Six bandits who terrorize residents of Kaduna State’s Birnin-Gwari Local Government Area have been apprehended by troops from One Mechanized Division and Operation Whirl Punch of the Nigerian Army.   ,
According to a statement from Lieutenant Colonel Musa Yahaya, acting deputy director of army public relations for the One Mechanized Division, the bandits encountered their Waterloo on Thursday when the troops launched an offensive operation to their enclaves in the Birnin-Gwari Local Government Area’s Sabon Birinin, Dogon Dawa, Saulwa; Maidaro-Ngede Allah; and Kidenda.
He described how the soldiers encountered the bandits and immediately engaged them in a fierce gunfight, which resulted in the neutralization of six of them.
The army spokesman claims that the soldiers also found nine motorcycles, forty pairs of bandits’ uniform, four AK-47 rifle magazines, and fourteen rounds of 7.62mm ammunition.
Major General Valentine Okoro, the One Mechanized Division’s general officer and the force commander of Operation Whirl Punch, has praised the soldiers’ bravery in the meantime.
