Tom Parker’s mum’s emotional reaction to widow Kelsey’s pregnancy – 3 years after tragic death
Kelsey Parker, a TV star, has exclusively revealed that she is expecting her first child with 27-year-old boyfriend Will Lindsay. And though she couldn’t be happier, she admits the moment is bittersweet, as she and her late husband, The Wanted singer Tom Parker, had always talked about having four children. Sadly, it was not meant to be, as Tom tragically died of brain cancer in March 2022 aged just 33, leaving behind Kelsey and their two children Aurelia, now five, and Bodhi, four.
“Life had other plans, but Tom and I always said we wanted four.” So yes, this is amazing but also bittersweet”, she reveals. “The joys of finding out I’m pregnant and moving forward with my life, while thinking, ‘ My life could have been so different… ‘ I’ve felt every emotion under the sun. I’m still getting my head around it but I’m so excited”.
And a deeply emotional moment in her pregnancy journey, she admits, tearing up, was telling her late husband Tom’s family. “Tom’s mum Noreen is just amazing. She gave me her blessing instantly, she can’t wait to have another grandchild. I’m only concerned with Tom’s family’s happiness and our families’.
She added of her close bond to her mother-in-law, “Noreen is the most amazing lady. After Tom passed, she said to me, ‘ As long as you’re happy Kels, whatever you do, we will always support you and be happy for you. ‘ We’ve all been through so much together. However, I’m present to welcome a second child into the world.
Tom continues to be a strong presence in Kelsey and her family’s life, however – including her new partner, Will, who says, “Tom was a massive part of Kelsey’s life – they were together for over 13 years, and had two beautiful children. Therefore, talking about him frequently is normal. If we didn’t, I believe it would be strange.
“Will never want me to not talk about Tom,” Kelsey recalls. He enjoys hearing his stories and talks about him. There’s a massive picture of Tom upstairs. He walked past it once, smiled at me and went, ‘ Oh, he’s handsome though, isn’t he”? !
Appearing on ITV’s Lorraine last November, Kelsey opened up to host Ranvir Singh, sharing that Tom’s parents, Noreen and Nigel, had been understanding and supportive of her decision to move on with tree surgeon Will.
She continued, “I have such an amazing village, and Tom’s parents, Noreen and Nigel, have supported me with whatever I’ve decided to do, and they know how difficult it is.
Kelsey continued: “For us at home, Tom is so alive in our house and we speak to him everyday. Because my children are still young and going through daily processing, these conversations will never end, and we are still having them.
