A tall, quick, skilful player who wears the number 14 on his back and is devastating in front of goal.
Thierry Henry, the legendary player at Arsenal, is reminiscent of that description, but Alexander Isak, the Newcastle striker, is also a victim.
The man who has long-standing interest from Mikel Arteta scored his 16th and 17th Premier League goals of the season on a day when Gunners striker Kai Havertz wasted chances in their 1-0 victory over Wolves.
Isak once again proved to be Newcastle’s talisman, inspiring their 3-1 comeback win at Southampton.
“Alexander Isak is giving me little vibes of Thierry Henry, to be honest”, said Nedum Onuoha on BBC Sport’s Final Score.
“He’s looking so sharp right now.
It seems like the simplest thing to do because those two goals came in at the top.
“The guy is on fire, every time the ball goes to his feet, you’re expecting something to happen, which says a lot for his ability”.
Following Gabriel Jesus’ long-term injury, Arteta has kept his admiration for the forward a secret, and Arsenal needs to improve its attacking defense.
Eddie Howe, the manager of Newcastle, reiterated that they are unlikely to lose Isak in January and are eager to develop the forward. However, he said he will “never say never” regarding the transfer window.
Alan Shearer, a former Newcastle striker, described his all-around performance as magnificent.
” He is creating so many opportunities, getting shots away. His first touch is fantastic.
“The Premier League has three world-class forwards,” I believe. Among them is Erling Haaland. Isak comes in third, followed by Mohamed Salah.
‘ Alexander the Great ‘ keeps breaking records
Isak has been called the “complete striker,” according to former Newcastle striker Alan Shearer, while Howe called him the “conduit” for the Magpies’ play following their victory at Southampton.
Newcastle fans have honored the forward with a statue of him in St James’ Park that reads “Alexander the Great.”
Isak broke Peter Beardsley’s previous club record of four goals in 1993 when he scored his penalty at St Mary’s, making him the first Newcastle player to score in five straight away Premier League games.
Callum Wilson leads all scorers in the Premier League with 48, which is the second-most of any Newcastle player.
Since the start of December, he has scored 14 goals in 10 Premier League games, four more than any other player.
