Finding the scent that makes you feel amazing can be challenging because there are currently so many options. But if there’s one brand currently dominating our fragrance radar — and every influencer’s vanity — it’s Kayali.

The female-founded perfume brand, launched in 2018 by Mona Kattan as the fragrance arm of Huda Beauty, has built a cult following for its modern, playful and downright addictive scents. If you haven’t yet experienced them, think sweet marshmallows, creamy vanilla and pistachio-filled desserts — fragrances that smell good enough to eat, basically.

Now, Kayali has expanded into body mists, offering a lighter, more wearable take on three of its best-loved perfumes: vanilla, pistachio, and cherry. Naturally, the Mirror beauty team had to test these $39 shits to see if they lived up to the hype.

Lauren on Kayali’s Vanilla 28 Spray

Every time Lauren leaves the house, the shopping writer (Lauren Codling) makes a point of using Kayali’s new vanilla spray.

Despite hearing endless hype about Kayali’s viral perfumes, I’ll admit — this is my first venture into the brand. When I learned about the launch of the Vanilla 28 body mist, I knew it was time to get started because I’ve always been fascinated by the sweet, dessert-like scents that seem to have taken over TikTok.

From the first spritz, it’s pure dessert bliss, with buttery vanilla and almond notes creating a comforting, warm aroma. However, what surprised me most was how balanced it felt — sweet but not overpowering. Although I tend to prefer rich, deep fragrances over purely sugary ones, I was initially skeptical because of how wearable and sophisticated this is rather than sick.

How simple it is to layer makes this mist one of my favorites. I love mixing my perfumes, and I’ve found the Vanilla 28 pairs beautifully with Beauty Pie’s Le Smash Santal, a complex blend of tonka bean and sandalwood. Ideal for day-to-night wear, the combination creates a warm, woody vanilla mix that feels cozy and elevated.

The scent, which is lighter than a traditional perfume, still lingers on my clothes and scarf throughout the day (and afterward) despite how long it lasts. One last spritz before I leave the house ensures that I smell delicious for hours. It has become my go-to finishing touch before I leave.

Tiffany on Kayali’s Yum Pistachio Gelato Spray

pistachio body spray
The Yum Pistachio body spray is a favorite of Tiffany’s shopping.

It’s not uncommon for me to find a perfume that is food-inspired and that isn’t new enough to purchase. However, to all of my friends who know me, I am a huge fan of pistachios and their gelato flavor. The scent of Kayali’s new Yum Pistachio Gelato All Over Body Spray is this.

The body spray is ideal for every situation, whether you’re starting your day, applying it after working out, or needing to smell good on a special occasion. This aluminum has a long-lasting scent. Other than hints of pistachio, it delivers notes of bergamot, sweet rum, hazelnut, cotton cream, whipped cream and marshmallow.

The spray has a weak nozzle, but overall, I think this is a good product. It’ll be interesting to see if the company develops a mini-size in the future for travel.

For something similar, Sol de Janeiro’s classic Cheirosa 62 Hair &amp, Body Mist is now reduced to £20.40 on Amazon. The Brazilian-inspired mist has pistachio, vanilla and salted caramel notes, delivering a full burst of sweet flavours for a tropical scent.

Melisha on Kayali’s Lovefest Burning Cherry 48 Spray

Kayali Lovefest Burning Cherry Body Spray
The Lovefest Burning Cherry spray is kept in Melisha Kaur’s tote bag (Daily Mirror/Melisha Kaur).

Cherry perfumes really started to take off last year, and the seductive scent is still popular today. Smokey and seductive, Kayali’s Lovefest Burning Cherry 48 was what led me to ditch the much-pricier Tom Ford Lost Cherry – it’s now my go-to.

When I learned that the brand had a body spray version, it was soothing to my ears. This new mist delivers the warm, spicy notes of its namesake, as well as hints of raspberry, praline and jasmine.

My favorite sultry scent is softly layered in the body spray, making it ideal to pair with another fragrance or wear alone. Not only does it come in a generous 125ml bottle, but it means you can save £34 compared to buying the Eau de Parfum, which costs £73 for 50ml.

For $ 39, purchase the Kayali spray.
