazon. After posting a snap of it on Instagram, Zara wrote: “This electric blanket is ‘ the best thing I’ve ever used in my life” before adding it was: “The best value one I could find on Amazon”.

The $40 electric blanket has a soft ribbed flannel on one side and a fluffy sherpa material on the other, making it thick and warm enough to keep you warm even when you don’t turn it on. You’ll stay warm and comfortable long after turning it off thanks to the thick material.
With heated wires running the length of the blanket to ensure you’re warm from top to toe, you have six different temperature settings, from 30°C to 45°C. A timer option that can be set for anything from one to ten hours is included with the CURECURE Electric Heated Blanket.
This heated blanket measures 180 cm by 130 cm, which is a good size to share with someone else, despite the fact that most blankets are typically sized for just one person. Additionally, it comes with an extra-long power cord so you can use it to move it around the room, whether you want it to be draped over you in bed or wrapped around you while you work.
Customers on Amazon have also praised the effectiveness of the color, which is khaki brown, or gray/green. One wrote: “It is nice and soft. I like the length and width. Can just be used as a blanket”.

Whilst another agreed: “This is a lovely electric blanket. Simple to use. Without using the heat, the blanket’s thickness can be used. It quickly warms up, staying cosy and warm without getting too hot. It’s a perfect length for a full body, and my son absolutely adores it. You could place two people under it, if you wanted. Really good price. Worth the money”.
One shopper had less success, writing: “Bought this for my mum, she was over the moon with it, delivered to her door in matter of hours, simple for her to use, toasty and warm within seconds. She also enjoys color. It started promising but quickly returned as it was useless after one day when it stopped heating up and only started to warm up in small patches.
Another person praised it, saying that the cable was good length and the blanket was lovely and the blanket heated up quickly. Very user-friendly and accurate. When not plugged in, the color is acceptable and warm enough.
Elsewhere, Boots has currently reduced the Dreamland Intelliheat Warming Throw from £69.99 to £49.99. It has six different temperature settings, a one, three, or nine-hour shut off timer, and runs for one hour one per hour.
The Fleece Electric Throw, available in both taupe brown and charcoal grey, is also available from Dunelm for £32. There are also six different heat levels, and it’s fully machine washable.
