Suspected Cultist Shot Dead In Ondo

A 40-year-old man who is thought to be a cultist was shot dead in Owo, Ondo State’s Owo Local Government Area.

The deceased was said to have been shot by two masked men on Sunday, January 19, 2025.

The spokesperson for the Ondo State Police Command, CSP Funmilayo Odunlami, confirmed the incident in a statement made available to journalists.

She claimed that the deceased was a cult leader who the police had placed on their radar.

The suspect allegedly attacked a police station while participating in the EndSARS protest, stealing an AK-47 gun and a police officer’s bulletproof vest.

She added that a state resident’s death was also reported to have been related to the deceased.

According to the police spokesperson, efforts are being made to find the killers after the suspect’s remains have been deposited in a town hospital’s morgue.
