Tinubu Signs Bill Establishing North-Central Development Commission

The NorthCentral Development Commission (NCD), which was established by President Bola Tinubu, is a move that aims to promote regional development.
During Tuesday’s Senate chamber plenary session, Senate President Godswill Akpabio announced the bill’s signing.
The NCDC is expected to facilitate economic growth, infrastructure development, and social welfare programmes across the North-Central states.
This action is in line with the government’s wider efforts to promote regional disparities and promote development nationwide.
Akpabio congratulated the people of the North-Central region, wishing them more development and peace as the country forges ahead in nation-building.
In addition to the NCDC bill, Tinubu also signed bills establishing the Federal Polytechnic, Rano, Kano State, and the Federal University of Health Sciences in Tsafe, Zamfara State.
The president’s approval comes a day after he signed a bill to establish the Federal University of Environmental Technology in Ogoni, Rivers State, according to Persecondnews.
During the signing ceremony, Tinubu emphasized the institution’s role in
expanding educational opportunities in the Niger Delta and addressing environmental issues in Ogoni.
The Ogoni people have been leading the charge for sustainable development and environmental restoration for decades, influencing both domestic and international discussions on these pressing issues, according to Tinubu.
