Vonn secures first podium since comeback aged 40

Lindsey Vonn, who finished second in the super-G at the World Cup Finals in Sun Valley, Idaho, secured her first podium finish since making her comeback at the age of 40.
Lara Gut-Behrami, Switzerland’s record-sixth super-G champion, finished 1.29 seconds behind her.
American Vonn retired in February 2019, but she announced she would return to the sport after recovering from successful knee surgery in April.
She competed again in December’s FIS Fall Festival in Copper Mountain, Colorado.
Federica Brignone, Italy’s top performer at the time, finished third overall, up five points going into the competition.
Vonn made her World Cup debut at the age of 16 in 2000, where she won 137 World Cup podiums and 82 World Cup victories, along with 20 World Cup victories and four overall Crystal Globes.
