The Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Media and Public Communication, Sunday Dare, has berated the president’s political opponents for “heating up the polity. ”
Dare said the president’s political opponents whom he labelled “wannabes” unleashed vitriol on him while he was away in Tanzania seeking solutions to Nigeria’s energy problems.
He maintains that President Tinubu is unconcerned, undistracted, and will only engage in constructive discussions about improving the lives of Nigerian citizens and promoting a resilient economy.
His outburst is coming days after former Governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El-Rufai, and former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, along other opposition leaders openly criticised Tinubu’s administration.

El-Rufai also criticised his party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), for rejecting its founding principles and encouraging subpar leadership.
The APC is no longer recognized by me. No party organ has met in two years—no caucus, no NEC, nothing. You don’t even know if it is a one-man show; it’s a zero-man show. ”
The former governor criticized the political party’s leadership style and attributed it to unqualified delegates.
“You cannot afford to have illiterates, semi-illiterates, and cunning people as your leaders. He claimed that this is the reason why we have today’s weak leadership.
On the other hand, Amaechi, who was quoted as saying that Tinubu and the political class would not give up power to the younger generation without a fight, was speaking on how to remove him from office.
Dare reacted by saying that Tinubu’s political rivals should wait until the upcoming election to prove their popularity in a post on his X handle on Saturday.
His post reads, “While President Bola Ahmed Tinubu of Nigeria was away in far away Dar es Salaam, capital of Tanzania, his political opponents, detractors, opposition elements, psuedo friends unfolded their Machiavellian inclinations. Indeed, while the President was seeking solutions to Nigerias’ energy problems in Dar es Salaam, some “wannabes “were heating up the polity.
“Expectedly, it was a gathering convened to further spread ill-will. Nothing novel about the gathering was discovered in contrast to the opposition script we are currently using. Some of the participants abused their vitriol, fanning out the opposition’s rage. These political gladiators have well-known antecedents.
We urge Nigerians to begin their examinations soon. And choose between political hecklers and real progressives. The skies are starting to clear. The stage sets soon. The combat begins. Until then, President Tinubu, an avowed democrat remains undistracted and unperturbed. The fight is ahead. Not now.
