Trump warns Yemen’s Houthis will be ‘completely annihilated’

Donald Trump has reiterated his threat to Iran by promising that the United States will overthrow the Yemeni group. He has also reiterated his call for Iran to end its support for the Houthis.

The Houthis claimed attacks on American warships in the Red Sea area, as well as a missile launch against Israel, in response to the US president’s comments on Wednesday.

Additionally, on Wednesday, US airstrikes targeted Yemen’s capital, Sanaa, as well as another day of US airstrikes.

Watch as the Houthi barbarians’ situation gets worse, according to Trump in a social media post. “It’s not even a fair fight, and never will be,” he wrote. They will be completely destroyed, they promise!

The Houthis, who maintain Sanaa as the nation’s official armed forces, have been the target of numerous attacks by the US this month.

In an effort to allegedly press the Israeli government to end the war in Gaza, the Houthis have been firing missiles at Israel and targeting ships in and around the Red Sea since 2023.

In response to Israel’s blockade of humanitarian aid to Palestinian territory, the group temporarily stopped its Red Sea operations during the Gaza truce before launching them earlier this month.

After the Israeli military broke a two-month ceasefire, the Houthis also resumed direct military operations against Israel and this week, injuring hundreds of Palestinians.

Houthi positions were bombed in Yemen by former US President Joe Biden’s administration, but Washington’s campaign was unsuccessful in halting the group’s attacks.

Trump referenced “reports” in his social media post on Wednesday, in which he claimed Iran is still “sending significant amounts of supplies” despite its slowdown in support for the Houthis.

He wrote, “Iran must immediately stop the sending of these Supplies.” Let the Houthis engage in self-defense. They either lose or not, but they also lose quickly.

Trump had previously threatened Iran with retaliation if the Houthis were not to be stopped.

Although the Houthis are formally associated with Iran, it is unclear how heavily rely on Iranian support or whether Tehran can order them to halt their attacks.

Trump has, however, suggested that the Houthis are an Iranian government unit.

From the moment the Houthis launch their latest bombing campaign, Trump declared on social media that “IRAN will be held accountable, suffer the consequences, and those consequences will be dire.”

The Houthis, for their part, have vowed to continue attacking until Israel stops its assault on Gaza and have rejected US threats and airstrikes.

The Yemeni Armed Forces stated in a statement on Tuesday that the US’s aggression does not prevent Yemen’s steadfast and struggling country from fulfilling its religious, moral, and humanitarian obligations to the Palestinian people.

They say they will launch additional military operations against the Zionist group unless the blockade and brutal aggression stop.
