This Morning star issues 7-word statement over ‘shamed’ Bonnie Blue’s 1000 men sex stunt

Ashley James, a regular This Morning guest, is known for giving out her outspoken opinions, and she says she does it all for her kids.

The 37-year-old TV personality and former model first gained notoriety when she joined Made in Chelsea as a cast member, but she now appears on This Morning alongside Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard to discuss her struggles with motherhood, mental health, and everything in between.

As we chat during the London premiere of Cirque Du Soleil’s new show, Corteo, Ashley remarks, “I feel very fortunate to be on This Morning – it’s one of the most exciting daytime shows, and I love everyone I work with.” “Cat and Ben have taught me a lot, and they’re amazing and kind. I’ve known Ben for years but I’d never met Cat before doing the show and she’s got such a friendly, amazing energy. She is a pleasure to work with because she treats everyone equally from the set to the green room. She’s also one of my childhood crushes”!

Ashley prides herself on challenging other celebrities’ more divisive views, which she does not. Ashley says she wants to spread “toxic” views to others by exposing her conflict with OnlyFans star Bonnie Blue, who made headlines last month by claiming to have had sex with “1,000 men in one day.” “I am really passionate about things like this”, she says.

In a interview on This Morning, I expressed my gratitude for the opportunity to speak with Bonnie Blue. She is obviously making a lot of social media buzz, and some parents and adults may not be aware of what’s happening. So I believe it sparked a significant discussion, and it made me feel particularly challenged that she had never before faced real challenges. Yes, she’s been shamed, but I wasn’t really interested in shaming her or her promiscuity. More important to me is the message she’s promoting. It can be extremely toxic and harmful.”

Ashley said in a statement late last year that her disagreement with Bonnie was “not that she has decided to go on to OnlyFans or that she has chosen to have sex with lots of different people, because who are any of us to judge” The problem I have with her is that many people have the same idea as she does because she has reaffirmed a patriarchal standard and that it is within a man’s rights to look elsewhere in response to the comments and feedback I received after our This Morning interview.

Ashley, who has two children – Alfie, four, and 23-month-old Ada – with her partner Tommy Andrews says having kids has made her all the more passionate about challenging damaging viewpoints. “As a mum I’m probably more concerned about the future and how it’s looking”, she says. “I feel like I’m worried not only for my daughter’s future but also for my son’s. In a world where there’s so much online influence, there’s a rise in misogyny, people like Andrew Tate, increased access to porn – I think we’d be silly not to worry about boys as much as girls”.

She continues, “I’ve been made to be passionate by other chapters of my life as well.” Before I met my partner, I recall being single in my teens and having no children when I was a teenager. There was a lot of judgment, shame, and social expectations surrounding that. Anyone who is single and older naturally experiences pressure, but I really try to challenge and look into it. We should never be judged based on outdated timelines, in my opinion. We have the freedom to do whatever is right for us in a time where we can make our own decisions.

Reflecting on how she deals with the negative aspects of being in the public eye, she says, “In a way, the better you do, the more you’re exposed to trolling and backlash. I’ve learned to ignore other people’s problems because I believe that’s what it’s all about: trolling and other things are projected on you. I’ve come to the lesson that I shouldn’t be bothered by it. I make an effort to raise more women, not just women. I like to think that I fight social injustice”.

Ashley has been open to the difficulties facing new parents, previously revealing how “boring” it was for Alfie when he was just a baby. “I’d dread being on my own with him for long periods”, she said. “I felt like I’d ruined my life”. She claims to adore Alfie and enjoys having fun together even though she occasionally enjoys getting her glad rags on. However, as he gets older, she claims to love him even more.

“I’m out with friends tonight”, she says. Because you give so much to your children and your job, it’s important to remember that you also deserve things. It’s hard to juggle it all, but you do your best”. We think Ashley deserves the night off, given that she has two young children and fights well in the good fight on television.
