US fires on Sanaa as campaign against Yemen’s Houthis continues

According to media reports, the US conducted airstrikes across Yemen overnight, injuring 13 people and at least one person in Sanaa, the capital.
The Houthis’ renewed military offensive against the United States kicked off earlier this month when the Iran-aligned group announced they planned to resume attacks on Red Sea shipping as a result of Israel’s blockade of the Gaza Strip.
In the final toll of US aggression against a residential building in Sanaa’s Aser area, a Houthi-run Health Ministry spokesperson, Anees Alasbahi, said in a statement that “a citizen was killed and 13 others were hurt, including three children.”
The Houthis’ footage showed the rubble of a building that had collapsed and bloody stains on the ground.
Additionally, the Houthis reported air raids on locations in Marib province, which is home to oil and gas fields controlled by allies of Yemen’s exiled central government, as well as Saada and Hodeidah, the Red Sea port city of Hodeidah.
On Monday, a number of social media accounts claimed that the Houthis had attacked US naval vessels without verification.
On March 15, the US launched an aerial bombardment campaign against the Yemeni group, citing the US’s commitment to Hamas during the Israeli-Israeli conflict.
As a January ceasefire was implemented in the enclave, the Houthis put a stop to their attacks. The Yemeni organization threatened to re-engage in its campaign as the truce broke down.
According to National Security Advisor Mike Waltz, the Houthi threat is causing 75% of US-flagged ships to travel the farthest to Africa by the Suez Canal, according to Waltz on Sunday.
In recent days, the Houthis have also claimed that attacks have targeted Israel. A ballistic missile launched by the group was successfully intercepted, according to the Israeli military on Sunday.
Since last Thursday, the Houthis claim that at least 79 people have been killed and more than 100 injured in Yemen by US airstrikes.
“Every day and night”
The US has not yet confirmed any air raids on Sanaa, and has provided few details about the sites it is attacking during its campaign.
US Central Command is carrying out strikes in Yemen’s various locations of Houthi-backed locations every day and night, according to a defense official.
Waltz claimed that the recent US attacks have “taken out key Houthi leadership,” including the missile program’s head.
Waltz claimed that “we’ve hit their headquarters.” We’ve hit weapons factories, communications centers, and even some of their offshore drone production facilities, according to the report.
The Houthis have called out the US’s claims that it is systematically attacking Yemeni military installations as a “complete lie and slander.”
The Houthi government in Yemen claimed that “the images, scenes, evidence, types of victims, and survivors’ testimony from the targeted sites demonstrate that the US is purposefully killing defenseless civilians and destroying our people’s capacities.”
