Tinubu’s Economic Team Not Sharp Enough, Says SDP’s Adebayo
The presidential candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in the 2023 election, Oluwole Adebayo, has questioned the composition of President Bola Tinubu’s economic team.
Adebayo, who was a guest on Channels Television’s Sunday Politics, said that Tinubu’s economic team is not sharp enough and that it is far from being proactive.
According to him, Tinubu doesn’t need to find more capable hands to run his economic team because of his party, the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The issue is that his economic team’s setup lacks any indication that they are proactive; instead, they are only reacting to the effects of their previous actions. So, they are perpetually defending, perpetually behind. So, the economic team is not nimble enough, it’s not sharp enough”, Adebayo said.
“His party has a lot of talents within the rubric of his own belief, even if he doesn’t look outside his party to find people to run his economic team. He hasn’t even utilized APC members’ best qualities.
He lamented that the Tinubu administration still borrows money to pay the budget, despite the money saved from the elimination of the fuel subsidy.
The SDP leader claimed that President Tinubu should stop talking about the things he and his supporters did while campaigning and ultimately winning elections.
He attributed Tinubu’s failure to stabilize the economy when he arrived before implementing some of the policies that have caused inflation to skyrocket.
Adebayo stated that he will begin to take the Tinubu administration seriously once it has been able to maintain stability for at least 120 days without fluctuating.
