Vehicles Burnt, Motorists Feared Dead In Abuja Tanker Explosion

A petrol-laden tanker exploded on Karu Bridge, along the Abuja-Nyanya-Keffi Road in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), on Wednesday, causing a massive fire to occur along the Abuja-Nyanya-Keffi Road, causing some vehicles to be destroyed.

At least 30 vehicles were destroyed by the fire, which prompted a significant emergency response. Some motorists were feared dead in the fire as well.

The tanker, which was carrying Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), lost control and crashed onto the bridge, igniting a fire that quickly spread to other nearby vehicles.

Witnesses reported chaos occurring as drivers and passengers attempted to flee the area to avoid the advancing flames.

The scene attracted a lot of military personnel and emergency personnel.

The first responders were spotted concentrating on ensuring public safety, managing the situation, and managing people’s movements.

Traffic has been urged away from the scene by security personnel to avoid the affected area in order to facilitate the movements of firefighting teams and medical personnel.
