The Traitors winner Leanne reveals huge part of the show she ‘couldn’t take’
Winning The Traitors is no small feat, but for Leanne Quigley, it’s been a whirlwind of emotions, secrets, and life-changing moments.
For Leanne, 28, the castle wasn’t just a game—it was a temporary escape from her life as an army recruit. The mother of two, who recently won the hit reality series, left with a staggering £94,600 split between her and fellow loyal Jake Brown, made an admission that she simply couldn’t take about being on the show.
Speaking exclusively to the Mirror, she said: “I realised I could never be a Traitor. My heart just couldn’t take it”.
The popular BBC program has been entertaining viewers for the past three weeks, and it is now season three.
On the television show Faithful, Leanne was one of the contestants this year. In an effort to conceal her military experience, viewers have seen her deceivingly lie about her job. Leanne is a tough cookie to crack, aside from her bright pink suit and blonde locks.
In the final moments, she and her friend Jake decide to banish Frankie and Alexander, and both of them did so themselves. After the Seer twist, the group was able to remove Traitor Charlotte, but Leanne and Jake, who had defeated them, sent their fellow Faithfuls Alexander and Frankie away.
After unintentionally removing Charlotte Berman as the final Traitor, she and Jake won the tense final where they defeated two other Faithfuls. After fellow Traitor Freddie Fraser, who Charlotte had betrayed, cast her ballot, Charlotte had to fight back and survive after Faithful Frankie Rowan-Plowden learned her identity and started to question her.
Eight months after filming, the actors have had to keep their roles a secret. Leanne, who left the Army just before joining the show, said: “It’s really strange to even be talking about it. I told people I was on one last deployment”. Jake revealed to his friends and family that he was looking for a job in Australia as a corporate entrepreneur. He said: “They did say, ‘ What, you’ve not got your phone? ‘ I was like, ‘ Yeah, it’s bad signal'”.
After years of Army camaraderie, Leanne says it was difficult to adjust. She said: “Instantly in the Army, you trust everybody – I was struggling with not trusting people. You establish friendships so quickly, and trust only develops with friendship. So to try and take that trust away from an alliance you’ve built, it’s really difficult”.
Jake’s admission about his cerebral palsy was one of the most powerful moments, according to viewers. Struggling with his grip during a team challenge, he confided in fellow finalist Alexander Dragonetti. Jake explained: “For the first time, I didn’t have to suffer in silence. I felt like I had someone lift my weight.
” I used to be ashamed, and just wanted to be ‘ normal’. But I’ve come to accept it for who I am. I’ve had messages from people saying I inspired them. I want to be that person now because I never had a role model when I was younger. He said, “I want to give some of the prize money because of my parents, because I am today. “
And Leanne added:” My partner and I and the twins are planning a holiday. And there’s the wedding. We haven’t set a date yet, but it’ll be a big celebration. “Former and final cast members made their way to London on Friday afternoon for a special screening of the season’s climactic episode. The cast arrived at the BBC’s New Broadcasting House in their best suits to get ready for the final episode, which revealed who had left the money.
Leanne, herself, dazzled in a black evening gown as she prepared to watch the show – her long blonde hair cascading around her shoulders.
Leanne took to Instagram to express her thoughts on the enormous success of the show’s success after it was broadcast. She captioned the photo with “wow” while also appearing on the show with host Claudia Winkleman and fellow winner Jake. I can’t even believe I’m writing this…
She continued: “THANK YOU to every single one of you who have been so supportive and incredible, most importantly my future wife Sophie. The ending was the most heartfelt I could have anticipated. I love you so much Francesca Rowan-Plowden and Alexander Dragonetti. I’m beyond blessed to have lifelong friends in this game.
Claudia Winkleman, our queen, and the studio Lambert production team, thank you for being the best host on earth and for being the most amazing producer, Leanne concluded her post. And to Jake Brown]heart emoji] WE DID IT. ‘
