Suspected Boko Haram Insurgents Kill Policeman On Gov Buni’s Convoy

A police officer was killed and three others were hurt when suspected Boko Haram insurgents attacked Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni’s convoy along Maiduguri- Dramaturg Road.

After the governor attended the University of Maiduguri’s 24th convocation in Borno State, the attack happened on Saturday.

The attackers opened fire on the convoy from both sides of the highway, aiming for the pilot, according to an eyewitness who was present but spoke under the condition of anonymity.

“Today, we just barely escaped death.” After attending the University of Maiduguri’s 24th convocation, the convoy was attacked between Beneshiekh and Mainok, less than sixty kilometers from Damaturu.

One policeman was instantly killed when the insurgents opened fire on the convoy from both sides of the road, and the other later passed away from excessive bleeding. In actuality, we left Maiduguri at around 6:00 p.m., he claimed.

The incident occurred as the convoy was returning to Damaturu, the state capital, and Governor Buni was not present. According to reports, he visited Abuja for a business meeting.
