The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has stated his group’s willingness for reconciliation.
Speaking during the 106th NEC meeting of the Mohammed Abdulrahman-led PDP in Abuja, the former Rivers State governor listed conditions to achieve a meaningful and lasting peace in the party.
He said before reconciliation can be achieved, the Tanimu Turaki-led PDP, as well as his own side, will meet together to bring terms of agreement with which both sides will agree.
He further stated that these agreements will not include the postponement of the planned PDP convention scheduled for March 29th and 30th, nor should they include the formation of a new caretaker committee for the party.
“Don’t reach out to me personally; if you want reconciliation, let the other team come, while our team will come as well,” Wike said.
“When you are coming for reconciliation, come with your proposal and terms. That is how you people used me the last time; I will not allow a repeat of it. I don’t want anyone who will try to use me to launch an attack.”

Speaking further, the minister commented on the just-concluded FCT Area Council election, stating that if the PDP were in order, the party would not have performed poorly.
On the Court of Appeal judgement on Monday, the minister said that the party is already bouncing back, and those who think that the party will not have candidates at the state level are only deceiving themselves.
On February 12, the Court of Appeal heard the consolidated cases on the PDP leadership crisis and delivered its judgements on Monday.
The appellate court, led by Justice Mohammed Danjuma, affirmed the decision of the Federal High Court in Abuja, which held that the processes leading to the PDP National Convention backed by the governors and held in Ibadan, Oyo State, on November 15 and 16, violated the Electoral Act, the Constitution of Nigeria, and the party’s constitution.
