Following the deadly attack in New Orleans that left ten people dead, the US college football teams Notre Dame and the University of Georgia have postponed their Sugar Bowl until Thursday.

Authorities claim that a man drove into a sizable crowd in New Orleans on New Year’s Day, injuring at least 35 others.

The committee was “devastated by the terrible events,” according to Sugar Bowl CEO Jeff Hundley.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims and their families”, he added.

We are having ongoing discussions with local, state, and federal authorities, and we will let them know more details as they become available.

The FBI confirmed that the incident was the subject of a “act of terrorism” investigation.

The Georgia Bulldogs and Notre Dame Fighting Irish football team’s game is expected to be the final of four College Football Playoff quarter-finals.
