Villa sign Asensio and Disasi on loan

Axel Disasio and Marco Asensio have been signed on loan until the end of the season from Chelsea.
Marcus Rashford, Donyell Malen, and Andres Garcia join Villa Park as summer signings during the transfer window.
Although Villa has the right to make the move permanent, it is reported that it will pay Asensio’s wages, who has already won three Champions League titles.
There is no purchase option, but they will have to pay a £5 million loan to Disasi.
Jhon Duran, a striker from Colombia, was sold to Saudi Pro League side Al-Nassr for about £71 million, and Diego Carlos, a centre-back, was signed by Villa for about £8.45 million.
Samuel Iling-Junior, 21, a 21-year-old winger, was later loaned to Middlesbrough for the rest of the season earlier on Monday.
Villa completed the loan signing of Manchester United forward Rashford, 27 – which includes an option to buy for £40m – on Sunday.
Asensio bolsters attack
Since leaving Real Madrid in the summer of 2023, Asensio has seven goals in 47 appearances for PSG.
The 29-year-old helped the club win the French title last season, but this term he has made just eight league starts.
Additionally, he was a member of Spain’s 2023 World Cup winning team.
After conceding 2-0 to Wolves on Saturday, Villa boss Unai Emery said his team needed new players. This leaves Villa eighth in the Premier League.
“Unai is a coach that I’ve known for a while”, Asensio told Villa’s club website.
“He’s had a great career, he’s a top coach, he’s been key in me being able to come here because of his idea of how he wants to play football.
He’s a really important person for why I’m here right now, and I absolutely adore it.
Disasi reduces the number of injuries.
Disasi appeared to be heading to north London, but Villa won the deal after it was finished late on Monday night, beating Tottenham.
The 26-year-old is reportedly preferring to join Villa, who are eighth in the Premier League and have qualified for the Champions League’s last 16.
Following the sale of Carlos to Fenerbahce, Disasi will give Emery a much-needed option in the center of defence.
Due to foot and knee injuries, center-backs Pau Torres and Tyrone Mings have been replaced, making substitute defender Boubacar Kamara.
Because of his cup-tied status, Disasi won’t face Tottenham on Sunday.
Disasi – a transfer deadline day rollercoaster
By Nizaar Kinsella
Disasi is the winter saga that many didn’t realise they needed.
The defender initially wished to stay and fight for his place, as reported on BBC Sport earlier this month, but was assured in vain that leaving Chelsea would be preferable.
On deadline, both Villa and Tottenham popped up as potential suitors, but Spurs quickly rejected Villa as a possible replacement after deciding against them.
Then, seemingly out of the blue, his agents allegedly persuaded Disasi that Spurs was a better choice, but Villa ultimately lost.
