Strictly’s Alijaz ‘furious’ over Wynne Evans’ crude comments to wife Janette Manrara

According to reports, Opera singer-turned-presenter Wynne Evans left Strictly Come Dancing star Aljakorjanec after making sexual remarks about his wife Janette Manrara.

The Welshman used offensive language that appeared to make people uncomfortable at an event held during the tour’s launch in Birmingham. Although Alja has since received reprimands for his actions, he has also been subjected to criticism from BBC bosses.

When Janette approached a group of the 2024 series’ stars, Evans was caught making an inappropriate sexual remark. He sang out: “Go Compare”, before adding: “Not too close to Jamie”. Then, in reference to a lewd sexual act, he made the incredibly offensive term “spit roast.” In a statement, Evans told the Mirror: “My language was inappropriate and unacceptable, for which I sincerely apologise”.

Wynne, who also himself at the centre of drama after a “vulgar” joke he reportedly made behind-the-scenes was “leaked”, recently pulled out of the Strictly tour’s stint in Glasgow due to an ankle injury. But it has now been claimed Aljaž certainly didn’t see the funny side of the comment.

“Wynne received a severe fine for his indecent language, and he was given the assurance that it would not be tolerated,” he remarked in his final letter. It was a proper dressing-down”, an insider told MailOnline. “Wynne also gave a grovelling apology to Janette and her furious husband, Aljaz”.

Evans and dance partner Katya had an “inside joke” with him and he appeared to move it closer to her stomach a few weeks ago, but he was hit with resentment. As the pair sat side by side, Katya made an apparent brush away from his hand.

In a photo with the scandal-hit star, Evans appears to have Katya’s backing despite the most recent controversy. She re-shared a post, orginally posted by Love Island’s Tasha Ghouri as she, Tasha, Wynne and Jamie Borthwick sat in a bar, relaxing. Captioning her re-share, Katya penned: “Tour fam”, along with a red-heart emoji.

Aljaz met Janette at the 2010 dance studios in London and they fell in love right away. Artem Chigvintsev and Pasha Kovalev, both of whom Janette had previously dated, were also on the Strictly roster. But while they were short lived romances, this time it was the real deal.

He kneeld down at their first dance studios in 2015 to make the proposal. Their wedding came two years later, with Janette’s former celebrity dance partner Julien Macdonald creating her dream, Audrey Hepburn inspired, wedding dress.

The Strictly stars who were present at the London ceremony included Anton Du Beke, Oti Mabuse, Katya Jones, and Kevin Clifton. They then moved on to have two more appearances with Aljaz’s family in Slovenia, and the final one with Janette’s close friends in Miami.
