Spencer Pratt has criticized his coworkers for telling them to stop complaining about the burning down of his Los Angeles home as a “rich celebrity.”
The 41-year-old reality star first gained notoriety on the well-known MTV series The Hills in the mid-1980s when he and girlfriend Heidi Montag, a blonde bombshell, met and had two kids. Over 10,000 homes have been destroyed or damaged in Los Angeles as a result of one of the worst wildfires in state history since the fires started on Tuesday and have since spread out out of control.
Spencer and Heidi have been updating fans about the destruction of their homes after being one of the unfortunate ones who were completely destroyed by the disaster. However, they have received offensive comments from trolls on social media, assuming the couple is wealthy and that they are surrounded by a mountain of wealth.
Spencer has responded to critics’ criticism of him in a TikTok video, saying that he is not wealthy and that online reports about his financial situation are inaccurate. Spencer has claimed he is creating these videos in an effort to make some money, and that TikTok content creators reportedly get a small fee for longer than one minute videos that are viewed by followers for more than five seconds.
Speaking to the camera from a beach, he said: “You know, one of my favourite things about my house burning down? Everyone I’ve ever read about myself on social media and Google has said that I’m a broke nobody ever since The Hills was canceled in 2010. Then it burns down our entire house and all of our possessions, and now everyone in my comments section asks, “What are you crying about?” You’re a rich celebrity. ‘ My gosh! What a re-brand”.
He continued: “Please, everyone update my Google alerts, that Celebrity Network thing which said I’ve been worth, like, one thousand dollars for the last 15 years… Please update that, because, you know. I’m enjoying now being called a rich celebrity. Thank you to everyone in the comments section that says, ‘ Who cares if you lost everything. You’re a rich celebrity. ‘”
Counting down the time his video took to make, he continued: “I’m almost out of minutes. I’m sorry, but because I’m a wealthy celebrity, I need to receive 50 cents from the creator’s fund. He then sarcastically concluded, “Ok, one minute! Rich celebrities, see you in a few minutes” – with the clip ending after he had spoken for one minute and four seconds.
Heidi shared footage in a TikTok post about her own trip to California to find the only items that survived when her husband left the ruinous home. She told followers: “Spencer was able to retrieve some stuff from the fire. nectar and the hummingbird pot! There was some nectar in it.
