Coach Vladimir Platenik claims that Emma Raducanu, who was “feeling stressed and under a lot of pressure,” was the cause of her brief but ultimately ended relationship with the Britishman.

Platenik, 22, called off the deal after only two weeks, calling it off as he was “absolutely surprised” but “not angry.”

The conversation occurred on the eve of the British number two’s Miami Open first-round match on Wednesday, after 10 days of training.

Emma is not in a comfortable position, but I fully understand her. After winning the US Open in 2021, everyone is anticipating what she will do next, according to Platenik, and everyone is hoping for the same thing for herself.

“It’s entirely understandable that she’s under a lot of pressure,” she said. She expressed stress to me.

No hard feelings are felt by me. Although she ended the relationship fairly quickly, perhaps too quickly, because this is tennis. That must be respected.

She decided not to feel well, which she did. I was reluctant to go into more in-depth analysis of that. I believe that the player needs to feel good and make a choice. You make choices occasionally wisely and occasionally wrongly.

At the end of last month, Platenik claimed that Raducanu’s father, Ian, with whom he frequently communicates, asked him for a coach recommendation.

Since Nick Cavaday stepped down as a coach for medical reasons in January, his daughter has been without a permanent coach.

Platenik explained that at first, he had a suggestion for someone else’s name, but he soon reconnected when his friendship with New Zealander Lulu Sun ended abruptly.

The 49-year-old Slovak said he was “surprised by the way Emma was working” and immediately took a flight to Indian Wells.

There were a lot of issues to play on the move with the various speed, spin, and angle, he said, making her not really able to stay in the rallies.

“We had a good discussion, and she and I had a good communication.” I was delighted because I had never seen a player improve that quickly in eight or nine days.

Future plans for Platenik open up.

The relationship wasn’t quite heading in the right direction, according to Raducanu’s representatives, but she has the “utmost respect” for Platenik.

She praised Platenik at Indian Wells as being “very serious and very professional,” but she also emphasized that it was too early to predict how they would play both on and off the court.

Platenik, who has had success with Dominika Cibulkova and Daria Kasatkina, stated that they had reached a tentative agreement to work together until the French Open, and that he would be very willing to work with Raducanu again if she changes her mind.

She needs to feel good, she says. It’s okay if she says, “This is life, Vlado, I made a mistake because it actually worked and I just needed to try to find myself,” he said when she returns in six months.

Only time will determine whether she will make her best decision, and whether or not they were accurate. “You need to search for your best, you need to learn.

Platenik also confirmed that the relationship had become strained as a result of a very heated interview he gave to the Slovak newspaper Dennik N.

He suggested that Raducanu had experienced hell after winning the US Open in 2021.

The agent said, “I’m not angry, but Emma is stressed out about the newspaper article,” so he continued, “I’m not upset.

Because tennis is a sincere sport, I’m always telling the truth.
