Taylor Swift diehard fans lash out at Chris Packham after he criticised star
Taylor Swift fans targeted Chris Packham after he criticized the actor’s use of private jets, according to Chris Packham.
Taylor reportedly racked up 178, 000 miles on her two jets last year during her sold-out globe-trotting Eras Tour. And Swifties invaded to defend their favorite.
Campaigner Chris, who has been presenting Autumnwatch specials on The One Show this week, said: “They’re obsessed with her, aren’t they? It was, ‘ Don’t pick on Taylor, go and pick on someone else, ‘ and ‘ Why are you picking on her, she does so much good’. She does make kind things, but she doesn’t care about the planet or her fans’ future.
” When you’re a billionaire, giving millions to charity should be mandatory, let alone something we celebrate. However, if you ask me, setting a standard for your fans should be required in order to ensure their future. She’s someone who can exact influence. You might be using a private jet if you’re the head of a multinational company, but you don’t have millions of followers. She should be leading by example. She has the capacity to do that because she’s got so many followers. “
In February, Blank Space singer Taylor, 34, threatened legal action against Jack Sweeney, the creator of social media accounts that logged the movements of her jets, one of which she has now sold.
Southampton-born Chris, 63, will present a Halloween special on tomorrow’s One Show. It will explore how some animals – including bats, owls, crows and toads – earned their spooky reputation.
He announced this week that he and the government had reached an agreement regarding their decision to abandon green policies. The previous Tory government, according to Chris, acted unlawfully by halting measures intended to bring the UK to net zero by 2050.
He claimed that “policies were dumped without considering the effects” on those plans or the role that the government played legally under the Climate Change Act. A new report will be released by the Labour government at this time.
