The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Board of Trustees (BoT) has recognised Ude Okoye as the party’s authentic National Secretary.
They urged him to appoint him as the party’s substantive national secretary right away, according to the party’s national working committee.
Due to the lingering crisis affecting the party, the decision was made at a meeting held on Wednesday at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel Abuja.
The meeting has in attendance the BoT Chairman, Senator Adolphus Wabara, Secretary of the BoT, Senator Ahmed Makarfi.
Others included former governors Achike Udenwa, Sam Egwu, Babangida Aliyu, and Senator Ben Obi among others.
The former minister of special duties, Tamini Turaki, who had been asked to review the dossier, was reportedly present at the gathering. Both Samuel Nayanwu, the PDP’s national secretary, and Sunday Udeh-Okoye, both have been requesting legal review of their positions.

The party’s National Working Committee holding its National Executive Council (NEC) meeting in March was commended by the PDP governors in his opening remarks.
The BoT Chairman also cited the violence that occurred last week as a justification for holding meetings at the Wadata Plaza until security is restored in the secretariat.
