We’ve found a perfect £30 alternative to Molly-Mae’s £6k burgundy woven Bottega bag

Fans speculated about what Molly-Mae Hague might have purchased with such a large shopping bag after posting a picture of herself carrying a huge Bottega Veneta carrier bag around a few weeks ago. Not long after, Molly-Mae revealed its contents – a brand new burgundy Andiamo Leather Top-Handle Bag, which retails for £6090.

We were thrilled when we discovered a great alternative at a fraction of the cost because the £6k bag is far over budget for the majority of us. The River Island Woven Slouch Tote Bag originally cost £46, which is already a significant discount over Molly-Mae’s designer bag, but it’s now available for £30, which adds even more money.

Fans were quick to praise Molly-Mae’s new purchase on Instagram, with one saying: “Love your new bag” whilst another added: “Where’s the bag from?! I’ve been searching for a big bag for my daily needs because “all of us girls carry” means “lots of things.”

However, we believe they’ll enjoy the River Island alternative, which uses fake leather instead of real leather and has the same oversized design and woven design. Its carry-friendly and practical strap and popper fastening are included.

It also has almost exactly the same roomy measurements as Molly-Mae’s Bottega bag, measuring 37cm high, 37.5cm wide and 11cm deep. This gives you plenty of room for all your essentials, as well as making it handy as an office bag or a carry-on bag for travelling.

Although it doesn’t have the same gold chain detail across the front, it does have some subtle gold hardware details, such as a gold ring detail in the strap, which help give it a more elevated, expensive look. Currently you can’t get it in the same burgundy shade as Molly-Mae’s Bottega bag, but you can choose from either black or white colourways, both of which are timeless additions to your wardrobe.

Although it doesn’t have the same boxy, oversize design as Molly-Mae’s Andiamo Bottega bag, it does bear a striking resemblance to another of her bags from the designer, which has a more slouchy, rounded design with a knotted shoulder. If you frequently find that a clutch won’t hold everything you need, it’s also a great option for a slightly bigger evening bag.
