Tinubu Praises Macron, Says Nigeria’s Reforms To Impact Africa
President Emmanuel Macron and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu have commended their friendly interactions and expressed appreciation for their interest in Africa.
Tinubu expressed confidence in the positive effects of Macron’s goodwill on the continent as a whole.
The Nigerian leader urged both Nigerians and French citizens to uphold the cordial relationship between their countries at a state dinner hosted by the French government for President Tinubu on Thursday night at Palais des Elysées in Paris.
First Lady Senator Oluremi Tinubu accompanied the President to the dinner, along with , Nigerian government officials, businessmen, and the Director-General of the World Trade Organisation, Dr Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala.

“Being here is a great honor for me. And thanks to you organizing a fantastic reception, it has been a great day.
It is insufficient to acknowledge your thorough knowledge of Nigeria.  , Your warmth, your commitment, and your foresight in Africa are remarkable.
You sparked my excitement and caught my attention as a leader. Thank you.
” France went through a lot to put freedom, democracy and commitment together. Working together, you have a lot of motivation. We have no choice but to build a continent that connects, resonates for its people, and cares about the people and development, “President Tinubu said.
He thanked the French leader and his wife, Brigitte, for the State Visit and the three-day reception.

President Tinubu cited positive relations with France as the outlook was still favorable.
It’s a good time for everyone, they say. At this difficult time, I am proud to be the president of Nigeria. The President said, “I have people who are very clearly inspired, who are determined to change the course of Africa by changing the rot of the past, blending a future that our children and grandchildren can have, and be open, and be proud,” and who are determined to change the course of the continent.
According to President Tinubu, the reforms in Nigeria would improve the prospects of Africa’s economy.

” Regarding Nigeria’s economy, as you have said, we have embarked on a very strong reform, and there is no looking back. We shouldn’t continue with the past in the interests of the continent as it is. We must have a plan for the future while also being optimistic and committed. And with the bravery of our founding fathers.
“President Macron, all your efforts about Africa, I promise you shall not be in vain”, he said.
In his remarks, President Macron acknowledged Nigeria’s leadership in Africa, recognizing its role as a ‘ big brother ‘ to the continent.
He praised Nigerians for their perseverance and intellect, citing Femi Kuti as a global celebrity and Nobel Laureate Prof. Wole Soyinka.
“Nigeria has a formidable population of young people. Numerous Nigerians have exceptional careers.
You were free and overthrown military rule. You are on a mission to transform the country, said President Tinubu, who transformed the Lagosi economy.
Macron noted that French investors have long been active in Nigeria, particularly in oil, gas, construction, and food security.
He also highlighted opportunities in solid minerals, emerging technologies, and the film industry.
