Vanessa Feltz, a broadcaster, will permanently take over Carol Vorderman’s Sunday slot on LBC.

Former Countdown star Vorderman, 63, said she would not continue with her radio show last month after suffering “burnout” from seven-day working weeks.

In a video to Instagram, Vorderman said she had a “tight feeling in my chest and I was utterly exhausted”, but “after many scans and checks, we know that I don’t have any underlying health issues whatsoever”.

Feltz, 62, joined LBC in May and hosts a Saturday afternoon show with her opinion, analysis, and in-depth analysis on issues important to the British public.

She said: “I can’t wait to be a weekend appointment to listen to. Every Saturday and Sunday afternoon, I’m looking forward to having the biggest and most lively conversation with my dear LBC listeners.

Tom Cheal, LBC’s senior managing editor, said: “Vanessa has quickly made her mark on the LBC schedule since she joined the station in May”.

We are excited to announce her new Sunday show because she is a genuine, straight-talking, and sharp broadcaster who has proved to be incredibly well-known with LBC viewers and is knowledgeable about what matters most to them.

Vorderman stepped up for LBC’s new Sunday program in January, starting at 4pm to 7pm.

Two months after the TV presenter’s resignation from her BBC radio show, the TV presenter claimed she was “not prepared to lose my voice” as a result of the company’s new social media guidelines.

Vorderman has had heated exchanges with Tory MPs on X, formerly Twitter, and has publicly criticised the previous administration on social media.

She claimed that because of a broken law, management decided to cancel her BBC Radio Wales Saturday morning show.

Feltz hosts Saturdays and Sundays, 3pm to 6pm, on LBC and Global Player.
