Teenage defender Leon set for Man Utd medical

Diego Leon, a teenager, is preparing to leave for Manchester United by flying to England to get his medical.

On social media, images of the 17-year-old getting ready to leave South America have been shared, and sources with knowledge of the situation have confirmed Leon will travel to Manchester.

His club Cerro Porteno has previously claimed a deal of around £6m, including add-ons is in place for the Paraguayan, who plays on the left-hand side.

In the wake of Erik ten Hag’s dismissal in October, he would become the first newcomer to replace Ruben Amorim as United’s head coach.

Before joining United in the summer, Leon might be refrained from returning to his current club.
