Take That’s Mark Owen has been forced to flee from his LA home after waking up to “helicopters, thick black smoke and winds howling”.

As California’s population is forced to flee to safety, thousands of people have been displaced as a result of wildfires that have been rapidly spreading throughout the state. Parts affected include Malibu, the Hollywood Hills area and Runyon Canyon. So far, five people have been killed according to officials, with over 1000 homes destroyed and 70, 000 people evacuated.

The fires, which have been labeled a state of emergency, have made it nearly impossible for the firefighters to even begin containing the spreading fires, with reports of water shortages and fierce winds. Additionally, homes belonging to celebrities like Paris Hilton, Harrison Ford, and Billy Crystal have been destroyed.

Mark has now joined those who have been urged to leave their homes to seek safety. Taking to Instagram, his wife, Emma said: “Thank you for all your messages and checking in. I can’t quite comprehend what happened here, but we are safe. The fire has quickly spread catastrophically and quickly due to the lack of water and hurricane-force winds, causing it to take much of our beloved locale with it. Schools, homes, shops, and stables are all gone.

” We woke up to helicopters, thick black smoke, winds howling, and the uncertainty that our house would survive. I wish I had packed better. Even if I had just grabbed each of their baby shoes, it would have been something. So many have lost everything, pets included. And it’s nowhere near over. There is not enough water to control the situation, and there are three active fires burning nearby. Due to the winds, airplanes are grounded.

“I’m not sure what we’ll do next,” he said. Right now, I’m just heavy and tired. We are beyond appreciative of what the @losangelesfiredepartment heroes do in these difficult circumstances. They tirelessly seek to end terrible conditions for people and their homes. We see you. Climate change is real, and it’s apocalyptic when it strikes”. Emma informed her online followers that there was “no water left” and that the winds were preventing them from flying. “We need your prayers”, she added.

In a later video, Emma said: “I’m so tired, I don’t think anyone in LA is sleeping right now. I’m popping back on here, we’ve had so many messages of people just checking if we’re ok – friends and family back home and there are so many messages, they’re so lovely, we just don’t have the energy or the time to individually send details.

“Just to let you know that we are safe, that the two girls, along with the two smaller dogs, and the hamsters, are staying at a hotel. We have a lot of animals in his music studio, including the two larger dogs and the cats. Although the horse might need to be rescued again because the location where they were moved is now in danger, we were able to bring them to safety.

She continued, “Elwood and his girlfriend’s son, Elwood, are currently residing with friends after the area in which they sought refuge later was in danger.” Can’t wait to have my family back together again, “she said, adding that they were” blessed “to have found safety”. Our house is under threat again, none of the fires are contained, they’re still raging, “she added.

Emma explained that the family were dealt a second blow by being informed that looters were active in the area and that many people had already fled their homes while they were facing losing their homes as a result of the fires. Can you imagine how looting is occurring right now? “she asked”. What is wrong with humanity? “she added.

Dozens of fires have been reported across the region, with fires in Hurst, Eaton, Woodley, Palisades and Runyon Canyon – with the fires now so substantial they span more than 25, 000 acres with the smoke even visible from space, as per the Nasa Space Observatory. President Joe Biden has responded to the crisis by approving the distribution of more aid, and with President Joe Biden now declaring a state of emergency, all resources are being used to try to control the situation.

He responded to his tweet on Wednesday evening by saying, “I have directed the @DeptofDefense to quickly provide additional firefighting personnel and capabilities to the region being impacted by the Southern California wildfires. The National Guard and we continue to collaborate closely. For putting together Airborne Firefighting Systems, I extend my gratitude to the California National Guard and the Nevada National Guard. Water delivery buckets and ten Navy helicopters are headed your way.
