‘This peptide serum is the latest to go viral for Botox-like effects – I tried it out’

The phrase “Botox in a bottle” is having a viral moment in the skincare industry as more people than ever are searching for needle-free ways to smoother, fresher-looking skin. There are a number of excellent new products hitting the market that can help reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, despite the fact that it’s really just a catchy marketing phrase (no topical skincare product can freeze line-forming muscles like Botox does).
The brand-new P-Tiox Neuro-Peptide Serum from SkinCeuticals, a skincare company renowned by beauty editors, skincare experts, and dermatologists for cult classics like C E Ferulic, is one of these products. According to SkinCeuticals, this clever new serum contains a multi-peptide complex as well as PHA, niacinamide, and laminaria extract, which targets nine different wrinkle types, from forehead lines to crow’s feet.
I’ve been testing it out to see how it compares to Medik8’s Liquid Peptides Advanced MP, my current favorite wrinkle-relieving serum, because it’s not cheap (although new customers can save 10% via the SkinCeuticals website).

Pros
- Skin appears brighter, brighter, and healthier right away.
- Lines appear a little thinner.
- No need to layer other serums or moisturisers on top of a one-and-done serum.
- absorbs quickly but still feels hydrating
- trustworthy, derm-approved brand
Cons
- Expensive
- Some people claim that it smelt a little under the makeup (I haven’t found this to be the case).
- On extremely sensitive or cracked skin, it might be a little strong.
I’ve used and adored a lot of SkinCeuticals products in the past, and I can now trust this serum because of its clinical trials and expert recommendations. And the first time it happened was love.
P-Tiox has a sophisticated formula that is light, runny, and rich, and it glides effortlessly into skin while staying moist (hydrating enough to make me skip the morning moisturizer and start applying SPF), and it layers nicely with all of my other skincare and makeup.

Although I’ve only used this for a week, I know I’ll be depressed when it expires. We’re talking “glass skin,” so it immediately appears younger, plumper, and brighter on my skin. I’m overdue for a Botox top-up, and I believe this serum, which has the same benefits as the instant brightening and smoothing effects, makes the fine lines on my forehead appear less obvious.
I’ve used the highly praised Medik8 Liquid Peptides Advanced MP before, but I now need to use more skincare products because it’s a little drying. SkinCeuticals’ is gorgeously hydrating and a true “one-and-done” anti-ageing serum.

Although it’s difficult to find a negative about this amazing all-in-one anti-ageing serum, I’d say that it might be a little too strong for very sensitive skin (I had some flaky skin from an old blemish and it stung for a few seconds).
Although new SkinCeuticals customers can save 10% when they sign up, it’s also expensive, and there might be other discounts on it on Lookfantastic. However, you are paying for some truly premium skincare here.
Naturium Multi-Peptide Advance Serum is highly rated by beauty editors, and it has been reduced from £27 to £21. .
