UGG has seen a pretty significant revival over the past few years, with stars like Jennifer Lopez, Selena Gomez, and Bella Hadid all sporting suede boots, whether they like them or not. They’ve cemented themselves as an ‘ it ‘ winter boot to have, and are only growing more and more. The most popular styles have been their ultra mini platform boots, classic boots, and Tasman slippers. However, now they’ve just launched a seriously divisive style.

The Bea Mary Jane Boots, £110, combine UGG’s classic suede style with an on-trend Mary Jane shoe. Taking all the design features of a classic UGG boot, including the cosy sheepskin lining, UGGplush™ insole, twin seam, and overstitched binding, UGG has given the pair a trendy 2025 update by copying the signature Mary Jane style.

I’m pretty obsessed with this pair as a Mary Jane wearer and a UGG lover. However, it is safe to say that the ‘ Marmite ‘ shoe has divided shoppers.

Chestnut, brown, and black colorways are available with the Mary Jane boots (UGG).
We think the black colourway is the most wearable
The most wearable (UGG) colorway is, in our opinion, black.

Already going viral on TikTok, viewers have been quick to give their opinions. Some shoppers are conflicted over whether they love or hate them, while others have differing viewpoints. One user, @ygfinds, shared their new Ugg Mary-Jane purchase with their followers, claiming they were ‘ so in love ‘ with the shoe.

However, they were quick to receive mixed review comments such as, “I hate them but I love them”, “they’re so ugly what”? and “Sorry but I literally love it, it’s so weirdly cute”. Another watcher dubbed this pair “ugly cute”, so it’s clear that their opinions are divided.

If you prefer a more traditional colorway, UGG also offers a black version. We believe that this shade is more wearable because it more closely resembles the cherished Mary-Jane look.

In order to keep your feet warm in the cold, we suggest pairing them with a pair of blue wash straight-leg jeans, a cozy knit jumper, and some ribbed chunky socks.

We’ve found some styles we’re loving for 2025 if you can’t get past these shoes and prefer to stick to the ode to the classic Mary Jane. Charles &amp, Keith’s Buckled Ridged-Sole Chunky Mary Janes, £69, still give the same chunky look of UGG ones but in a sleeker silhouette. While, Schuh’s Lash Chunky Mary Jane Flat Shoes, £40, are available in the on-trend burgundy shade we can’t get enough of this season.
