Taylor Swift’s boyfriend Travis Kelce’s booing of Super Bowl fans has been revealed.
Travis and his Kansas City Chiefs traveled to the Philadelphia Eagles for the 2025 Super Bowl while Taylor was present at Ceasars Superdrome in New Orleans to cheer him on. When her face flashed on the big screen during the Eagles’ game on Sunday, a crowd of Eagles supporters booed her from Caesars Superdome.
As she turned to her friend Ice Spice as she questioned the boos, the crowd’s audible boos when the Grammy-winning musician first appeared on television. She laughed off the awkward situation, but it didn’t seem to bother her too much. “Aww what, what’s going on”? she asked.
President Donald Trump has since claimed Taylor had a “tougher night” than Travis’ team, which lost to the Eagles. However, it is claimed that Travis was left speechless after hearing the Bad Blood singer’s boos throughout the stadium.
Speaking to Daily Mail, a source said: “Travis was aware of Taylor getting booed and he felt helpless. He was moved by her expression. He never fails to protect her, which hurts his feelings. The fact that the stadium was primarily home to Eagles fans didn’t help him because he was already having a difficult night. Anyone can see this, and Travis is aware that this hurts her.
The source continued, making the claim that Taylor may be a traitor because he was originally from Pennsylvania and had previously worn Eagles’ jerseys before meeting Travis. They continued, claiming that Trump’s tight end felt it was “unnecessary” to also criticize the pop princess.
It hasn’t been a good week for them, they continued, adding that Taylor was denied a Grammy and Travis lost the biggest game of the year. Travis, himself, was also seen close to tears as he headed back to his dressing room following the Eagles defeat. Taylor’s friend, Serena Williams, who was also in attendance took to X, formerly known as Twitter to support her friend after the booing.
Serena said: “I love you @taylorswift13 dont listen to those booo!”! NFL fans have been vocal about the attention Taylor has received from the league and broadcasters since she started dating Kelce before the previous season. In a nail-biting overtime victory over the 49ers, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell even addressed these reservations prior to the Super Bowl last year in Las Vegas, where Swift watched the Chiefs claim victory.
Last year, when quizzed about whether Swift’s romance with Kelce was a ploy for more NFL viewership, Goodell denied any such orchestration: “I don’t think I’m that good (of) a scripter or anybody on our staff”, he said. “There’s no way that I could have scripted that one”.
Goodell also praised Swift’s entertainment prowess: “She’s a remarkable performer. She knows great entertainment. She is the best of the best, and my wife and I had the chance to see her perform at two of her shows. So, having her come to NFL games, (to) have her (be a) part of that is nothing but a positive light”.
