Wynne Evans’ decision to leave the Live Tour after making offensive sexual remarks to his co-stars has divided Strictly Come Dancing fans.
The GoCompare singer, 53, faced severe criticism after a video of him making vile sexual remarks to his co-star was released shortly after the tour started in Birmingham. He apologized for the comment, but he has since been canceled from the live performance.
When Janette Manrara, the tour’s host, approached Evans, she was caught making an inappropriate sexual remark. He sang out: “Go Compare”, before adding: “Not too close to Jamie]Borthwick]”. Then, in reference to a lewd sexual act, he made the incredibly offensive term “spit roast.”
Evans received criticism for touching his professional dance partner Katya Jones inappropriately on television during the BBC competition. Amid backlash, the pair claimed it was an “inside joke” and Katya defended Evans.

Evans agreed to “take some time out” from his radio show and the Strictly Come Dancing live tour on Tuesday night and confirmed the axe in order to prioritize my well-being. He said in a statement: “I’ve agreed with the BBC that I’ll take some time out from my radio show and the Strictly Live tour, as well as my other public commitments, to prioritise my wellbeing.
” I am deeply sorry for the pain my inappropriate actions have caused, and plan to take this time for self-reflection. I’m sorry to those who won’t be able to see the remaining performances, and I’m appreciative of my fellow tour members’ continued support.
Evans’ removal from the live tour has received widespread support from Strictly Come Dancing fans, but others claim that the Welsh star was unfairly dismissed as a result of his comments. According to one person, “the video of Evans making the offensive comment should never have been broadcast on social media.” The BBC should have handled what ought to have remained a private conversation. The BBC effectively tapped his mobile phone, unfairly dismissing him.

Another phrase was repeated, “Wynne Evans is not my favorite, but it seems like there have been pitchforks out for him for a while.” In real life, everyone makes these kinds of jokes. I don’t think it’s fair his career is been damaged. “However, another X user argued:” People make these jokes around their friends who they’re comfortable with – behind closed doors. He’s done this in front of the whole nation, trying and failing to be funny. In front of a whole room or people, and the nation, there is no need to degrade a woman in that manner.
The BBC revealed that they had informed Evans about his behavior before he was ultimately terminated following the incident while on tour. We were not previously informed of the remark, and we did not receive any complaints, according to a Strictly Live Tour and BBC Studios spokesperson. We have made it very clear to Wynne that we will not tolerate such conduct on the tour.
